Scheduling for Boonville is going to get even harder in 2020 when the gave to try to find 9 games.2 points
-
That may be true but that is not going to keep them from scheduling SIAC teams for Basketball. This is just my opinion but a 4a school that would rather play in a conference with all schools much smaller is afraid of the compitition they will have to face especially football. This is a great topic because of the past talk from the Big 8 snd PAC about not getting any respect from the SIAC and you finally get your chance and you walk away ftom it. The state of Indiana is unique because it does not matter how you do in the conference beacuse every team in every sport gets a sevond chance in the tournament, so why wouldnt you try to play the best compitition you can during the season to get you ready for that second chance.2 points

In Football since their inception they are 56-32 in the MSC, with a couple of 6-2 records in the MSC. So what happens to their conference record when they replace Eastern (Pekin), Scottsburg, Clarksville, Corydon, etc., with Columbus East, Floyd Central, Jeff, BNL, etc.? They have competed favorably in the last several years, with a strong 3A team that won a state championship in Basketball this year. But take away a couple of anomaly years, and there are a lot of 1-4/2-3 seasons against HHC opponents. I never said they didn't have athletes, They are a growing school system and I'm sure there's a lot of school shopping that goes on in the West Clark system, but I stand by my comments, if they join the HHC, across the board, year in and year out, they don't fare much better than Madison does. So I'll call your common sense, and raise you with some actual records.2 points

And it appears that it's going to get some $45 million+ in gains for the government for tax evasion that it revealed ... so far. That means it actually made money. The question is whether it will be Trump's own folks or someone else doing the leaking. Want to find leakers? Look no further than 1600 Pennsylvania.1 point

Muda. If NASA would find something with that same old lump of cells on Mars, would they consider that there is life on Mars?1 point

Muda. You are correct that instead of offering a tax decrease, they kept the tax rate the same. But to label it as dishonest is disingenuous on your part. Tax payers understand the tax rate they are paying. They should be satisfied as long as it doesn't increase. And the property tax rate of only the school portion is effected. Not the entire property tax rate. With the number of school districts that are needing to fund their General Fund, not Capital Projects, with referendums we should all be praising schools like Center Grove that are fiscally astute enough to be able to provide high quality facilities without increasing taxes.1 point

Unlike Trump, crooked Hillary actually committed several crimes. There was no real investigation. There was no way the Great Hussein would allow her to point the finger back at him.1 point

This has devolved into another discussion about Cathedral which is not what Slice60 was getting at. The basic question is why is the revised rule being applied to basketball and not to football? The only reason I can think of is that the revision to the rule had been proposed prior to the reclassification for basketball so IHSAA took that into account when setting up the basketball classifications. If the change in the rule for classification isn't going to be applied to football next season then maybe the change for participation quarters (54-3.1) shouldn't apply next year either.... (I am in no way advocating for that. Just making a point) Hopefully the IHSAA has recognized that this is an issue, and is discussing this now and they will either issue a revised football classification list, or they will explain why the rule change will not be applied. I'm not sure if there are any other teams that this applies to, but I think the IHSAA needs to be consistent here. Either both Cathedral football and Marquette boys basketball play up, or they both go back down.1 point

INDIANAPOLIS CATHEDRAL FIGHTING IRISH Coach: Bill Peebles, 6-6 in 2nd year at school, 80-71 in 15th year overall DATE OPPONENT EASTERN TIME OA 0.0, DA 0.0 Aug. 23 at Noblesville 6A 7:00 pm Aug. 31 at Cincinnati Moeller (Ohio) 7:00 pm St. Xavier Sep. 6 at Cincinnati Elder (Ohio) 7:00 pm Sep. 13 Indianapolis Chatard 3A 7:00 pm Sep. 20 at Cincinnati St. Xavier (Ohio) 7:30 pm Sep. 27 Jeffersonville 5A 7:00 pm Oct. 4 Louisville Trinity (Ky.) 7:00 pm TBA Oct. 11 at Brebeuf Jesuit 3A 7:00 pm Oct. 18 Center Grove 6A 7:00 pm I would say that these 9 games won't impede any D1 players aspirations or stunt program growth both in the short or long term. Also, development of players is not strictly 3 month period August thru November. That is archaic thought, cmon man, Get with the Times Old Man 😎1 point

If I understood correctly, Boonville and GS were in and a few hours before the announcement Bville backed out.1 point

Sounds like the majority thinks GS should have gotten the offer to join the SIAC before Lincoln. Did a little research. Going back to the 2012 season, Harts first year at GS. No one doubting the Jasper choice. GS overall 76-12. 18-7 playoff record. 3-0 vs Lincoln. 3-3 vs Memorial Lincoln overall 43-30. 4-7 playoff record. 0-2 vs Memorial1 point

As a member of IHSAA they are treated just like Rensselaer Central. So yes Now of course they have a storied history of success, we can go in over and over and over again of what some feel are unfair parameters to P/P/Charters. I am so exhausted from all of that I choose to ignore any and all.1 point

I think folks on the other side of this issue would respond with something along the lines of, Yes, a person does have sovereignty over their own body, until exercising that sovereignty negatively impacts the body of another person. They'd view it as akin to the old libertarian line about, "Your freedom to swing your fist ends at my nose."1 point

I don't understand how a person who opposes abortion on the theory thathuman life begins at conception -- meaning from day one the embryo is an innocent human life -- would still be willing to allow an abortion in cases of rape or incest. If the operative moral principle is that the child has a right to life, why do the circumstances surrounding the baby's conception matter?1 point

So you support the tactic of restricting access to an abortion by criminalizing the medical procedure? Do you believe medical professionals who currently perform abortion procedures are murderers?-1 points

Wow, to think my sister-in-law or the medical professional would have been jailed 20 years ago if this law were then in effect. Such evil.-1 points

https://www.centergrove.k12.in.us/activitycenter lol, that "without increasing the tax rate" is another disingenuous line big government types love to use. So they were getting close to paying off another taxpayer funded bond or series of bonds, but instead of doing the honest thing and letting the tax rate decrease they immediately started looking for another taxpayer funded boondoggle, one they could crow about not costing taxpayers "increased taxes". Classic political malarkey, pure and simple. I didn't know so many White River Township citizens were that gullible.-1 points

So it's a uni-party political witch hunt. Big deal. If such a scandal had broken during Obama's administration and the democrats had controlled Congress would we have seen this level of taxpayer dollars spent of investigations, hearings, etc.?-1 points
