HH is very talented.

Will see if they have the depth to win in 4A    Though the loss to Gibson Southern shows there was no guarantee that they would have won 3A

Nothings ever guaranteed though is it?  Chatard pretty much took Roncalli to the woodshed during the regular season, and what time do the Trojans play on Friday night?  Just sayin...

HH had an easier road through sectional than GS.

Not to open up a ‘pound for pound’ discussion, but I would argue Sectional 32 has been deeper than 24 the last few years. A 3A school has won 5 out of 6 tries.

Memorial - 2019, 21, 22, & 23

Reitz - 2024 (no 3A team in sectional)

Heritage Hills - 2025

What about Central in 2020? Memorial almost added a 5th one if they held on for another minute.

Kind of stunning Reitz runs the table in the regular season but loses in sectionals in 22 and 23.

Best wishes to Roncalli DC Alex Bettag. It would be interesting to see him be responsible for game planning against the HH offense. HH ran a pro/Wishbone scheme when he played at HH, so no inside knowledge. Roncalli got a jewel of a coach and man in Coach Bettag.

Agree....Alex is a great dude and got a pretty raw deal at Southport. Still, can't believe he went to the P/P dark-side.

Perry Township is football purgatory right now.  Southport and Perry Meridian are just awful.

Not helping themselves by running out good people....

Anyways, hopefully Roncalli and Heritage Hills take care of business, so the Patriots can try to extend their unbeaten streak against the Rebels/Royals (changelings Benedict Arnolds).

This would replace the 1999 HH-Roncalli matchup that never happened. Jett's father was a senior on that team but was hamstrung against Mount Vernon (Posey) in the sectional final. Bring back the bone!

Temp’s Updated Title Odds:

Roncalli - 60%
Fort Wayne Dwenger - 40%

That seems fair. I think the saints will need to play lights out, and a bit of luck to get past Roncalli.

Just thinking that both teams have obviously improved since their first meeting but one has improved much more drastically.

Thinking this is going to be one of the best games of the weekend

Agree. Maybe I'm naive, but I think all the games have potential to be good.

I'll give you a million guesses.

Pretty sure neither team is the same as they were in Week 1. If they are, then that's a problem.

Roncalli is averaging nearly 40 points per game since the Chatard loss.

Undoubtedly both teams have improved but Roncalli has by leaps and bounds.

If week 4 is your line of demarcation then that could potentially be cut two ways. Serious argument of which one people prefer.

Roncalli-

Points Scored: 436

Points Against: 187

Dwenger-

Points Scored: 274

Points Against: 96

Seems like most people think Dwenger’s defensive performance against Roncalli was more about Roncalli then about the Dwenger.

Just in case people wondered if you add in weeks 1-3 it would add:

Roncalli-

Points Scored: 29

Points Against: 55

Dwenger-

Points Scored: 77

Points Against: 18

Good stuff right here.
