  1. 100 yard ... just "thinner." It does change the dynamics a little, but the thinner field blunts some of the "get to the corner and it's a TD." I've seen and coached/played in variants of this at the youth level and the game still keeps several of the things that make for good tackle football. We had one time where we showed up and the other team only had 9 kids that could make the game. Rather than have the other team forfeit, on the fly the refs and us coaches came up with a variant of 9-man ball so that the game could still be played that day. Had alter some things like having to have 7 on the line, but all and all, the experience was a success and definitely beat leaving the field with a 2-0 win and clean uniforms. All in all, if its a question of 8-man or no-man, 8-man's the better option ... for the sport and the kids.

  2. Another Friday night illustration of why we should chain the refs to a light post in the parking lot.

  3. OK, when I stated “everyone hates FC” it was rhetorical. I haven’t held anything in, just sick of listening to you jerk yourself off over a couple of conference titles and winning what 2-3 tournament games? Bloomington North (0-1) at BNL (1-0) Columbus East (0-1) at Columbus North (1-0) Jeffersonville (0-1) at Seymour (0-1) New Albany (1-0) at 2A #3/#5 Indianapolis Lutheran (1-0) Whiteland (0-1) at 5A #6/#7 Floyd Central

  4. I can only comment on our game this past Saturday. But, we had a crew from IFOA. They did a Friday night game, and then did our game on Saturday.

  6. It really comes down to this. Going to any games at the pro level is financially irresponsible. The best seat in the house is from your chair. Or go to a high school game for $7.00, pay zero in parking, there and back in 3 hours.

  13. How exactly have I been “jerking myself off?” Lol. For talking positively about the team I follow? Like Columbus East fans did for 10 years? Yes, I know their success was a much bigger deal. You don’t really have an issue with what anyone says unless it’s me and it’s been that way since the first day I’ve posted on here. At least charge me rent, man.

  17. I can't tell if you're trolling or not, and I'm trying to state my words clearly and non disrespectfully, as I have multiple friends at BNL--- as this is NOT a shot at them... and I also have some admiration of how Coach Tidd has started his coaching career 9-4 with a sectional championship game appearance is very solid. BNL did NOT dominate, like at all, 2A Brownstown who was replacing 19 starters from last seasons state runner up squad...

  21. Problem is, you’ve got a Dallas County judge looking to bolster his reelection chances by currying favor with the fans of the local team. This scenario plays out all over the country in eligibility disputes, even at the high school level.

  24. I’d say I’ve been pretty humble. I predicted Gibson Southern to win last week. I’ve been on record all week saying how tough Whiteland is. I’ve talked about how Bloomington South is the best team in Southern Indiana. I’ve been around this game for 30 years. I’m not the one talking nonsense on this thread. But yeah I’m gonna take up for us when I have to.

  25. I’m not saying anything that’s not true, but I’m glad you can finally admit that you hate us down here. You’ve been holding that in for some time. I’m not the guy that came on here and guaranteed a HHC Championship, a 35 point win over Whiteland, or that Martinsville is a “great program.” I didn’t start that argument.

  26. Don’t get me wrong, don’t like Carroll one bit, but they are loaded this year. They took HSE to the woodshed, 28-0 in the first quarter, 40-0 in the fourth quarter, they did whatever they wanted to a supposed top 7 team in the state. More beat downs are coming from Carroll this year. CG is legit, 24-14 type of score. SAC teams, watch out as it will get ugly, except maybe Dwenger

  27. Hate to be nitpicky. Not sure if you want me to be. But it doesn’t look like there should be white between the navy stripe and the red stripes. Navy should be immediately followed by red on both sides.

  28. If Martinsville is good enough to compete with this BNL team I don’t see them losing to South by 3 scores.

  29. Kind of how it was when we didn't have the transfer rule in place, but flipped. Not saying the transfer rule is a good thing. It is what it is, but the private schools might be getting a taste of what the public schools feel like. Can't speak for all privates, but there are stories of 10-15 years ago, kids go to a public school all the way up till freshman year, then end up at a private school. Could be for the private school education who knows. All I'm saying is since the implementation of the transfer rule, there are fewer dominant privates racking up two or three state championships in a five year period. I also understand that the success factor plays a huge role in this as well and is doing its job also.

  30. 8-man or 11-man football - let the school decide, let the community decide, let the players play and learn lessons for life.
