  1. It’s just as arbitrary as any other stage of fetal development, IMO.

  2. As a member of IHSAA they are treated just like Rensselaer Central. So yes Now of course they have a storied history of success, we can go in over and over and over again of what some feel are unfair parameters to P/P/Charters. I am so exhausted from all of that I choose to ignore any and all.

One of the origins of Sesame Street ... https://www.thedailybeast.com/chester-pierce-the-forgotten-tale-of-how-a-black-psychiatrist-helped-make-sesame-street Interesting article concerning the role of Dr. Chester Pierce and the Black Psychiatrists of America to utilize the influence of the growing media of TV to address institutional racism.

  4. I often come across items, somewhat like the "Something Uplifting" items that catch my attention as interesting, but probably don't warrant starting an entire thread just to share the interest. With that in mind, I'm creating a new thread for one-off items that folks would like to share with others.

  5. I’m not saying VL isn’t worthy. They are a solid school....but the SIAC is going to drive right by GS every time they go to play in Vincennes lol

  6. Sounds like the majority thinks GS should have gotten the offer to join the SIAC before Lincoln. Did a little research. Going back to the 2012 season, Harts first year at GS. No one doubting the Jasper choice. GS overall 76-12. 18-7 playoff record. 3-0 vs Lincoln. 3-3 vs Memorial Lincoln overall 43-30. 4-7 playoff record. 0-2 vs Memorial

  7. Huh? don’t think they make the SIAC better? Have you seen the history of VL and Jasper’s sports programs? I guess the Big Ten didn’t get any better adding Nebraska or Penn State either? Sorry but VL and Jasper aren’t Rutgers. I would agree with you if the SIAC added Day School and Evansville Christian.

  8. I hope they leave week 9 intact. Check out the matchups: Mater Dei - Reitz at the Bowl Central - North Memorial - Castle Harrison - Bosse Jasper - Lincoln That would be a great slate of games with conference titles/shares on the line.

  9. I think uts exactly the football coaches that dont want to join. I would bet if you looked at all the other sports at Boonville all there trams play multiple SIAC teams yearly. Case in point with the football program. 4 wins 22 losses vs SIAC since 1994. Only 2 of those wins were regular season wins. Just saying

  10. Along those lines; how about the reproduction of All in the Family and The Jeffersons last night? Fantastic job, especially since it was live. And how groundbreaking were those shows, and Norman Lear, for that matter? I am amazed, as I watch reruns of them now that our dad let us watch, or that he even watched them himself. Dad and Archie Bunker could have been the same guy. I still remember hearing the N word on them, and being shocked then. It is crazy to think about those shows and think, no way those shows would be made today. Funny that both episodes chosen for last night had George saying it. It was garbled a bit on the All in the Family episode, and I must have missed it in The Jeffersons.

  11. This doesn’t cover what will happen if a pitcher throws over 120 pitches. If the pitcher starts the 7th inning with 119 pitches, what happens? With these rules in place now, the umpires should have control to stop the pitcher. They can pull out players in football due to safety why not the other sports?

  12. I wonder how many people weighing in on this subject have ever read - much less understood - the Court’s opinion in Roe v. Wade. Here’s what the Court said, in a nutshell: Previous cases have established the existence of a constitutional right of privacy, and the Court ruled that allowing a woman to control her own body, including the decision whether or not to terminate a pregnancy, falls within this right of privacy. Therefore, until the point where the fetus could not survive outside the womb, i.e., “viability,” the mother’s right of privacy trumps any other decision. However, once viability is established, the state’s interest in safeguarding the well-being of its citizens, including its unborn citizens, starts to become more important, and more restrictions on the mother’s decision-making process are justified. I don’t expect the Court to overturn Roe v. Wade. In fact, I look for them to reaffirm the basic principle. But as always, the devil will be in the details. Technological advances since Roe have pushed the threshold of “viability” back. I expect this conservative court to give states a little more leeway in determining when the state’s interest trumps the mother’s. But that’s all.

  14. JMO I prefer 10. Not interested in 12 with 2 divisions...if that’s what would happen. I hope all the city schools and two parochial schools can continue to compete in all sports. I’m not sure that happens if 2 more come in. Lots of good overall athletic programs in the area that would fit nicely in SIAC but as an old fan of the SIAC 10 is enough.

  16. According to my source, Jasper was always looking SIAC and had Lincoln ready to commit early on if the SIAC was open to the idea. Same person told me Boonville is not the school that got cold feet, it was the 2 schools they were trying to pair up with. In any event, I like where the SIAC is as a 10 school conference and hope they stay there.

  18. How do you come up with support? I merely pointed out that the quoted meme sounded an awful lot like Ryan's screed ... and Bioshock fans know how well that turned out. As for the entire quote, sounds a lot like a politician trying to convince folks that the other folks are evil, or perhaps more civilly, misguided. In the end, it tends to be much more about the implementation than the rhetoric.

  19. I personally dont think the SIAC got that much better with the addition of Jasper and Vinn. It just got eaiser on the Athletic Directors in reguards to scheduling. SIAC would have still been one of the best conferances south of Indy without the addition. Speaking from a selffish aspect I sure would have loved seeing the kid from GS playing in the SIAC his last two years of high school if he is as good as the say he is.

  20. Think there was a four team deal that included GS and the fourth team bavked out the day before the announcement. Should say a four school deal.

  21. Does the PAC now have to revote on the merger, if so why would they vote to merge now. Seems to me there would be better off staying with the eight teams. The addition of the four Big 8 teams would not strengthen the conference anymore than it is now and in football it would allow a little more flexability to go out and strengthen your schedule if you so please. Maybe Booneville is scared of the SIAC since Bosse almost beat them last year. Sure dont understand their thinking.

  25. A lot of schools are in the class they are because of what other kids do though. Our enrollment is impacted pretty significantly by a number of kids who are physically and/or mentally unable to function much less play a sport. We get kids who transfer in, including just last week, from FW that get kicked out of their school because of what they did. How is it fair we are in a class that has more students than us with that population not having any impact on their enrollment? If your argument is that kids are kids, you are more than welcome to visit. Better hurry, there are only two days left to do so this year. 🙂

  26. https://www.centergrove.k12.in.us/activitycenter lol, that "without increasing the tax rate" is another disingenuous line big government types love to use. So they were getting close to paying off another taxpayer funded bond or series of bonds, but instead of doing the honest thing and letting the tax rate decrease they immediately started looking for another taxpayer funded boondoggle, one they could crow about not costing taxpayers "increased taxes". Classic political malarkey, pure and simple. I didn't know so many White River Township citizens were that gullible.

  30. https://mises.org/wire/envy-inc And hope with responsibility is anathema to a progressive liberals worldview. They want hope, resources, income, etc. all provided by the state, with no personal freedom and responsibility involved. From the comments to Mr. Deist's opinion piece:
