Heard Judson started new QB and had 6 turnovers, and still had a shot, pretty crazy

Yeah, their defense kept them in a lot of games this year. Offensive timing and turnovers were the achilles heal for the jays  in their games against decent squads. That often happens when you have a fairly young team like they did.

I give this team a lot of credit for continuing to fight all season long. They had a huge blow week 1 when they lost their best player and D1 commit.

Lambert will have them locked in this offseason and look for the Jays to be an extremely tough out the next 2 years.

the fact that that sentence had to be made in the 1st place is just so infuriating

Yep.  Nobody is happy with how that went down.

and not winning Semi State keeps them in 1a.    Judson

Still a chance that both South Putnam and Providence move up next year.

South Adams @ North Miami- This might be a game where whoever scores last wins. I don't think either team will be super successful on defense, but I think the Star Fires will score on more possessions than the Warriors.

Sheridan @ South Putnam- I think that the Black Hawks weak schedule finally catches up with them and the Eagles will mow through them in short order on their way to SS.

Milan @ Providence- Milan's season comes to an end while the Pioneers keep on chugging.

LaVille @ Pioneer- I think this will ultimately be a low scoring affair. Both defenses come in playing extremely well and both teams are very well coached. This one will come down to who gives up the fewest big plays and who turns the ball over the least. Gimme the Panthers in a close one.

Agreed, it’s nice seeing it on the way up to Bloomington and Indy. I do love the double decker press box they have.

God's country, I tell you

And then there were four. Who's punching their ticket to Lucas Oil this Friday?

Pioneer controls the game if everyone is healthy.

South Putnam rolls Milan. Ultimately I think SP wins it all this year.

If Max Preps is right Pioneer has had 5 turnovers. 2 fumbles and 3 INTs. South Adams has 14 INT’s, 12 fumbles with only 2 being lost leaving a total of 16 turnovers. I don’t think Pioneers offense can be stopped. They had 2 drives last Friday (minus the last one) that didn’t end in points and those were the 2 fumbles. It’ll be close but who ever turns the ball over will be the one who loses. Pioneer by by a TD.

I got SA by a 3. I don't think that there is a single 1A team that can stop this passing attack. I will note in their regional game vs North Miami on the opening drive they had a critical roughing the punter penalty the gave North Miami 8 points. SA also dropped a potential touchdown pass on the very next drive where they didn't end up scoring. This game could have easily been a three score game.

To be fair, North Miami had a couple critical penalties taking away potential points on a couple drives. Point being it was a great game between 2 very solid teams. In football, mistakes are bound to happen both ways

Anyone have insight on Pioneer's D-Line?  The way to stop a passing attack in 1A tends to be with a D-Line that penetrates.  Forget zone, forget man coverage.  If that front line is constantly showing up for dinner in the backfield, unless that QB's mobile as hell, in 1A that's the way to control a passing attack.

They'll put pressure on them. I think Pioneer wins this game by 2-3 scores.

SA definitely has a really good passing attack. QB can sling it better than any 1A QB i've seen in a while.

Did we say that they wouldn't have seen a team like Pioneer?

What a wild out of the blue comparison to a team from week 1. Let's hope Pioneer isn't half the team that Marion Local is because that would result in a 2-3 score win like i predicted. I want it to be a  close game as I like good football.

As an Adams County fan I want the Starfires to win. Just a bit concerned as they struggled against Marion Local, Bluffton, & AC on stopping the run. Also had some blocking struggles as well against the better defenses. Maybe the Panthers will turn the ball over just enough and the Starfires can prevail. Hopefully the Jets can have a similar result against Andrean to prevail as well. GO STARFIRES! GO FLYING JETS! GO ADAMS COUNTY!

I'm going to definitely defer to you on this since NJSP has had the opportunity to see Pioneer up close and personal this season.  Unfortunately, most of my in-person viewing this season was in 6A and I didn't get opportunity to watch some one 1A ball this season.  Quite a shame too as I love 1A/2A ball.

I recall the old days when LCC's defenses were lights out; especially in getting to QBs and never giving anyone's passing game an opportunity to firm up in a game.

One a slightly different note, I'm happy to see Pioneer getting back into form again and being a threat.  For a while, I was a little worried that Success Factor had crippled their program.  Glad to see that that didn't happen and that they'll be a name to discuss this season ... that is unless South Adams beats them tomorrow night.

Not saying Pioneer won’t get pressure, but people tend to overlook the o-line when thinking about South Adams. Yes, defenses can get exposed by the passing attack because SA uses a lot of concepts and run heavy teams don’t see passing like that. But the oline also works more on pass blocking than most teams work on pass rushing. May not run the ball well, but they do a great job pass blocking.

Pioneer hasn't seen a team like SA though

LaVille last week was the closest thing offensively…..they dropped back to pass almost 30 times. Pioneer played a soft 4 deep zone early on not wanting to give up any big plays, and switched to man later in the game. I think Pioneer’s speed will serve them well in the secondary and the D-line. They’ll be able to bring some pressure. One thing that hurt Pioneer last week was LaVille’s no huddle which they ran from the first drive through the majority of the game. It really gave the Panthers problems at times. Not sure if SA has that in their bag, but it would be a good strategy if they can do it from time to time.

I also think the Panthers will look to limit SA possessions by controlling the clock with their methodical running game. It definitely hurts them not having their QB healthy…..he’s a big time weapon that isn’t available unfortunately.

Speedy secondary and D-line may serve them well, but will Pioneer have anyone to jump and compete for the football with #9 for SA? If not, it will still be a long night even with quality pressure and coverage. He is a special player and a hard matchup. I will take South Adams by 8
