  1. As a Jasper fan I'm not offended at all by preseason rankings. Jasper has only lost two SIAC conference games since the 1970's, so rank us where you see fit. As for the PAC v SIAC nonsense: The difference isn't which champ is best, or which bad team is worst. The difference is the middle. If you really think the 4th and 5th place teams in each conference are equal then there really is nothing anyone can say to change your mind.

  5. May wanna go do more research. Merrillville has a crap ton of transfers again. From Andrean, westside, Ben Davis, Hobart, lake central, Hobart. Again I’ll go out and say merrillville has the same if not a little more talent than last year. Everyone has been replaced except the NT grant. Which you can’t replace a kid of that caliber. 2 Safeys with D1 offers, 2 LBs with D1 offers, Dline is probably all D2, DBs are all Gonna be good they all have intrest but nothing yet. offense side.. QB was replaced by someone better that played last year till week 6 when he got hurt. We have 4 RBs that all have D1 offers (at other positions), and a D1 Wr( marshall) I can go through and name the players if need be 🙂

  10. I think Purdue and IU both had interest and never pulled the trigger. I’m guessing once he visited Miami O he loved the fit. I think it seems like a good fit. IU hasn’t been in on many local kids the last several years outside of Brady Allen. For good reason. The recruiting formula at IU has paid off the last few years. ( Now that’s sarcasm )

  11. I think it's hard to speculate that Merrillville was far and away the best outside of Indy when: 1. They didn't play any teams from the other three quadrants of the state. 2. They were blown out by the only team they played outside of the Duneland. Carroll lost to Westfield by a smaller margin than did Merrillville and were within striking distance half way through the third. I guess that's the only comparison we have to go by. Both good football teams last year for sure.

  12. Lol. Purdue went 4-8 and 2-4 the two years prior to last years breakout season. Purdue is on their 3rd defensive coordinator in 4 years and this offseason was the first time since 2019 where they haven’t fired the position. Purdue has gutted its position coaches on the defensive side of the ball multiple times in the last few years. IU’s had two coordinators take head coaching positions elsewhere two of the last three years. That’s a good thing. IU fired OC Sheridan (thank God) and Charlton leaving for UNC allows Allen to go back to calling plays on the defensive side of the ball. McCullough left Notre Dame which isn’t surprising at all. Allen just plucked the defensive line coach from your savior PJ Fleck and hired RB and WR coaches who were coaching in the NFL last year. Per usual, you don’t know what you’re talking about. Your blind hatred for Allen in favor of Brohm has clouded your judgement.

  15. Was saying this to friends last year....put IU in the West and see a different result. I have never really been a Fleck fan either. I still remember when he took over at Western Michigan. There were a few kids from the MIC that had committed to WMU. When Fleck took over, he revoked the offers to the players from Indiana schools.

  16. Maybe I can help him with his point. In 2013 undefeated SIAC #1 lost to the PAC #2 in the sectional championship.

  17. Two years ago Southridge had 2 wins over Gibson Southern so if you feel GS would have been in the discussion for a SIAC title then Southridge would have been as well.

  18. No. that’s what you would like to say but we all know bosse always pulls out a tough game out of nowhere. bosse couldn’t even get by Pike central/Princeton some years and you want me to move the goal post and change the equivalency bosse is on the same level as the bottom of the pac and they have done nothing in the last 10 years to prove otherwise

  20. On point. But look for this situation to be changed soon! Far too much and too many times, the "Sectional Championship" is in Round One due to the 'ping pong balls' The regular season should count for something! Yes, the IHSAA gets their "dime" following the Sectional levels.....But I think with abundance of the ability to watch an unlimited number of games online at the Sectional level ..for free... This will be addressed sooner, rather than later. Enjoy the freedom now, it won't be this way for the ensuing years.... There is far too much to be gained by charging for the viewing in the comfort of one's home, than by the continuation of allowing the ability of viewing on line for free, at EVERY level!

  21. Let’s not cut Memorial short. 5 trips to state finals under Hurley is the most impressive stat in SW Indiana football. The best thing GS has is the success factor that allowed you to dodge Memorial and Chartard last season. 😂

  22. Which illustrates how much deeper the SIAC is than the PAC. Our second place conference teams were in 2A state finals and 4A semi-state. See the difference?

  23. Because 4th and 5th place in SIAC is weighted more than 2nd or 3rd in PAC.
