  1. I’ve long stated, if you’re a sports fan, I can drive within an hour of my house on any given Friday night and see a quality athletic event for 5-6-7 bucks whatever it costs to get in. You can not beat that entertainment value anywhere. And I’ll never get my panties in a wad investing in our youth. You want to talk about property taxes, let’s examine why every cop in the state is driving a new SUV, why local police forces need APC’s, and all the high tech gadgetry that they do to basically enforce traffic laws and bust high school drinking parties.

  2. Is this what your hatred is really about? Because you didn't get to play on it, you feel kids today shouldn't? I believe in wanting BETTER for kids today than what I had it. Turf solves a lot of problems for some schools. Take Sheridan. By adding turf, not only does our football program get a top-notch field to play on, but the soccer games can all be moved to the turf as well. For the past forever, they have been playing soccer on a very outdated soccer field that is off-campus, raising concerns for student and fan safety. The old soccer field will now be town property, where the plan is to build a new larger capacity salt barn, which obviously benefits the community. Also, the band will get to utilize the new turf. Moving their practices from the blacktop parking lot where they have been since before the 00s, to a safer (and cooler) turf field. Are some schools changing to turf just to spend extravagantly? Sure. However, to assume that EVERY school is doing that, is naive and ignorant.

  3. Not speaking for @BTF, but I think you are oversimplifying his comment. I believe BTF is implying that taxes at a local level impact you at a much more personal level than federal taxes. I think most can agree that taxes are a waste of money, but I would rather pay more money to local taxes than federal taxes. Big, bloated government taxes/spending at a federal level hurt everyone. Also, I think this thread was made to discuss which schools currently have turf and which schools do not have turf. @btownqbcoach1 saw the future, when he posted "I am sure some will take this thread as an opportunity to try and discredit/get butthurt about turf... but... meh." Boy, was he right....Maybe you should start your own thread "TURF SUCKS, SOD RULES"

  5. In an NFL locker room, their are LEADERS, not 1 sole entity, yes, the QB is the lead voice on the offensive side of the ball, no denying that, its just incredible that some of you want to cherry pick media narratives to drive home your narrative that a player who has won an Heisman while playing the position of QB is going to fail as a leader in the NFL because he sat pissed off on the bench, he showed emotion in the stands with his family and has chosen different fashion choices with finger paint and phone cases........ Except for Michigan sign stealing drama. lots of smoke, no fires. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/uscs-caleb-williams-hopes-viral-video-of-him-crying-helped-spread-awareness-for-mental-health/#:~:text=Following the 52-42 loss,a positive impact on others. USC's loss to Washington last weekend was an emotional one for Trojans quarterback Caleb Williams. Following the 52-42 loss to the Huskies, Williams found his mother in the stands and cried as she comforted him. That moment has garnered a lot of attention over the last week, and Williams hoped it had a positive impact on others. On Wednesday, Williams spoke to reporters and said he is an advocate for mental health and wanted to be his "authentic" self. "Me doing just what I did on Saturday, even though it was far from what I was trying to do or anything like that, it showed and spread that awareness that I may talk about when I don't have tears in my eyes," Williams said, per USCFootball.com. "It just shows truth and what I speak ... Being authentic is important." Williams also noted the loss really stung because of how badly he wanted to get a big win for his teammates. "That's who I am," Williams said. "That's just simply who I am ...That was raw emotion. Being human. Being myself. Someone that cares about this team, these guys and winning especially." https://www.nbcsportschicago.com/nfl/chicago-bears/bears-analysis/ex-nfl-star-gerald-mccoy-has-powerful-message-for-critics-of-caleb-williams-crying/540535/?amp=1 Gerald McCoy has earned to speak with his NFL career in my eyes: YEA, What a LOSER, BABY, POOR LEADER.....

  6. Ok I’ll stoke that fire…you Tiger fans better be careful what you are asking for in regards to this sectional. I know the Tigers have been uber successful the past 15 years or so- but a sectional such as this could put an end to such success real quick . Just saying… The realignment of the PAC had very minimal effect on our schedule- minus shuffling a few teams around to certain weeks. We play all the important players in the PAC (traditionally) anyway- so who cares what “division” we are in…we certainly don’t I can promise you that.

