I won’t say it was a fluke, however I will say they won in Double Overtime 38-31. Twice all the momentum was with Westfield (TD before end of regulation and first OT) and running the ball at will should have went for 2 and they would have won.

This year the game was never in doubt after midway through 1st qtr. Westfield made Crown Points offense uncomfortable taking the run away forcing the pass and  pressuring the QB relentlessly.

Crown Point lead the entire game last season, by two touchdowns at one point if I recall? Westfield was playing catch up the entire game. Look, if I can give you guys an entire Indy Top Ten this year minus Crown Point, can the North get just a morsel amount of credit for taking out the HCC two of the last three seasons?

Hey guys, First off I apologize I have been absent....not that you were worried...just work was really busy for once. 

I want to say Congrats to CP on an amazing win over Carroll. I was pulling for them against Westfield, unfortunately Westfield was just more than they could handle. CP has proved me wrong when it comes to the Northern teams. I think that they are at the door of being one of Indiana's elite teams, I think they just need to get a long term commitment from an Indy school to help them take that next step. 

Congrats to Brownsburg for finally getting that job done in November. 3 solid tight wins, feels a lot like Ben Davis from last year. 

I think this is the first state title where there isn't a metro Indy or One of the Big 4 (BD, Warren, Carmel or CG) represented in the state title game since 1998. For that we should all celebrate.

I have been wrong a lot this season. I hope we see an amazing football games with this year's slate of games.

while Ben Davis and Warren Central are the closest to Indianapolis. Brownsburg is literally maybe a 15 minute drive from Ben Davis. Westfield is about a 10 minute drive to Carmel. Center Grove is the absolute furthest from Indianapolis.

I agree on that game last year. It seemed it took Westfield a half to shake off the long bus ride. Last night, CP never was able to shake it off. As for the end of the game, yea, Kendall Garnett was practically unstoppable late in that game. Should have went for 2 with him running the football.  CP did not have to worry about him last night, as over the summer, he did what Temp called the High School Portal transfer to Warren Central. Also, last night, Westfield did not have their top receiver, Gabe Armaboles, who was injured after a 49 yard pass reception against Zionsville three games ago. What they did have was his younger brother, Alex, who was all over the field from his defensive end position.He had three sacks and forced a fumble.

What does Crown Point running the clock on New Pal have to do with Westfield? 

Gotta stick with Crown Point for 2025. Carroll appears to have hit their ceiling. Snider will continue to struggle in the trenches against schools twice their size. I have no clue what is in store for Penn.

What do you consider Metro Indy? Brownsburg is a 10 minute drive on a good day from Ben Davis, and Westfield is probably 25 away. They literally fight with Carmel all the time about what land to annex or call theirs. If Carmel is a Metro Indy team and Center Grove is a Metro Indy team, then Westfield and Brownsburg are Metro Indy teams.

Center Grove HS is 6 miles from County Line Road and Indianapolis on the south side. If it is further than BB from Indy limits, it’s not by much.

Yeah, and based on location of downtown Indy, Center Grove is closer to Monument Circle mileage wise than Brownsburg HS and Westfield HS.

The point I am making is if they consider Center Grove and Carmel (both previous State  Champions in 6A) Indianapolis in their post then you would have to consider Brownsburg and Westfield Indianapolis. None of the 4 are in Indianapolis or Marion County.

Understood your point. Just didn’t agree with your geography. CG not furthest away from Indy. White River Township in Johnson county borders Marion County.

Okay, so Center Grove is 6.1 miles from County line road and Carmel is 6.4 from 96th street. Brownsburg is 4.3 miles from Raceway Road. Regardless if Carmel and Center Grove are considered Indianapolis metro then Brownsburg and Westfield probably should too.

Never said they weren’t. I don’t know of anyone that lives in the Indy metro area said differently.

I never stated that you or anyone within the Indy metro said differently. The post you responded to was informing another poster that stated that finally there is no Indy Metro team in the 6A State Finals that Brownsburg and Westfield should be considered Indy Metro if Carmel and Center Grove are. Ben Davis and Warren Central definitely are because they are in Marion County.
