And yet, admission standards have not been lowered, and graduation rates have not suffered. #1 Reason? Marcus Freeman.3 points

Yes, the Tiger Sports Network will stream the game. Despite having to pay a fee to GS, there is still no charge to watch. Link to be posted.3 points

Quote me correctly, I said this is Carroll’s worst team in the last 5 years. Doesn’t mean they aren’t “good”, it is actually a compliment to how well they have played the last 5 years. I personally don’t think they are a threat to get to state as Carmel and Westfield are just better this year and in previous years Carroll was a threat to go to state. Hell, they didn’t even win the SAC this year….2 points

Two things that can be modeled is what Coach Moore has done at Center Grove: 1.) Youth football, if your program wants to model success head on down to Bargersville and check out Center Grove Bantam Football. Coach Moore implemented stuff with a lot of buy in from the Youth Football Board. Emulate that and your success will go way up. The Center Grove offense will line up in many formations but their bread and butter is the Wing T and all of them could run it in their sleep they have been doing it since they were 8 years old. 2.) Speed development overall. Center Grove when it joined the MIC was not near the top of the schools with speed. Coach Moore being the Football HC and Track and Field HC put a large focus n speed development and they had to out of necessity in playing the Warren Central and Ben Davis. Fast forward to today and Center Grove has as much if not more speed (even though they had a hiatus from the MIC but are going back). Those are 2 areas that take care of 1 "fundamentals" and 2 "speed". The old saying is speed kills and couple that with fundamentals and discipline. You are on the right track.2 points

I’d say he’s done awfully well, looking at the body of work. Anyone who had greater expectations than what he’s achieved was unrealistic.2 points

Before NIL there was this belief that Notre Dame could not compete with the big boys of the SEC due to admission standards. Hell, Kelly even said it on the way out. That’s no longer the case and it’s no coincidence that now that NIL is in place, the Big Ten has won the last two titles (and is in position to possibly win a 3rd in 2026). The money cannon has leveled the playing field.2 points

Lol!!! Nah, you are wrong again. I happen to think it will be a good game and that Cathedral has a good chance to win. No dog in this game so whatever happens, happens. Won’t be any I told you so after this game, but most people have written in ink that New PAL is winning 5A since the year started. I just happen to believe Cathedral can play with them…2 points

Unaware, I get all my 8 man info from Coach Tippman who has done an OUTSTANDING job leading the way from this position in IFCA Executive Board and has taken the 8 man thru IFCA from start to what you see now, all along with his duties at Snider and HC. I just get all my info from Sports You, maybe I will ask there2 points

Even more odd - Reitz was 5A when it was the largest class. So they have played Ben Davis, Center Grove, and Avon but never the Patriots. I remember watching Avon at the Reitz Bowl.2 points

I always tell BOTH HC's that I will NOT start the halftime clock UNTIL they reach the locker room door!. I also tell both HC's at the pregame meeting: At at the 3 minute mark of both pregame and halftime, we will knock on their door for them to get back on the field. If for some reason they delay and do make it back in time.....well?? As for clearing the field (band/etc.) ...I've only had one occasion that I had to toss a flag. The home team AD absolutely TOLD me to do so! He had had enough of the Band Director's hijinks I guess. Turned into a 15 yarder as both teams had to navigate the band doing their 'thang' for 20+minutes of a 15 minute published halftime. Ugh.2 points

The Irish beat IU, Georgia and Penn State in the CFP's last season. I see that as somewhat impressive.😉1 point

I agree that it's pre-mature to put him in the same sentence as Leahy, Parseghian, and Holtz. Way pre-mature.1 point

ND isn’t winning a natty this year, you can take that to the bank. Best win is USC. Not sure they are even making it. I got their odds of even making the CFP at less than 50%1 point

Cmon now, that is a bit of a reach. Those coaches had a very uneven playing field that was top loaded with 10-15 each year that were really good and a bunch of mediocrity behind that. Big 12 was Oklahoma and Nebraska and jack crap, Big 10 was Ohio State and Michigan and the little 8, PAC 10 was UCLA and USC for a while, SEC was Alabama, Florida and the rest were just there. With NIL, Indiana and Vanderbilt are legitimate teams, unlike the past 80 years. Point being, the Irish will get tired of not winning a title and will run Freeman out of town…1 point

As I said, the body of work. He’s 38-12 in his first head coaching job, including an appearance in the championship game, has taken their recruiting to a new level, and is a credit to the University. I’m well satisfied with what he’s done and what he’s become. And I think his best days are in front of him. If he stays at Notre Dame, I really believe one day he’ll be mentioned in the same breath as Leahy, Parseghian, and Holtz.1 point

The Isaacs/Dinan/Tippman combination was a lethal force in the late 90's & 00's. I regularly dubbed them as the best program in the state during those times. No different than college, good coaches move on. And Dinan is doing a great job at Carroll where he's won 8 of his last 9 against Snider. The Chargers are officially the benchmark of NE Indiana.1 point

The Massey webpage has it right....it's one of the other places has it named differen to Onone can't match it.1 point

