  1. Since everyone is scared of "the man" - I'll just make up my own scenario: Hotly contested bout between L-Burg and Cascade - at the PIT no less.... Cascade escapes, and approaches the post-game handshake line. HC's are leading the way as normal, when out of nowhere the Stink-Town-Clown appears on the field! He is clearly not happy with the result and it looking to take out his frustration on the Cascade HC, but in an act of valor, the DC jumps in and takes down the Clown!! The Clown's posse (ala UFC style) quickly joins in and we have a full blown melee on our hands!!

  9. Mannnn you talking about glory days! Took a date from college to a game and she was amazed at the crowd, admins let us sit on a blanket right outside the endzone..I got a picture of that packed stadium somewhere. It was epic.

  10. It feels like a ego thing with them. It has to be their idea even though there are better ones out there.

  11. Most high end college athletes are not in classrooms and do all their work remotely it seems. I wouldn't think much of that. But if IU falls short of goals, and money will be there, perhaps, but it all depends on depth of QB class coming out and from my eyes, its weak QB class

  12. That's what I heard too. Heard the Clown's posse was borderline insane! The stinky clown was drunk off of all those cold BL's he'd been slopping down in the Lawrenceburg parking lot before the game. The scene was just despicable!

  18. Only thing that gives me pause is "playoff Brownsburg." As I mentioned when the pairings were released, one state title cannot erase my memory of their past playoff failures. A win Friday night goes a long way. Not an excuse guy, but CG's injuries were well documented and you could tell they missed those guys. Credit to Warren for getting the win.

  21. I just look at WC's body of work through the season and feel like they'll crumble somewhere amongst the better competition. That's this Friday in my opinion. You're right though, give a talented team the right motivation, hard telling what could happen. I've got Brownsburg at 82%. But that 18% is pretty dangerous.

  22. From what I’ve seen, the deeper a team goes into the playoffs, the harder it actually becomes to draw larger crowds. Ticket prices go up, family passes are no longer accepted, and with band competitions finished, the band might attend but won’t perform a full halftime show, which means many band parents choose not to come. Then you have the weather to consider. Streaming adds another wrinkle: it costs $12 for a single game or $20 for access to all the semi-state games, and casual high school football fans may not realize it won’t be free to watch until Friday at 6:55 p.m. (and many won’t even know the actual 7:30 kickoff time), so they might try to find it on their radios. Overall, I’m not expecting the stands to be full. I hope I’m wrong, though, and that Carroll, Dwenger, and Luers all end up with packed crowds.

  23. Thats crazy work. I figure the student body would be behind them, as well as their parents, the band and their parents, then finally the players and those who support them. Back in the day one kid could bring in relatives and have a supporting cast of 15 family members at a playoff game, let alone a semi state game. the culture has shifted, i get it. My cyo days led me to believe that most of those guys love football and if Luers lost a few might go watch Dwenger or vice versa..heck our middle school coach would drive us to the games as well..Yes things have changed and always will...I digress..I'll go to the Luers game due to my situation yet my kids arent on the field (yet), my boys love battling the elements and it keeps me young while showing community support.

  26. The rhetoric in Fort Wayne was that Blackhawk would come in and take over the sport. Wonders how long that's going to take. I guess they are showing a third straight year of improvement..........1-9, 1-8, 2-8. Lesson learned. Basketball domination has nothing to do with football domination.

  28. Don't take this as an attack, just an honest question. Did someone get under your skin with Cascade? I only ask because I don't typically see a lot of Cascade fans that are over the top and I certainly could have missed something. This game is very intriguing to me. I want to start with I absolutely hate (no matter what team it is) for any Senior to suffer a season ending injury, even more so this late in the season. Foster has been a fun player to watch (in the few times I have seen him) and I am absolutely sure he has put tons of time and effort over the years it stinks to see any injury to a Senior. Cascade and Gibson Southern only have 1 common opponent in Danville who had an okay season. Both Cascade and Gibson Southern beat Danville by rather similar scores and played Danville early in the season (GS week 1 and Cascade week 2), I have no doubt both GS and Cascade have improved upon their play from week 1 and week 2. No doubt there will be a few adjustments for the Titans plugging in Foster's back-up but I am sure his back-up is well versed in the offensive scheme of Hart's Titans. Cascade has the benefit of playing at home. Gibson Southern has established themselves as a State Title contending team and Cascade is on the up in becoming that type of team over the last couple of years (not unlike when Coach Hart took over at GS). As evenly matched as these teams are they differ in style of offensive scheme. GS a balanced offense that throws the ball very well. Cascade more run heavy with 3 RB's but can throw the ball very effectively if needed. Both teams have rock solid defenses. This game may come down to Special Teams and of course turnovers. That 3rd phase comes in really important when you get to Semi-State and have 2 teams that have solid defenses. Having no dog in the fight being on the outside looking in I have no grasp on who the favorite is to win the game. Under all circumstances I will give a slight nod to Cascade having the home game, but would not be surprised at GS winning the game. This is new terriitory for Cascade but the players have handled things very well the last 2 season making stepping stones. Best of luck Saturday night should be a terrific game to watch for even just general fans.

  33. I meant it won't be standing room only. With live streaming a lot of people watch on TV. I am tempted to pay and watch from home do to the weather. For an example go look at the stands for the East Noble game, it was about half full.

  34. This rule is very stupid. Unless you win 3-4 in a row, it’s not necessary. Or even get to semi state and or state 4 in a row but with the additive you have to win at least 1 state title. The entire argument is to get more schools state titles so how can you move a team up if you don’t win even 1 title?

  35. To be fair, North Miami had a couple critical penalties taking away potential points on a couple drives. Point being it was a great game between 2 very solid teams. In football, mistakes are bound to happen both ways

  37. One thing that gets often overlooked at this point is just the uniqueness of Brownstown's offense (and the level at which they can run it). There is absolutely NO WAY to replicate it in practice, and generally takes AT LEAST a few series to get your barring's about you on defense...and by that time, it could be 14-0, maybe 21-0. Give me the Braves and Coach May finally gets his trip to the State Finals.

  42. I would never judge a parent on not showing up, I have dealt with enough kids to know that putting food on the table and providing a roof takes priority over showing up to sport contests. I had talked with some guys who pointed out his son was on the team yet werent entirely sure. I thought if he was on the team it would be awesome that he comes out to the games yet could undertand why he wouldnt.. I honestly had no idea. I should have worded it better. I still remember the days when the grammar police would get me when I mis-typed or misspoke. Mea culpa..
