  1. I think this thread proves just how hard it is to be a football coach. The job of a coach is to push your athletes to their maximum potential, if not you are doing your players a disservice. There is also a fine line in this because you are also trusted with the health and safety of these players as well. The first couple of weeks of high school football are hot in Indiana, especially on Friday nights. You have to push athletes in order to survive the first couple of weeks to make it through a 48 minute game of varsity football. Difficult difficult situation to be in as a coach. Time needs to be spent heading into the season training kids on how to prepare for a game or practice properly hydrating throughout the day. I think it was mentioned earlier in the thread, high school athletes feel invincible until they aren't. Without proper preparation, no one is. I feel for the coaches and I feel for the players, difficult situation to be in at Snider.

  2. I assumed they were talking about Tecumseh Middle School in Lafayette that feeds into Lafayette Jefferson High School

  3. Pretty proud of the job the Tiger Sports Network has done so far with our broadcasts. We took it in house this year after a few years with Indiana SRN. No charge to watch. Big numbers so far, especially for away games.

  4. That you don't read. I'm a college graduate who gives back to the community. What is this now, a dick-swinging contest? As for the buyout offer, give me a price. Here you go: "Speaks what exactly? I love God, family, and my neighbors. What else do I need? I'm a college dropout who gives back to the community and could probably buy you 50 times over. Not sure what not knowing that word says about me. So enlighten us. Go ahead and copy and paste an example of "forceful manner" since you have nothing else to do. Going back to work, will check in later. "

  5. What are you smoking and where can I get some of it. Merrillville isn't in the top 25 yet, and they beat Andrean by almost 4 scores. Andrean is a really, really good 2A team, STOP RIGHT THERE, DON'T GO ANY FURTHER

  6. They substituted freely in the 4th period.

  10. If I’m not mistaken, you are the same guy that had Pike beating CP like a mule. Well how’d that turn out?

  14. You are correct. CP was up handily…28-0 I think at one point. Merrillville is very talented at skill positions but oline is average at best. Defense is very fast but can be run on vs teams with good and big olines like CP. Merrillville is definitely a top 20 team in the state and I would argue top 15. CP on the other hand proves again that they can play against fast, athletic teams this year but how will they fair vs bigger and just as physical teams as them??? CP defense is much improved from last year and the offense is a power running team with a passing attack to TE’s. Boring but effective.

  16. Talk about a blast from the past! Grew up in Houston when UofH was just doing this stuff. We were running it as early as middle school. Had a crazy defensive coordinator who always showed you the "proper" tackling technique of driving your facemask through the sternum, but he went full speed without a helmet. By second week of practice, he'd opened up a big gash on the bridge of his nose and you could tell who he demo'd the technique on because they had a huge blood spot in the middle of their chest on their jersey. He devised a way of turning the veer into a single option. Usually involved about 2-3 personal fouls in the first half, but by the second half the QB had no desire to even get close to attempting a second read, much less getting to the pitch component. Wouldn't work nowadays as defenders would be called for spearing.

  17. wow it will be a real gamechanger for them if they lay it on portage

  18. As I said. im not a big Merrillville person. But there team is different than years past they don’t quit and they get stronger as game goes on. I believe there QB is top 5 in passing in state? And they have 2 RBs that were a top 3 duo in state last year that haven’t gotten going yet. This team is definitely a top 10 overall in state. But time will tell fully expect the purple and white to win by a huge margin this week with a shutout

  21. You haven’t seen how bad East’s defense is. I get giving up a lot of points to two ranked teams but getting sliced and diced by Seymour last week was unacceptable. Unless we make major changes, BNL and Floyd Central will put up a lot of points on us.

  22. Buzea has been working with his seniors since they were freshmen. First class to say that. They'll be fine. Should beat Penn. Slight favorite over Carroll. When Carmel punches, CP will punch back, but I'll take the Greyhounds. 7

  23. Crown Point is going to steamroll through the Duneland and likely Penn again. I just think someone like Carmel or a Hoosier Crossroads team is going to be an AWFUL matchup for Crown Point if they get past Regionals. The Bulldogs have been killing the north with their lines. I don't think it's working again this year. It's likely Crown Point loses their advantage on the lines at Semi State unless they get Zionsville or Harrison. They took a step back in the passing game this year now that the QB is at Miami(OH). Trevor Gibbs is basically their entire offense. The 6'4 Indiana recruit is used all over the place. TE, H Back, RB, Wildcat. Feels like rinse and repeat from last year in terms of results. And the offense was arguably more dynamic last year.

  24. That is not within the jurisdiction of the game officials. It’s between game management and the IHSAA.

  25. Because it was a 14x convicted black man killing a legal Ukrainian, white female immigrant who went on to say, “I got that white girl.” It was completely racially motivated and doesn’t fit the liberal, propaganda MSM’s brainwashing plan.

  27. I don't know about unique or old school, but a run around end is a trick play for the Cathedral Irish, so far this season. The offense is quite conservative and has scored only one TD and two field goals total so far in three games. Granted, the opposition has been quite talented, and that won't change much for Friday night. I'd like to hear the school song a lot more!

  29. 6-6 against Good 4-5 against Sanders (and the future doesn't look good on the win side) 2-7 against Brown. Hall of Famer wins this battle. Hope this helps.

  30. Pioneer over Caston easily. 7 NM fumbles (3 lost) kept the Comets in it. Was impressed with the physicality the boys in Fulton played with. Caston will be very solid in 2026! But Pioneer will roll this week. North Miami will have to play better/cleaner to have a shot this week. Trojans can pick the score Give me the Maxinkuckee Madmen over Winamac in a close one this week. No particular rhyme or reason why. Just a feeling down in the gut. Side note… Last North Miami home game (week 2) the farm ground to the north had a fresh layer of manure spread on it that day. Don’t foresee any in the forecast this week!

  32. Their record doesn't show it, but South Adams is a very dangerous team in 1A. I think they have a chance to go to LOS. I don't know what the south has, so can't confidently say they win state, but I think they are the favorite to represent the north this year if they can get by Madison Grant whenever they would see them. Other than that, I don't think any of the other teams make it to Thanksgiving week, but there will be some Sectional champs and maybe a regional champ or two sprinkled in there.

  33. In an effort to be more efficient, so we can move on to more productive topics: Others: “The NCAA really socked it to Michigan, in the form of multiple “show causes, fines & suspensions. Deservedly so, as they were proved to be despicable cheaters.” Temptation: “The NCAA is a toothless clown show.” Others: “The evidence — at least the part the Michigan people didn’t destroy or conceal — showed a pervasive, well thought out, and well-funded scheme to steal signals.” Temptation: “There’s no proof that any competitive advantage was ever gained.” Others: “With the scheme in place, they won a national championship. Without it, they clearly took a step back last season.” Temptation: “But still beat the eventual national champs in the big game on their own field.” Hopefully, that’ll take care of it and we can move on.

  35. Googles "vociferous." Hmmmm.............."in a loud or forceful manner." DONT USE WORDS YOU DONT KNOW THE MEANING OF! Rainbows and unicorns? You're posts wouldn't be half as annoying if you actually posted a "rainbow and unicorn" type of post once in awhile. If it wasn't for topics like this one, you wouldn't contribute at all. You're a fire starter, that's it. Nothing more. A sad figure.
