  2. Excellent post and example (Martinsville with back to back Mr. Football award winners---Earl Haniford and Israel Thomspon). Thank you.

  3. Some programs can be great programs run by great coaches, but because of certain factors they do not have a great chance of winning a state title. There have been many instances of this. You look back at the great Martinsville teams of the 80's and a couple of their mid to late 90's teams. They were unbelievable teams and one of the top programs in the state, but with them being in the largest class there was no chance of them consistently beating Ben Davis, Warren, Carmel in the playoffs. They competed the best they could and got everything out of that program and players at the team. It was still a very successful program at the time even though they did not win state championships. Instances like that continue today with some other factors built in as well. I don't think its fair to base programs and say that they are successful or not just by the number of state titles they have won.

  4. Any success factor adjustment that puts Chatard in 3A and WeBo in 2A is a sham. As @jets pointed out, Southridge was 3A for 3 years after winning ONE title. To make WeBo 3A for one year after winning THREE 2A titles would be absurd.

  6. The Duneland Conference has all conference games from Weeks 3 through 9. DAC teams are only available for nonconference games in Weeks 1 and 2.

  8. Conveniently avoided my player example, not surprised. Doesn’t fit your narrative. Gimme evidence was fired BECAUSE he was black instead of just trotting out the same lazy, one-liner narratives. Until then, I’ll continue to trust owners to do what’s best for their franchises.

  9. and look at you ignoring the fact he fired a black coach with a depleted roster after one year. lol And yeah, I am skeptical......no chance Lovie gets hired if Flores does not file his suit. Timing is everything and optics matter.

  10. I guess I just don’t see how skin color seems to mean everything to some people. Some seem obsessed with it. Lovie coached in a Super Bowl and has a winning percentage of over .500 for his career. Pretty insulting for you to just assume he is a quota hire. I swear some of your pretend you are in these front offices. Throwing out some true Hail Marys here.

  11. The Texans owner knows he has a total shit show on the field. He desperately needed something positive. He is a moron when it comes to this team. He can now boast "look at me, I hired a black coach".......and wants us to stop thinking "Look at him, he fired a black coach with a shit roster after just one season". No chance Lovie is successful there with that owner involved. In just a few short years, they took a roster that was in the hunt for division titles, and unloaded not only great players, but great locker room guys in Watt and Hopkins. I am sure there are others.

  12. Understood. Again, not picking on you...just responding to the topic. But I don't see with the financial impact that would happen with FWCS, that they would welcome the added budgetary concerns to a school system that is located in what could be termed "a Red Area"...taxes would go up, based purely on sports beyond FB and Basketball. Yes teams DO travel long distances in other conferences. But NEVER in the SAC for conference games. The NE8 should welcome Angola into the fold, IMO. But when you think about travel from Angola to Huntington North, Bellmont, Norwell (I-69 makes it a bit better).... those are some hauls. Jay County is the outlier in the ACAC. But we can agree that the ACAC is a good fit for them. Though if you looked a 'size', they are an NE8 school....again travel comes into the equation. Garrett had that issue to an extent, then went back to the NECC.

  13. I was just adding thoughts if that happened don't really care one way or the other. I may see it 5-10 years from now but the logistics for the country club sports could be hard. Teams do travel 40 miles or so in other conference setups I believe?

  14. If Princeton were to be moved to the small school division under any explanation, the GS student section would never let them hear the end of it 😂 “RE-LE-GA-TED” -probably titan students

  15. I am fascinated by this long-held belief that Warsaw should join the SAC. This is not directed at psaboy, but this was the last reference to this situation. I cannot see why any program would join a Conference that would be separated by another county, and 40+ miles from the nearest conference foe. It would be a nightmare for the logistics of sports beyond Varsity Basketball and Football. Other than the "size" of Warsaw HS. I don't see the attraction for them to look eastward at the SAC as a member of the conference. Unless and until, there's an alliance that strictly is Football specific, there will not be any reason Warsaw, or any other school to look at changing their affiliation(s). I would love to see an 1-69 Conference (from the Indy Donut to FW) or a Northern Indiana Conference; Perhaps encompassing some Region schools, FW and all environs in between for FB only Friday nights.