Can you ask the AI to calculate Memorials true Massey Rating? For some reason it thinks Memorial is 15-4 and has them rated 66 in the state instead of in the 20's or 30's with GS and HH. I'm guessing it doesn't know Memorial and Reitz are different schools.1 point

I've worked games where the football game was just a pre and post-band performance filler. The band attracts more fans than the football team.1 point

I have been saying this for the last 2 years. The SEC hasn’t played for a title since NIL, closest they have gotten is the semi-finals1 point

The real question is RCSC to offer a 8 year $11.6 million contract to keep their celebrity Wheel of Fortune model from going to Carmel Clasy Schools to join the Greyhound Media Network? Will they let you escape to be the Ron Burgundy of the Greyhound Media Network?1 point

Again, now that I'm thinking about this more, I'm not so sure another Miami loss would have negative consequences for Notre Dame, and the Irish might even benefit from Miami stumbling. Miami already has a loss as a double-digit favorite. I expect they will be double-digit favorites in their remaining games. If they lose again and Notre Dame wins out impressively, it would not be shocking to see the Irish ahead of the Hurricanes. The committee will say something like ND lost by a total of four points in weeks 1 and 2 to teams that were playing well. They're looking strong on a ten game winning streak, while Miami, even though they looked great early in the season, got ambushed by double-digit dog Louisville at home and lost to another double-digit dog in the last five weeks of the season so they're trending in the wrong direction. This is not difficult to imagine, especially if you already imagine Miami losing another game. I think ND is more likely to be sunk by one of Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee, or Texas finding a way to climb back into this thing than they are by what happens with Miami. Anyway, lots of ball left to be played and losses late in the season have always been more damaging than losses suffered in the beginning.1 point

I said if Cathedral was healthy, I called out a possible 31-28 win for them. That started a bunch of people calling me out as if I said something crazy. Cathedral is a very good team, as is New Pal. I said it was possible for Cathedral to win. You’d have thought I was predicting a Frankfort win…1 point

Was too busy to look it up...is the stipend larger depending on the school? Just wondered how top talent remains at powerhouse schools n all coaches aren't paid the same..or are they?? Tax payer dollars spread out evenly or what? Is there a buyout offer when a coach needs to go?? School has x amount of kids so coach gets paid z amount? Harding had a HC that taught study hall..wasnt sure what the official stipulations were now a days n if by chance some schools don't get gr8 coaching due to limited options..no teachers want to coach..then what?1 point

Notre Dame passes the eye test, which seems to be pretty important to the committee. I don't see them getting left out for losing to Miami and A&M by a total of 4 points. There's not a person who follows college football who wouldn't want to see a rematch between Notre Dame and the #3 team in the country. That pretty much says it all. I also think one has to look at the Razorback's schedule and look at how they against ND versus their SEC counter parts. It's the eye test, that's it. Notre Dame just looks good.1 point

1,000% agree with everything you just said. To me, it looks like the IHSAA went the lazy route after last season. Decatur Central had to move up to 6A and Cathedral had to move down to 5A (thanks to the requirement for remaining up a class being changed from 3 points to 2). They just flip-flopped their sectionals even though Decatur Central aligns more with Avon, Brownsburg, and Ben Davis. Pike could’ve taken Cathedral’s place among Lawrence Central, Lawrence North, and North Central. But the whole reason it looks like they went with 33 in 5A is because they would’ve had to reconstruct multiple sectionals if not. So they added New Palestine to sectional 13 and shifted Whiteland south to sectional 14 to make it a five-team sectional. Otherwise, they would’ve had to drop Fort Wayne North to 4A which would require restructuring multiple 4A and 5A sectionals. Here’s one example of what it should’ve looked like (changes in bold): 5A Sectional 11: Goshen, Concord, Warsaw, South Bend Adams Sectional 12: Lafayette Jeff, McCutcheon, Kokomo, Anderson Sectional 13: Plainfield, Whiteland, Cathedral, New Palestine Sectional 14: Franklin, Columbus East, Seymour, East Central 4A Sectional 19: East Noble, DeKalb, Leo, New Haven, Fort Wayne Dwenger, Fort Wayne Wayne, Fort Wayne South, Fort Wayne North Sectional 20: Huntington North, Culver Academy, Logansport, Marion, Muncie Central, Frankfort, Lebanon, Columbia City The point here is that if the IHSAA is going to have a rolling two-year success factor period then they need to be willing to accept the extra work that will come with it. No lazy sectional restructuring. Put in the work. If not, there are plenty of people on this site that I’m sure would be willing to do it for them.1 point

Block in the back (Later in the play i didn't care to look for it) They missed the forward pass call almost as bad as Alexandria missed 115 tackles1 point

No clue on this play, haven’t watched it. Can we just agree to use the terms: Forward Pass Backward Pass Those are the only types of passes we have in HS Football.1 point

it was 100% a forward lateral, hard to see but ball in the air ball caught, still farther ahead of the other player but it didnt get called oh well you can't give up 123 yards and 2 touchdowns in 2 plays (4 seconds). but i did enjoy listening to the background screeching about the refs being wrong, at least I only yell when they are actually wrong1 point
