  1. IMO, that's tacky on the Colts. They're playing in a taxpayer funded stadium with a sweetherad deal on rent/revenue. You can't criticize the season ticket holders for taking advantage of a good resale market. I was in LOS yesterday. There were A LOT of Bears fans in attendance. Seemed like somewhere around 40-50% Bears fans.

  2. Different polls. There may be some overlap, but long story short, the Gannett papers nationally withdrew from AP. This year, Kyle Neddenriep began the USA Today poll and has hand-picked a statewide group of 18 voters (full disclosure: I am one of them). I personally know most, and they're well-spread among the state and all pretty knowledgeable. It's made up of broadcasters and newspaper types. I don't know who is on the AP poll board, but they're generally sports editors/HS sports reporters at the (dwindling number of) AP member papers.

  7. Week 6 in the Mid-State conference, here we go! Whiteland (3-1-1) at Martinsville (5-0) Whiteland is a very good team with a great offense, and they can easily knock off the Artesians if they are down. Martinsville has the most complete offense in the Mid-State conference, and they should be able to tear down Whiteland's offense with ease. This will be a very good game and will help determine who wins the conference. Prediction: Martinsville 38, Whiteland 35 Greenwood (2-3) at Perry Meridian (2-3) This should be a close game. Greenwood is a good team running the football and I question whether Perry will be able to stop them on the ground. Perry runs a balanced offense with a quarterback who can make plays with his legs. These are two well-coached teams and this should be a good game. I will take Greenwood, they will be hungry to prove their worth after their shutout homecoming loss at home against Plainfield, and I think Coach Boser's offensive creativity will take the reigns here. Prediction: Greenwood 27, Perry 21 Franklin (2-3) at Mooresville (1-4) The Pioneers have clearly been the worst team in the conference so far. However, Franklin has been struggling, especially on the offensive side of the ball, and the Pioneers return a bunch of players who were injured against Terre Haute North. I think that the upset will happen here. Prediction: Mooresville 21, Franklin 14 Game of the Week: Decatur Central (2-2-1) at Plainfield (5-0) These two teams are probably the favorites for the southern half of 5A, and they could not be more of a polar opposite to one another. Decatur Central brings another level of speed to the conference while Plainfield brings another level of physicality. The Quakers have the best run game and defense in the conference, and I think that it will prevail here. Prediction: Plainfield 29, Decatur Central 22

  8. It is sad to see what has happened to the teams in the NCC. The NCC was always one of the best conferences in the state. Richmond was always good until about 2003. Richmond beat Lafayette Jeff every year from 1988-1997. Richmond even beat Jeff in 1991, when Jeff beat Carmel for the sectional championship. Marion went to state in 1988 and 1990, but lost to Ben Davis. Anderson always played Lafayette Jeff tough. Richmond played Ben Davis tough in 1992, but lost 24-14. Ben Davis went on to state and lost to FW Snider in 1992. I never thought I would see the day when LCC could beat Richmond, Anderson and Muncie Central in football. Oh MY!

  10. Also, you (like Easter) have skin in the game when it comes to these programs and choose your words wisely. You default to “coach speak” and cringe at what the modern day shock jock and sports media guys seem “bulletin board material.” I have zero skin in the game, call it like I see it, am right more often than I am wrong and for some odd reason it pisses you guys off to no end. Pretty hilarious honestly.

  12. BC, winless at 0-5, has been beat by over 35 in 4 occasions this season. The only time they didn't is when South Newton beat them by 13.

  14. No disagreement on your assessment Coach. But that was some awful football out there by both sides....much of that goes on the players themselves. Scoring a TD and chasing each other over who get's the game ball vs knowing that going for 2 had to be a predictable option?? Seriously??

  16. Quite a few, but i don't think that's based on any animosity toward BC. While the starters were probably pulled, the subs aren't probably thinking about humanity. They want to score as bad as the starters did.

  17. It was in the first half. I think it was the second quarte. I think it was Penn's third of fourth series. Penn was heading toward the South Endzone. They started the game driving toward the North.

  20. Why did Walters bring Harrell back as OC? Walters needs to be fired after the season assuming there is no turnaround happening this year. He's reaching Hazell levels of incompetence. Bad investement.

  21. How good is Mississinewa? It was 28-0 after the first, 50-0 at the half, and final was 57-0. Mississinewa played the JV and Freshman offense the 2nd half. They played starting defense 2nd half because Alex played starting offense. Mississinewa had 5 interceptions.
