Sports_Aaron Posted October 20, 2020 Posted October 20, 2020 Figured this would be a good thread to keep updated. Is the first one EC Central and West Side? https://www.nwitimes.com/high-school/ec-central-cancels-playoff-game-ends-football-season-due-to-positive-covid-19-test/article_e9aacf86-3c9c-5f10-80fa-821f23c38d8b.html Quote
Coach Nowlin Posted October 20, 2020 Posted October 20, 2020 Quote The Cougars (2-5) have advanced and will now prepare to face Gavit or Hobart in a Class 4A sectional semifinal Oct. 30. The Gladiators (2-1) will try to extend their last season in school history when they host the Brickies (6-2) on Friday. PHJIrish Posted October 20, 2020 Posted October 20, 2020 I really hope that parents, students and fans follow the professionals and do all we can to assure that we make it through the playoffs. We need to wear our masks and distance ourselves from others as much as possible. It will be a shame if we have to curtail the playoffs because we got careless. 4 Quote

casualfan Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 How is a team allowed to play a home sectional game on Friday in a county now labeled “red” for its increased cases? Quote

But really disappointing the school hasn’t released anything official yet, only leaking it to the press. Unless that was the plan.... Quote

Irishman Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 Similar to previous topics; keep your personal opinions (includes political views, conversations about politicians on the National, State, and local level; infection rate stats; mortality stats; and all the other nonsense that has shut down so many other topics this season) out of the conversation. Whether you think it is a good idea to do or not is irrelevant. Yes it is sad to see kids lose their season and careers end, but it is a reality and balancing act many schools are dealing with. As someone stated, let's avoid rumors. If there is a link, then please include it. Best of luck to everyone in the playoffs. 2 Quote