  16. Izzy was Mr. Football for every valid reason. Dominant in the North-South game when the top players played. Still looks like he could run over tacklers.

  17. I don't know that I would require a package deal. I can't see an uneven Big/Small split being a problem one way or the other, unless I'm overlooking something. I think the WIC has an uneven setup, which I assume is working out (...?). That said, the OCD part of me shudders a bit. Assuming only one school does come on board, it would seem to be the time to consider the Big/Small realignment in some fashion. Not necessarily the fabled promotion/relegation concept (nothing against it, just looking at it from a different lens at the moment), but the odd number does provide an opportunity to redraw the line between Big/Small, even if a school was previously on a different side of the line. Currently the smallest Big (Princeton) might drop to the Small side without much fanfare. Likewise, the largest Small (Southridge) might push up to the Big side. And probably with no argument from either of them. Those are using some DoE enrollment numbers from another thread, so grain of salt. And frankly, those numbers only have Heritage Hills as being a dozen or so students larger than Pton, and Pike Central a mere three students smaller than SR. I wouldn't think the PAC would want to redo it every other year or so with the inevitable minor enrollment shifts.

  21. Michigan and Notre Dame are the two winningest programs in college football history. One is from Indiana and the other is just across the border and separated by only 177 miles. That's pretty cool if you ask me. Both programs place importance on the student athlete and take it seriously. Notre Dame has more national championships. Michigan leads the all-time series and taught Notre Dame the game of football..........true story. No point it sabotaging the historic rivalry these two great programs have. And I don't see either program being in a state of disarray. Freeman will figure things out. He has the staff and the players to make, his first campaign a successful one. Harbaugh is Harbaugh. As long as he is there Michigan will flirt with a 10 win season. He ranks somewhere in the Top 10 as far as coaches are concerned.

  24. Bob--You didn't know? Temptation has boots on the ground up in Ann Arbor and they told him everything is going to be alright. Optics of Harbaugh interviewing and preparing to leave on National Signing Day was all smoke and Michigan is now in a better place because of it. The Frank Broyles award winner leaving was just part of the process, nothing to worry about.

  25. If you’re really looking for a program in disarray, how about the one whose head coach was interviewing for another job (which he botched) on National Signing Day? Or how about the program whose offensive coordinator was the national asst. coach of the year … and leaves to take the same job at Miami, with a poison pen tweet to the players about Michigan in his wake? Oh wait, they’re the same program. That’s what I call disarray.

  30. You’re not out of the water yet lol if Coach Hart has shown one thing…it’s that he can develop QBs. Scheller-Sellers-Sellers-Allen….All 4 have been 3A All state QBs. The next QB might not have the arm of Allen but I’m sure he’s going to have every opportunity to join the previous 4 starting QBs for GS at the All State level

  31. Has Bienemy ever spoken out about not being hired?
    0 points
  32. Still waiting for the proof that Bienemy (or any other candidate not hired for that matter) was not hired due to racial factors. In the meantime, keep calling me names. It actually opens the curtain on who you really are and even disproves your point that you care about this nonsense. You just like to yell and get emotionally outraged without supporting facts.

  33. Lemme know when you sit in on an NFL coaching interview…otherwise you are just spouting nonsense based on your emotions. Those same minorities have become rich playing a game and also get second/third chances in life because they are talented…the general population doesn’t. Look at the rap sheets on guys like Tyreek Hill and Kareem Hunt. You or I would be shit canned instantaneously with their track record…we also don’t run a 4.3. Yes, OBTUSE. It’s a two way street whether you want to admit it or not.

  34. Third time in 36 hours… ”Don’t let facts get in the way of a good story.” Bienemy has baggage. Stop being so obtuse. A simple google search will let you know all you need to know. It’s not that hard. Guess Lovie wasn’t enough “rubber” huh?
