I don't think Avon goes anywhere unless Brownsburg goes with them. They have a long-standing rivalry. FC would make more sense. They're a geographical outlier in the HCC and at least would have shorter roadtrips with Marion County schools than going to Brownsburg and Zionsville. Franklin Township is exploding in population, though, and will likely be, enrollment-wise, on par with the larger MIC/HCC schools before long. They'd be one of the stronger teams in the MIC in the non-revenue sports. I'd make a call to Tech, who honestly fits very well in the NCC everywhere except geography. However, IMO, they'd struggle to compete in the MIC in just about every team sport except basketball.2 points

Kyle Ralph is New Pal's throwing coach and has been involved in track and field in some fashion since he stepped into the building in 2013. A large number of football players are involved in track.2 points

The “Mad Bomber.” The days before dink and dunk became the way to go. And most importantly, a Notre Dame man.2 points

I’m biased but they’re be in my top 5. No order but I’d say ND, hate to admit but USC and Michigan, BYU, and I always liked Colorado with the black pants white jerseys and gold helmets. Don’t know a ton of fight songs but I do like Tennessee and Wake Forest.1 point

Marcus Freeman doing something Brian Kelly had no interest in doing or maybe wasn’t allowed to do; connecting with the former players. I’ve read there’s up to 300 former Irish players going to the spring game tomorrow. Pretty cool to have that kind of a turnout If true. A bummer that Buchnar isn’t playing tomorrow, maybe this opens the door for Ron Powlus III1 point

Beautiful day outside today so I’ll play nice. Notre Dame DOES boast the second best fight song in the land and their uniforms are top 10. The recent change in gold keeps them out of my top 5.1 point

He doesn't lurk very well though. If he was on here he would have already posted on this topic by now.1 point

I often opined during my child rearing years, now having children of my own makes me understand why some species eat their young.1 point

One of the pioneers of the stretch game. I honestly don't think the NFL would exist today if it had not been for these innovators. He was also drafted by the Packers, but chose to go to the Bills in the AFL.1 point

When your dumb ass takes get called on the carpet, resort to attacking the person. Not surprising bob. Glad I am on the correct side of history.1 point

Pickle and tomato. I folded it over with those in the middle then covered the bun top in mustard.1 point

Gotta go Old School my friend. Omar Epps is sharp, but I gotta give it to my man Clarence Williams III. That 'fro is to kill for.1 point

No apology needed. My daughter is bringing me one from Erika's Place in Cicero as I type this. Erika's also has a location in Noblesville. Both are outstanding, but The Tin Plate is better.1 point

Sometimes my oldest son tests whether my own are a priority for me. Something about 16 year old boys that makes you think tigers eating their young might be on to something.1 point

Robert. I think we are finding that Luers has a large amount of respect statewide, regardless of the size of their school.1 point

Carmel didn’t disappear in the 90’s, they just didn’t win any state titles. They won multiple sectional and regional championships and subsequently had multiple semi-state appearances. That decade of “disappearing” is a decade of excellence for all but 5 or 6 programs in the state. Just goes to show you how good Carmel has been for so long. But yes, good topic and discussion nonetheless.1 point

Winning 9 state titles and 7 runner-ups spanning 5 different decades is the definition of sustained success. They have the most sectional titles of any program in the history of the sport. They are the walking definition of a blue-blood.1 point

That's Aaron Pitman. He has been a finalist for a number of professional PA jobs (most recently the Pacers and the New Jersey Devils). He announces for BD, North Central, Anderson, and several other schools. It's what he does, and he is really good. Thanks for noticing. I'll pass this along to him.1 point
