The same can be said for most/many high school teams. IMO, DB & SS are the most difficult positions for high school kids/teams. Need to be fast and able to make quick adjustments at speed and, oh yeah, and then come up and make hit on a RB coming at you full speed who often outweighs you. Where do I sign up? it is time to take a look at strengthening ERMHS schedule. on a year by year basis, take a look at the top 2-3 teams at the SIAC and leave them on the schedule. take the rest of your schedule and get tough teams from out of town. this would be good for indiana football and raise the profile of the siac.

I think he's joking and not hinting at anything nefarious. @AG's from the Pioneer contingent which often ended up on the threads back in the day with the LCC folks; for obvious reasons. The city speed / county speed discourse harkens back to the 2011 season when LCC was gearing up to play Scecina. Recall that Lafayette-area speedster Danny Anthrop was burning up the gridiron in his senior year that year. In the run-up to the title game, there was some inference from a couple Scecina posters that, while LCC had speed, they had not seen/experienced the "city speed" that Scecina had ... [edit: note that this was the reference used by the Scecina folks themselves]. Anthrop torched Scecina in the state title game that year for over 250 yards and three TDs including something like a 70-yard TD romp on LCC's first play from scrimmage as LCC easily dominated 38-7. That launched a whole genre of city/county speed jokes that has been a staple among the Lafayette crowd and others on GID for the past decade or so.

To be fair. At this point it may sound like hyperbole; however, I’m OK with no Duneland team being ranked in the Top 25 until they actually beat a team from outside of NWI that’s good.

Not a lot of local flavor making it to the regional rounds this season but here are the matchups none-the-less. 5A #1 Snider (10-1) @ #4 Mishawaka (10-1): Battle between 2 teams that have occupied the top spot in 5A at some point this season. Snider comes in with a lot of momentum taking care of business against a real good North team. Mishawaka did what they were suppose to do in a pretty weak sectional. Gotta give Snider the love in this one as their SOS and resume' FAR exceeds that of the Cavemen. 4A Northridge (8-4) @ #6 New Prairie (11-1): Rematch of lasts years semi-state battle. Another crazy story line brewing in Middlebury as the Raiders take down an undefeated 2 years in a row. Where-as NP has DOMINATED in their march to a sectional title that many thought would be closer. Does Northridge have what it takes to get by a red hot Cougar squad with revenge on their minds? Lots of story lines coming out of this one and I honestly have no idea what to expect. But after seeing the way NP has handled it's last 4 opponents it's tough to bet against the Cougars at this point....But their appears to be some magic left in those Raiders... 3A #1 West Lafayette (12-0) @ Knox (9-3): Radtke gets a sectional title at a 5th different school, but his prize is a red devil juggernaut coming to Community Field. Knox has put together a solid campaign in 2022; the kind that was expected when Russ took over 3 years ago. But I cannot see the Redskins getting past this one. WL has been one of the best mid-sized publics the last 15 years. 1A #4 North Judson (11-1) @ Park Tudor (9-3): NJ is darn close to being 12-0 in a TOUGH HNAC. Park Tudor comes in with an offense that can put points on the board but also gives up a ton on the other side of the ball. The Blue Jays shouldn't have a problem with the Panthers as they rolled through their sectional to get to this point. NJ should score on about every possession one would think.

Pretty impressive. Don't forget 22 straight wins, which is the longest win streak in SW Ind in quite a while

The game last year was on a Friday and the 6:30 start time this Friday is accurate. I can’t imagine MD ever picking a Saturday at Triton again after the 2019 game

The Irish defense has been great; special teams have been great. Offense has been ok. They get some good drives going, but then get away from what is moving the ball so well, and the drives stall. Defense and special teams setting up scores is HUGE.

There's a ton of stuff within 10 minutes of the school. Evil Czech is a good craft brewery up on Main Street. There's a Hacienda on Lincolnway a few minutes from the school if you want Mexican food. Rulli's is a good Italian place. Plenty to choose from. Parking will be your biggest issue. If you can park in the school lot, go for it. Otherwise, the streets around the stadium are narrow and fill up fast.

As @Yuccaguysaid, the high school rule on DPI does not include a specific provision about uncatchability. However, there is no foul for DPI until the ball is in the air, and if the QB is throwing the ball well out of bounds, no one is going to call DPI because any contact did not prevent the receiver from getting to the pass. So, if the North coach was complaining that it should have been DPI, then no, he doesn’t have a leg to stand on.

Didn't surprise any of us familiar with both teams. Sullivan's record doesn't do them justice. They have gamers and very skilled, dynamic playmakers. Not to mention their strength is Linton's supposed "weakness". Sullivan compares favorably to Lincoln if that helps. Well coached, dual threat qb, highly skilled playmakers on the outside with a legit WR1. Defense bends, but they fly to the FB, and have opportune playmakers on that side also. Solid special teams. Kicker puts it in the end zone & hit a 40yd fg last night IMO, the arrows would be a handful for any 2A school in the south. Ask Owen Valley. That said, great win by the Miners. Just kept battling. Lot of heart on the Miner's side of the field .
