  1. It appears that Mr. Harrell has finalized most of his football schedules for next fall and and what can only be viewed as a hilarious twist of fate, all 8 current/former MIC members are still scheduled to play one another, lol. “If you are looking elsewhere, see ya. But we will still play you so that when you likely beat us you can still claim a conference title.” Carry on with your Thursday.

  2. Having a surplus of top flight talent at the position would be a nice problem to have.

  3. I do know that North Central is dropping Center Grove and adding Cathedral after their 2022 contract runs out. Both the 2023 and 2024 games will be at North Central and should be competitive as NC has some talent coming up the ranks. Ben Davis will be maintaining Carmel and Center Grove as both coaching staffs agree that it is mutually beneficial for football. Lawrence North is adding a Fort Wayne school beginning in 2023 to replace Carmel. That's all I know as of now.

  4. I suspect we’ll be seeing Fisher start. He’s just got a better arm than Caleb does. And they could easily utilize Caleb at another position. Caleb is quick and elusive, has decent hands.

  5. I wouldn’t say Ellspermann shouldn’t be the guy. But I will admit that I had my doubts. Ellspermann is one heck of an athlete, he is QB1 for a reason. But this offseason will be interesting, in my opinion, Ellpsermann will remain QB1. I also like to stir up some conversations over the offseason too.

  10. Unrelated topic but I read a fascinating story about the MIT/Harvard basketball rivalry on vacation recently and a small group of MIT students make the short trek when the two teams meet and have even been accused of yelling “safety school” to the Crimson faithful. Carry on.

  11. I really recommend finding a post career retirement hobby man. It’d do you (and all others on this board for that matter) some good.

  12. A sad state of affairs for sure but I’d go to thousands of sources for their opinions on this particular subject before Gregg Doyel.

  14. To me, too many kids want instant gratification (playing time) and do not want to work and be patient.

  15. Courtney Davis was the RB on the Snider team that beat Merrillville. Snider's single season record holder for All Purpose Yardage in a single season with 3101 yards. His career total also sits at #1 with 5820 All Purpose Yardage. He went on to play at Bowling Green State where he recorded over 2000 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns.

  18. Thanks Muda, I know I tried to get you for lunch or dinner when I taught at Frankfort. You weren't friendly enough to engage. I know in person we'd all get along. The words here are unfriendly.

  21. That sounds about normal to me. You can’t have a full week of two-a-days anymore, at least like there was 20 years ago. Many coaches/programs use the summer for teaching fundamentals. That way when practice starts the same week school starts, players don’t get overloaded with new stuff. And I would guess 2 hours for weights would include stretching, plyos, conditioning, and maybe even some speed work. But ‘Weights 2-4’ is much easier to type on a schedule.

  22. I agree. I have heard grumblings that "it's not real football." The same can be said about Sprint (less than 175lbs) football that SMWC, Calumet, Bellarmine, among others, are adding at the collegiate level. I'm all for more opportunity for kids to play in HS and in college, even if 8-man or sprint versions.

  26. All we have heard in the recent past is equity. This is true equity. Why should a student be locked to a failing school? I know one MAJOR reason. Teacher's Unions do not want school choice, which ironically, neither do Democrats (not to get into politics, but again, all we have heard about is equity being spewed by all sides of political aisles). Teacher's unions (at least here in Indiana) automatically deduct a portion of the union dues to go directly to political action that DIRECTLY "supports" public education. You must opt out if you do not want your union dues going to these political action groups.
