Looks like the ONLY scenario in which Westfield would get CP at home would have to be:

Zionsville beats Carmel Round 1

Fishers wins at HSE in Sectional 4 final, which would send Westfield to Fishers for Regional

Zionsville winning seems to be the main factor, any other scenario would have Westfield home to HSE or Fishers through one being home, other away for Sectional final, or the Odd sectional# determining Regional host

EDIT: This is assuming Noblesville don't pull 2 stunners lol

Just make sure to leave the "bus excuse" in Hamilton County if that's how it plays out...

No excuses, as a fan it's fun going up there, and if it was a seeded tournament, probably would result that way also, just saying it'd be another tough road game in Semistate as last year. Seems most likely route for the North unless Carroll has something to say about it in the Regional.

Nah, I get it...not sure if it was you but someone on here claimed that Westfield's poor performance in the semi-state last year was due to not having a chartered bus for the road trip.

Wasn't me for that one. Still wish they would have gone for 2 and the win after scoring late TD, run game was cruising at that point, getting 2 yards should have been easy money.

I agree with this sentiment. They had the momentum at that point.

Perfect time for the Indian Express! 🤣

Determining Home Team
Classes 2A, 4A, 6A
Sectional final game non-host, if applicable, or odd sectional number.

Carroll will be home for their sectional final, CP will be away. So, CP would get Home for regional in that scenario.

Thank you good sir!

@BTF@Komets2727 what are your thoughts on the Snider-Elkhart game this weekend?

Low scoring game. I'll roll with Snider 17-10. It's no secret both teams are known for their defenses. The difference for me is that Snider is more battle tested. Maybe this is a homer prediction.

It is my take on it as well. The teams you play have to mean something. Cathedral for decades would go into the 4A tournament with a bad record and come out state champions.

If you look at the two best games each team has played, Elkhart went 1-1 and Snider went 0-2...The difference is Carroll and Warren are two of the best teams in 6A...While Concord is really good and Penn is well back to that beatable giant everyone has come to love.

Pure hunch on my part, but I have a feeling Snider rolls Elkhart by double digits. I'll take the coach/program with a history of success over the upstart with a 1st year coach and an offense that has failed to show up against any team with a pulse.

I'm a little hesitant. I've seen Snider lay an egg against unfamiliar opponents more than once............regardless of home or away.

I think strength of schedule is more important now than it was 20-30 years ago. Back then you only had a handful of teams to worry about. Not you have about 15 teams to worry about. You just can't play a cupcake schedule in 6A and expect to go very far. Success breeds success. Carroll wouldn't be where they are now if they continued in the cupcake conference (by 6A standard) they were in. They grew as a program when they entered the SAC. Same with all the suburban Indy schools. If you want to be the best, you need to know what the best looks like in the regular season.

Sure, high schoolers can find a way to lose any game, but I'll be surprised if Snider doesn't win by two scores.

I know you Fort Wayne guys don't like Sagarin, but after seeing the human polls I thought I'd cross reference with the computer. There is a clear line where you can say "one or two of these schedules are not like the others."

16 Snider – schedule 34

17 Noblesville – schedule 13

18 Lawrence Central – schedule 11

____________________________THIS IS THE LINE BTW______________________________

19 Elkhart – schedule 103

20 Penn – schedule 88

________________AND ACTUALLY THERE IS ANOTHER LINE HERE________________

21 Carmel – schedule 15

22 Zionsville – schedule 4

23 Homestead – schedule 31

The only other teams that have worse schedules in 6A than than Elkhart and Penn are Jeffersonville (158) and Tech (252), and Crown Point (57) is the only team in the top 20 with a schedule outside of the top 35.

So disappointing. The NIC and their rules are a huge a detriment to Elkhart and Penn.

Good stuff. I don't completely dismiss Sagarin, I check it all the time at the high school and college level. I just think some on here look at it as the "be all end all." There are obvious flaws with the system, like Columbia City being a 9pt favorite over Dwenger for example. But I do think it's valuable for the purpose that you just used it for.

Agreed. Definite limitations.

The NIC has been bad and getting worse for football for 30 years. It's about as bad for football as it has ever been now that we're back to running the league like it's 1990 and playing a full round robin.

@BTF@Komets2727 what are your thoughts on the Snider-Elkhart game this weekend?

I see Snider winning somewhere around 24 -10 type of game. I really think that Snider will be the best defense Elkhart has seen all year while Snider has seen Warren Central and Carroll defenses that are head and shoulders better than Elkhart. Just like most games, turnovers could be the equalizer for Elkhart. I think Elkhart has to get a defensive touchdown and have at least 3 Snider turnovers as well to win, which could be possible.

I watched video on Elkhart and they seem to be susceptible to a good passing team, unfortunately Snider is not that so this could be lower scoring than 24-10. I struggle to see how Elkhart is going to move the ball on Snider. You had a first hand view of Elkhart when they played Penn and I watched quite a bit of video of that game, what are your thoughts?

Westfield has already made arrangements for a charter flight if that happens :)

I had an up close and personal view....just sayin

It was a slobber-knocker, and basically a defensive battle.

I would expect the SAME thing with Snider/Elkhart as it was with Penn/Elkhart.

It will/should come down to one play, series...either way.

There you go! Book a few of the jets that fly out of Indy Exec Airport on SR 32, fly into Gary International or Porter County Regional in Valpo and then charter some busses to Crown Point.

That's correct. I expect a good game, but think the Lions come out on top by a score or two, still thinking around 6 to 10 point margin.

Penn admin needs to see this info and be ashamed of it.

THERE IS NO REASON a 6A blue blood should be playing such a crap schedule and be 7-2....two losses to local teams....it makes me want to throw up.  (I know you have similar thoughts, just venting into the void)
