Elkhart does have a good defense , the 3 D1 guys are very good . They also have two very good players in Jones( son of Antwon) and McCullough. My point was, I don't think Snider will be overwhelmed by Elkhart's defense, after already seeing Warrens .

Yes I understand and agree. Was just throwing out who the recruits were and where they have committed. no issues

Tennessee commit Dye is an animal . Been a long time since I've seen a 6-5 high school D lineman run like this dude can. I think a good throwing team can shred Elkhart though .

You can tell that kids a beast . Penn D line and linebackers actually played a good game limiting him to like 50-60 yards . I think this could mirror the Penn - Elkhart game. Low scoring . Think Snider will need to get their athletes out in space , running up the middle against Elkhart is tough sledding .

Don't see many backs like him..he attempts run through the face mask on almost every play..Snider lacks the team speed n the ol end around hasn't worked all year..Carroll may be better suited for this matchup this year..wondering how the heck did Mishawaka let him go??

I believe Orozco came from Mishawaka as well . He impressed me as much as Dye , Orozco is a Dude as well . So Elkhart got 3 really good players , 2 from Mishawaka and 1 from Penn .

Sounds like they pieced together a solid team with a few seniors looking to make a run..to be able to transfer n play ur senior year at a 6a school n turn them into conference Champs has to feel remarkable.. after this year do you see the Lions having sustainability in 6a?

If the coach can get them to play disciplined football. They have some stud Sophmores . I'm sure Antwon Jones Jr will be getting offers by next year. There is no shortage of athletes walking the halls at Elkhart high school . Time will tell if it translates into sustainability in 6a.

Just like with Crown Point, Elkhart needs to have a sustained run of excellence to show they aren’t a 4 year class wonder. Every school can get that special class of athletes and make a run for a couple years, but when they graduate, what follows?

Things have become a little more difficult for Cathedral to possibly challenge Lawrence North. They have not had much luck with the injury bug. Before the season started they lost their top O-lineman for the year.

They lost their starting RB Bonds in week 2 (unsure when he comes back). they lost a WR in the Center Grove game for the year. Before the Kickoff of the Warren Central game their 2nd best lineman was a scratch. Last night their Sophomore RB that has been lights out (Dangerfield) left the game with an injury. 
They have a week off and then North Central but they need to get healthy if they want to challenge Lawrence North.

CHS starting center going down caused massive interruptions in the offense. And obviously the bot he'd snap/fumble up 14-0 on the CHS 10 w 1:43 in the 1st half brought WC back in the game. A 14-0 halftime vs 14-7 was a big deal. We have depth at WR and RB still, but line injuries are no bueno. Cathedral's biggest struggle in 6A is we just don't have the numbers of the 6A, especially w linemen. 500 boys vs 2000+ boys in a 6A is a major equalizer for the Irish.

Ok…I guess….but the enrollment of 900+ to little over 2000 must work just fine given the number of state titles won by Cathedral in 5A.  Could have sworn Cathedral won against BD and CG this year. 

Cathedral can play with anyone in the state.

Just the fact that LN hung 33 points on Warrens defense is enough for me to think they can beat anyone in the state .

Warren’s offense will usually spot ya 7-10 but still a good point.

Speaking of…the Warriors’ “wildcat” formation when they get inside the 10 has been lights out the last two weeks.

Nearly unstoppable.

The Irish played very conservatively last night.  It was as if they just wanted it to be over.  Three turnovers lead to Warren Central "drives" of 5, 12 and 2 yards.  Very uncharacteristic for this year's team.  They had excellent field position for most of the game, except before the fumble near the end of the half.  Cameron Koers didn't play his best, some credit to the WC defense for that, as did the OL have a tough night.

I received some information after the game that makes me hopeful that the injury situation will be better in the next week or two.  Things are not as bad as it seems, but the Irish must play better than they have the las two games.  After the Center Grove game, the offense has been quite spotty, to say the least.  The good news is the defense has played a bit better in the last two games.  Two weeks off with benefit the team both with preparation and healing.

A welcome bye week before the tournament starts plus a warm up against NC is likely exactly what the doctor ordered for the Irish.

I think you misunderstood his statement. I took it as him stating Cathedral can play with these teams, but what really offsets is the depth. Not that they can't but if they sustain some injuries at offensive line where depth lacks it can make a difference. It has happened at the 5A level too when the Irish played in 5A. They did not win State every year they were in 5A. In 2017 they lost some good lineman to injury and had nothing for a very good Columbus East squad. They will manage through.

Yes they did those turnovers giving an inept WC Offense a short field did them in. WC wildcat to Bell in goal line situations was pretty stout. With a defense like theirs they could run that a little more as Bell is a bruiser.

I think QB 1 has done a great job this year replacing a QB like O'Neil. I would bet he came away from that game with some lessons for future games. I agree the defense has played well. It will be interesting to see if they can bring pressure on LN's QB to offset their WR speed and if they can bottle up the LN RB.

Yes they likely are enjoying the benefit of getting healthy and tuned for a battle.

I will restate Westfield has really raised my eyebrow the last 2 weeks. They had a loss at Brownsburg and lost their QB in qtr 3, but they were well in that game giving Brownsburg all they could handle. After that loss they thrashed Avon, Fishers, and an on the upswing Farnklin Central.