  8. You’d be sensitive also if your favorite professional football team hadn’t won a championship in nearly 4 decades.

  9. I asked you a question and you avoided it. How many of the NFL great QB's have you seen go run to their parents and cry when an outcome of a game didn't go their way? (their final year of college) Never called him a loser...those are your words. I do question if this type of behavior is someone to invest their entire future on. I appreciate he cares about his team after a tough loss...then why not head to the locker room and demonstrate your care for the team in lieu of running to your parents alone to cry? I think its a fair question...obviously you don't, and it feels like I struck a nerve. Maybe my comment hit too close to home. My son is an Army combat leader...thank goodness, those young men don't publicly run to mommy and cry openly when things don't work out to plan. You won't find that "style" being taught....well, at least with the elite units.

  10. It's being paid for by the ticket prices that are ten times that of a high school game. That's my point. It's ok to drop $500 to take your family to a Colts or Notre Dame game, but when a small portion of your taxes go toward a turf field right down the street, some get all bent out of shape.

  11. It means at some point in this 2 year cycle they will play in the tournament sponsored by IHSAA. Sometimes its in year 2, sometimes right away but IHSAA has to have them included as those schools have indicated they are playing 11 man football. Faith Christian for instance, 1 year of 8 man, year 2 jumping into 11 man this fall, honestly no idea if they are playing tournament this year, but I am sure they will be in 2025

  12. There's good and bad to the idea of big teams meeting in sectionals. LCC and Pioneer have had their fair share of being #1 and #2 in the rankings over the years only to end each others seasons before regionals started. With that said, there were some great crowds for those games and the schools got their shares of the gate.

  13. He's a troll. There is nothing else to this. In every one of these threads, he spouts his crap, has no substance to his argument, and does it condescendingly. Unfortunately, the mods have continued to allow him to post here. This is an Indiana HS football forum. He acts like it's a forum for him to voice his displeasure about aspects of society. Confused he is, it ruins the board. It never stops. There is just too much "troll" in there to be respectful and take this "discussion" (I guess that's what you would call it) somewhere else. This isn't a "local government" forum lol ... I've asked him multiple times to start his own threads/discussions on whatever topic he'd like, but he isn't respectful enough for that, so here we are..... every day, with Muda as the center of attention. It's honestly embarrassing lol ... place could be a lot more fun. Yeah just go research his others posts in this thread lolololol 🤪

  15. They have the wrong Heritage. Heritage Christian is 2A with 507 and Heritage is 3A with 616. If you look at the basketball numbers it shows Heritage Christian at 507 and Heritage at 616.

  16. I'm not an opponent of taxes as long as the system isn't being abused. Handing money over to illegal aliens as they cross the border would be an example of abuse. Sending money overseas to Ukraine without the rest of the UN providing their fair share is just plain disrespect for taxpayers money. I wouldn't call improving your local high school facilities a "mismanagement of funds." In short, maybe if you received more of a tax cut at the federal end, you'd be less concerned at the local end.

  17. Very rarely will I encourage someone to discontinue their fight, but this fight really isn't going anywhere. Best to move on. I'm all in for top notch high school facilities.

  21. If the admins at Valpo had a heart, they'd switch spots with them. I mean, I'd at least give Valpo 100:1 0dds to win the whole thing. Where does Jeffersonville sit, 1,000,000:1?

  22. It was fantastic actually playing schools with the same advantages and disadvantages on our run. I'm not sure the right word for adding P/Ps to the sectional is "competitive". 🙂 David vs Goliath is better more toward the end of the road.

  23. Both won state! Awesome for MSC. Makes me think. Has any PLAC school won state in any of big 3? I know we have a few runner ups.

  25. Exactly. There’s the problem. Schools vote their individual interests. No one is interested in what’s best for Indiana high school football.
