Now where did I complain about fairness? I was there both evenings, and this was a hard fought, mostly defensive battle. It was one of those game where both teams deserved the W. No way would I pay tens of thousands of $$$ for a kid to go to high school. Unlike my years at Cathedral, when they and Brebuf were the only local college prep schools, many in the burbs have just as good if not better academic and athletic facilities Now if my kid was a super athlete, I'm sure Cathedral would supply an all expense paid trip each school day to 56th and Emerson. Westfield has no choice to where they play, since they are in big boy 6A football. Can't move up any further. Perhaps your Irish should concentrate on how to beat Brownsburg :)4 points

Take your medicine and send your kid to Cathedral. You can justify Westfield's futility all you want. It's just like Chatard. Play in the wimpy north of 6A and feel good about your program for the season until the tourney. #JVAllstars in the meantime, we'll play two classes up and deal with it. Prob beat all the 5000 enrollment teams when it counts and grab 6A drip. And you'll still be whining about fairness.3 points

By Labor Day? What is today? Im ALL IN on the dismantling of Florida St Bill O'Brien absolutely running circles around Norval's squad ...can't ask for a WORSE start for FSU after the egg last week and now this getting SHELLED at home2 points

I was texting an older brother during the game about how Kelly's teams never won big games. I made the comment that even at ND, he was always blaming someone else.2 points

In the case of Chatard/Hanover Central, travel was certainly an issue - Hanover Central would have to basically drive 3-3.5 hours to get home on Friday then turn around and come back. Between 12-14 hours on the bus for the kids over a 2 day period. Add that HC's only score was a 1st Q kickoff return TD with Chatard effectively shutting down their offense otherwise. It was the smart decision for HC. No conference championship was at stake, its not an historic rivalry, obviously it doesn't affect playoffs (because no regular season games do), etc.2 points

A big game like New Pal/Decatur Central was called after it was 21-all at the half. Both teams are in the same general area, so why couldn't they have played that game out today instead just calling it a no contest? I was kind of looking forward to see how they game was going to turn out.2 points

The race for 2nd begins this week. South Vermilions beat the 2 teams that are probably the best teams they play until sectional. I think North Vermilions is the only team that has a shot to beat them. Fountain Centrals at Riverton Parkes North Vermilions at the little Trojans Seegers at Attica Visors at The Woofs I’ll post my end of season predictions for the order of finish later on. If you enjoy this page go ahead and make a donation. It feels almost as good as a lap dance at Xanadus. I swear to God it does1 point

You should feel bad for me. He’s allegedly a Packers fan and I’m really ashamed of that. I’d rather not claim him.1 point

It was funny watching him pound the table. A little bit of “Old Brian” showing through?1 point

My assumption.... In a TIGHT game they may in fact want the yardage on the PAT. More than not, it seems to be assessed on the ensuing KO. Thank you for the clarity.1 point

It's possible the youth league has supplemental rules for something like this and wants it enforced that way. But as others have said, under NFHS rules the TD counts. NCAA used to be this way until a few years ago when they made UNS a regular live ball foul to curtail this type of activity. It's not common in HS but I would not mind this rule change.1 point

I didn't take it that way....I have no problem admitting if I am wrong. Everyone knew he had the tools....I just questioned his leadership and choices to put himself in the public limelight via social media. I questioned if he could really be the face of a franchise and lead vets in a locker room. So far, he has been outstanding on and off the field. Hope he is successful...I don't wish "bust" on anyone, and it would be nice to see the Bears have an excellent QB...for a change. 😉1 point

To be fair, the boys basketball semistate run occurred in 2023. I think it just simply came down to the EIAC not wanting to expand past 8. Madison was pitching to join at the same time as Jennings County was. Not sure if it was a package deal pitch or not but I wouldn’t think so. Personally, I think the EIAC should’ve taken them both. They already have big school and small school divisions in football so it’s not like they’re playing seven conference games. Put Jennings County and Madison in the big school division and move Batesville back down to the small school division.1 point

I think that depends. If the coach calls a timeout to talk to the Referee and says “Look at this play, you guys were wrong,” just tell him “I can’t look at that, put it away.” Problem solved. Now, if it goes beyond that, then you start thinking about using the flag. But certainly not as a first resort. Calling an unsportsmanlike conduct foul on a coach has significant repercussions. Not to be done lightly.1 point

Keep Rushville who craps the bed in nearly every sport but reject JC who went to 4A basketball semistate not too long ago, what an excellent conference administration!1 point

TD should have counted. Mark off the (clearly to be accepted penalty) on the ensuing kickoff. Personal foul - Taunting.1 point

Dwenger 24 - North Side 14 - Saints showed me something playing Moeller tight until the 4th quarter. This is a must win for them or the season will spiral out of control. North got rocked to sleep on Friday/Saturday by another mean Indy team Luers 49 - Northrop 28 - Knights get a defensively challenged Bruins team who do have some offense this year, but Luers too much in this one Carroll 56 - South Side 7 - Chargers recover after facing the Indy juggernauts and happily welcome South to Charger field. Frustrations will be taken out in this one Wayne 28 - Homestead 17 - Generals go to 3-0 against a disappointing Spartan team. What a beat down Sparty took from Noblesville Snider 49 - Concordia 6 - Panthers offense started to show some life against East Noble. Cadets 2-0 start is surprising, but the big step up in competition will prove to be too much1 point

Tonight might be the first time I've ever pulled for USC. I don't mine that Brian Kelly is gone from Notre Dame, I just didn't like the way he did it. It's mighty strange rootin' for the Trojans.1 point

Lol, it's fun to hit the mark once in awhile. It's really a testament to how good the HCC is. How bout them Millers?1 point

Nice road win…..way too many penalties and missed tackles on defense, but made some huge plays when needed. Offense was out of sync most of the night, but a young o line will get better.1 point

Actually, I found out later today that Cruz did play in the TH North game and had guided them to the 20-0 early lead before ending up losing the lead and game.0 points
