lOTS OF RED I will take the team in the RED What's the O/U. that's where I may land if I decide to invest OL play by OSU vs DL of IU I am most intrigued with. If OSU has all day to throw like they did in Ann Arbor then those WR / TE/ RB will churn out yards, so much talent on their O and their D for that matter. IU will have hunger and coaching as well as confidence and scheme INDY will be a GREAT HOST per usual1 point

Thanks. I saw Roncalli had a returner back for a short kick but wasn’t sure. It is really a gutsy place on the field for any kind of fake. What a play.1 point

What a great game to watch! Congrats to Bishop Dwenger on the 4A state championship. I hope they celebrate all the way back to The Fort.1 point

I got to go to the game today. Both defenses were amazing! Brownstown’s #31 really stood out defensively. First time Brownstown had not scored a point in a game since 1997!! Super proud of how they represented the MSC!1 point

From 08-12 while I was down there…went to every damn one. Usually try to go to 2-3 a year these days but not always practical, especially this year considering my wife and I had a child in September. Was able to go to homecoming two weeks ago and then again last night.1 point

Torn? Funniest damn thing I’ve heard in my life. I didn’t sit in 20 degree weather last night just to make a decision next week. I root for the school I attended, not a novel concept. Loser.1 point

Watching on-line/TV, with the help of different angles and replay, the receiver certainly looked in bounds on the catch. The HL was really in a tough spot here. The QB was running towards his side, so he does have some responsibility there and can’t just fly down the sideline. Now, if there were 7 officials on the field (2 side judges downfield), there would have been another set of eyes much closer to the catch/no catch. And the BJ can’t give much help, if any on that play.1 point

Dwenger 10 - Roncalli 7, after giving up the opening kickoff return to the one yard line and Roncalli scoring a touchdown, Dwenger has controlled the game. Lots of game to go1 point

I'm not sure the reason, but I'll be sleeping in late in the morning. Thank goodness my parish has an early afternoon Mass!1 point

Congrats to Andrean on the 2A state championship! Congrats also to Brownstown Central on a tremendous season. Both teams delivered the most competitive game of the weekend. Big opportunity for 2A North over the next two seasons, as both AC & Andrean will now be in 3A.1 point

I was a HC for seven years, never once wanted a redo. I made the best decision with the info I had. Now if you want to argue it was a bad decision, fair enough. Obviously it goes without saying, some losses were easier to let go of than others.1 point

I don’t know if anyone follows the state to our west - but Illinois had to postpone today’s 5A - 8A games due to severe winter weather. They were supposed to be played outdoors at Illinois State in Normal. Another thing - because they try to squeeze in a 4th game, the 4A game kicked off at 7:50 and ended at 10:50PM. (1A started at 10 AM.) So even though I think IHSAA could improve the Lucas Oil postgame, they still run a better state finals weekend than Illinois.1 point

Yes I agree with what you are saying about a change in a different direction. I was just stating that technically he resigned and was not let go (which is better for his resume). I am pretty sure Avon and Brownsburg have been getting kids for several years that would have been at Ben Davis. Some of them have actually moved (with new apartments/houses going in left and right) in Avon and Brownsburg.1 point

LSU seems to be the popular choice, but with the governor getting involved, why would anyone want to be a part of that crap show? If he were staying at Ole Miss, I think they would have announced it already1 point

Don't view it so much as "underestimating Dwenger" so much as a belief in Roncalli. Always claiming bias and disrepect while doing it yourself.1 point

That was another error on the part of the IHSAA. It should have been the highest and lowest class with 32 teams. Why on earth they choose to just split the biggest class in two is beyond me. Not sure there was much thought process when that that decision was made.1 point

I don't mind the success factor. But I've been saying for years that it should be a 4-year cycle instead of two. Maybe 9 points to bump up. I'd like to see at least three successful seasons, maybe even four before a program gets the bump. There are SO many teams out there that are successful due to a two year run on talent. Then the less talented kids get bumped up to the higher class. Doesn't make sense. Been saying this since the inception. If the IHSAA would just sit down with me for an hour, I could fix some of their issues.1 point

A really interesting look at the evolution of the modern spread and how it relates back to a lot of these older concepts... Who Actually Invented the Spread Offense1 point
