  1. Yeah, that’s why they’ve won 16 state championships. Because they think like that.

  3. Multiple rightfully unranked teams would mollywhop Lutheran Padding stats against 1a teams and bad 2a/3a teams does not make them a serious contender across all classes

  4. At quick glance this looks accurate. One thing Indiana does differently from a mechanical standpoint is in regards to the dead ball signal (arm raised over their head). If the covering official signals to stop the clock for a first down in bounds or any runner out of bounds or if they signal incomplete, they also need to give the dead ball signal. The IHSAA doesn't think play clock operators are able to know to se the clock to 40 and start it without that signal. I ask the play clock operator every week if they know what to do without that signal and every one has said yes.

  5. Terre Haute South 36 Northview 27 (final) The long kickoff return at the end of the 3rd with the score, seemed to pump new life in Northview's offense and they went on a long drive in the 4th and scored with the aid of a face mask penalty on the drive to pull within two at the 8:05 mark, but that would be it. The Braves would seal the win with a TD with just 1:22 left in the game. It's the first loss of the season for Northview, and I have to think that the Braves' much tougher schedule showed itself tonight in their 2nd win of the season.

  7. No kind of performance supplants Snider as the favorite. Snider has two good victories over Carroll and Warren Central. That being said, I think Valpo could be a co-favorite if they beat Crown Point by any amount.

  9. Aren't they all? Who wins unlimited vote "awards" is usually just a function of who has the most time to keep hitting "Return to Poll"...

  10. I'm not so sure there's 53 teams out there that can beat them. I think they'll be a handful for Lutheran.

  16. I believe we can beat any 3A public in the state "most" years. Our peers. I don't subscribe to the machismo of fighting against insurmountable odds. The deck is stacked and is stinks.

  20. Watched the clip. The crew did none of the things you should do when enforcing a penalty. No conversation between the U and another official (maybe they had radios and someone communicated to him or the near side wing gave a visual signal? He didn't check off the distance with the wing before moving. He didn't verify with a wing he was at the right spot before putting the ball down. This not only looked like a situation of going to fast. It skipped a bunch of steps that could have prevented this from happening.

  21. Agreed, but I still have hope in Warren and Poles to turn it around. Poles has some learning to do on his FA acquisitions as Claypool and Davis are looking like busts. I heard on a Chicago sports podcast that Warren was visibly pissed after the Bucs lost and let it be known how pissed he was on the flight back from Tampa There was no FBI raid The DC has been away from the team for health and family reasons. Nothing nefarious. I think Fields doesn't fit the direction the Bears want to go and they're giving him one last chance to figure it out as they've built up enough draft capital and the '24 draft has Williams and Maye. Fields can't sit in the pocket and find the open read. It's discussed ad nauseum on Chicago sports radio how many times per game the All 22 Film shows him missing wide open WR's when he's holding onto the ball or throwing check down passes. Some WR's were visibly unhappy during the Tampa game. He may not feel comfortably, but the Bears may not want a QB that's running all of the time and can only throw on bootlegs or by getting out of the pocket. At least CJ Stroud actually looked like a competent QB on Sunday. Honestly, it's surprising some of those names even threw a pass in the NFL. Of course Krenzel was with the Bears.

  22. If I am Jasper I would drop Bosse and Harrison in a heartbeat and replace with HH and Southridge. The visiting fan gate receipts would be substantially different. While an EVSC non-EVSC split would be easy, only North and Reitz really have fan bases that goes to away games. My vote would be a football only split on Hwy 41. East: Jasper, Castle, Harrison, Memorial, Bosse. West: North, Central, Vincennes, Reitz, MD I would imagine there would still be teams that would schedule 2-3 crossover games (Mem-MD, VL-Jasper, Reitz-Castle, etc)

  26. 6A: Hamilton SE vs Center Grove 5A: Snider vs Harrison (WL)* 4A: Kokomo vs East Central 3A: Chatard vs Heritage Hills 2A: Rochester vs Triton Central 1A: Adams Central vs Lutheran * Assuming that Harrison and Plainfield rematch in sectionals goes the same way as last season with the regular-season loser taking revenge. HSE is in Sectional 3 and Brownsburg is in Sectional 5. 3 is North and 5 is South.

  29. Hard to imagine the winner of this game NOT at least get a share of the conference title. But you are right, the NLC is far from being over with 4 teams that could all beat one another and a 5th that could pick someone off. The minute Curtis took the Warsaw job I knew he would get them to being a consistent winner. It's kind of interesting too look at the programs that he has left and where they are at now with New Prairie and Mishawaka. The guy doesn't just get buy in from players but he also gets it from the community and the community is what gets you stable programs. Truly one of the best out there
