On a side note it could also be stated that CYO Indianapolis is the original Pipeline to Cathedral (opened in 1919) and Sacred Heart. In the 60’s the archdiocese built and opened Scecina, Chatard, Chartrand (became Kennedy then merged with Sacred Heart to become Roncalli), and Ritter. So when PhJIndy says legacy students some are grand children and great grandchildren of Cathedral grads even if their parish feeds to Scecina, Chatard, Roncalli, or Ritter. Those have parish schools have been feeders to Cathedral for 105 years.2 points

My wife is a Southern Wells grad. I see they are in a 4-way tie for the most azz whoopin's on the victim's list. Wow. Kudos to those kids for padding up to practice and play every week. That has to be a good lesson in perseverance.2 points

IU 41 - Northwestern 24, final Over 500 yards total offense, another dominant performance. Bowl eligible!!! Lots more out there for them. 7-7 red zone offense, 5TD, 2 FG. Read em and weep haters!!!1 point

Heck, I just hope we can get past Heritage Hills. Our sectional is brutal. I couldn’t care less about hypothetical matchups against 5A teams. FWIW, while I really like our team this year, we’ve had better ones (IMO).1 point

JV game might be on Center Groves YouTube page or football website (I haven’t checked). I haven’t watched the Irish frosh yet, but from what I am hearing and the results are showing the Irish future is very bright mixing those Freshman with the current Sooh’s and Juniors currently producing for Varsity. last night probably wasn’t fun for defensive fans or for the CG fans because of the narrow loss. For those that like Offense though Coach Moore and Coach Peebles offensive players played very well. The difference in the game really was the Irish defense got a couple of stops when they needed at the end with some INT’s definitely was a battle between 2 very good teams1 point

EC had a common opponent with Ben Davis and Center Grove: Moeller. EC put up 38 against them and beat them pretty comfortably (38-28). Ben Davis thumped Moeller. But CG needed OT to win by 1. I can’t say I watched Snider. But they barely survived (19-18) a Mishawaka team that had played Northwood to OT. EC beat Northwood in the state finals: 42-14. Last year’s EC team was one of the best blocking HS football teams I’ve ever seen play. Pretty much every play they ran was executed flawlessly by all 11 guys. And nobody they played was even able to slow their offense down.1 point

Very sad. Sam was true blue. Another larger than life member of the Memorial family lost. Prayers for Lori and the family.1 point

WL lost 3 regular season games last year. 2006 was the last time WL lost 3 regular season games at home. WL lost to Tipton, Seeger and Sheridan at home in 2006. WL went 0-9 in 1994. I don't know about the top 10. It might have been last year. Logansport is really good this year.1 point

It’s kind of a standard Brebeuf game at this point. This is the third time this year they’ve had 49 at half. This one and the Geurin one stayed close so they kept scoring in the 2nd half. When they played Lafayette Harrison they had a decent lead and played the JV the whole 4th qtr. Their offense is unreal for 4A. If you look at their scores, they average over 40 a game but one game was called at halftime because of lightning so they only had 27. Last week they only had 18 but they were playing in a monsoon and the other game they were under 30 was against a school 6 times their size. If Brebeuf even had a mediocre defense, they would be a clear #1 in 4A. Unfortunately they might have one of the worst defenses in 4A so every game is like this.1 point

The biggest flaw with Sagarin is that they don’t take into account games played against out-of-state opponents. That can be huge for SoS for some of these schools. I constantly go back to Calpreps because they rank every team in the nation based on the same metrics. Equal playing field. Maxpreps uses them for their rankings. Just looking at the state Top 25 for Indiana is enlightening because SoS is glaring. It isn’t just wins and loses but also quality of those opponents as well as scoring differential. Here is a link to the current All-State rankings. https://calpreps.com/2024/ratings/Indiana_all.htm 16 of the Top 17 are 6A. Reitz is 18 New Pal is 19. Look at their SoS It’s not even comparable. You actually have to go to team 33 to find a SoS lower than either of those two As I have said many times, head to head matters the most Common opponent is also significant. Reitz best win is against a team ranked 1617 in the nation NP is against 2927. Neither of them would stay on the field with a top 10 6A team1 point

According to Calpreps, New Pal has the second weakest strength of schedule in the Top 25. Come playoff time that will hurt them. Playing meaningful 4th quarter minutes prepares a team for pressure situations.1 point

Lol, yes. Reality? Columbia City rolled through the first half of their season like this last year as well. The meat of their schedule is at the end. More losses looming for the Eagles.1 point

After the safety, Franklin Central received the ball and put a nice drive together. Went around 90 yards. They capped it off with a short run for the TD. Franklin Central 9, Fishers 0 1:28 left in the first quarter1 point

I will say this: You’ve got a really top notch officiating crew tonight. Lots of big game experience.1 point

give me: chatard, new pal, mishawaka, jeff, concord, decatur central, martinsville, EV reitz, EC, vs penn1 point

Maybe so. But postseason success against your class doesn’t mean you would be good against higher classes. We all see what 5A looks like in Indiana most years. I’ve seen a few years where the 5A winner would struggle vs the 3A winner. The 4th best 4A team this year could probably make the 5A championship game this year and would likely win0 points
