They've been proving people wrong all year Temp. I know you're a believer in transitive property, as am I..............both of us to a reasonble extent. Indiana passes with flying colors in that category.

Indiana waxed Nebraska, whereas Ohio State struggled agasint them.

Indiana beat Michigan at home, Ohio State failed to do so. Rivalry game, I get that. But I can assure you that Michigan didn't come into the IU game half asleep. They don't want to lose to their "lessor" neighbor to the south.

IU also beat UCLA, Michigan State, and Purdue by wider margins than Oregon did.

I'm not saying Indiana will get past the first round, it's 50/50 more than likely. But this is a team that better be taken seriously. If Rourke is on his game, all bets are off. I might just head to the sports book right now.

Yeah, good points.  But Michigan IS Indiana’s best win.  Not their fault and I give them a pass on their non-conference schedule because a team like IU should always schedule light in the non-con in my opinion.

Hopefully, IU learned some things from the OSU game.  (in addition to a punter catching a snap and punt team coverage)

Crowd noise impacted them, but I would say the inability to handle blitz packages from a strong and fast team was a killer.  (both on the field and the O coordinator)  My guess is that any team that plays them in the playoffs will watch the OSU game video and replicate.  If IU didn't learn from the OSU game, it will be a long day.

You mean like OSU's non-conference schedule this year?  Akron, Western Michigan, Marshall.

In 2023, they had Youngstown State and Western Ky on their schedule.  (Note, they did have Notre Dame as their other non-conf game)

Yep.  OOC games against P4 teams are pointless and the committee about to prove it once again.

Schedule complaints are impossible to validate in College because with only limited amount of NON CONF Weeks to fill, you have to try to project where the team will be talent / skill / competitive wise 3-6 years down the road.    So holding IU schedule against them on this type of year is just not fair, Coach Cig didn't create it, it was done multiple years ago, prior to even NIL becoming a thing.

I will also add, OSU Non Con was very poor, for their standards but like Coach Beamer said this week, forget about him scheduling better in NON CON if its going to be held against his team.

"If you're asking is there anything to gain by playing in some of these games that you play out of conference, I think it's something that everybody, not just us, needs to look at," the Gamecocks coach admitted. "Because clearly you can go through an entire season, not beat a ranked team, and be in the playoff if you just win."

At least the B10/18 doesn't schedule , checks notes, yup,  Chattanooga and Mercer in November.....cough SEC, COUGH

IU fans in the know:  Which potential playoff opponents do we see as the most favorable matchup for the Hoosiers later this month?  Are they gonna hang on to a top 8 spot and host?

Most favorable in order

1. Tennessee

2. Penn State

3. Notre Dame

4. Texas/Georgia

5. Ohio State

IU is slotted to play Georgia as it stands but I don't see how that's possible. Georgia is either going to beat Texas and move into the 2 seed and get a bye or they'll lose and drop a line or two. Penn State stands to drop the furthest this week especially if they lose big. A 10-2 Penn State should drop below Ohio State factoring in H2H. Assuming Oregon beats Penn State, I believe IU will be the 10 seed playing 7 seed Penn State if Georgia wins or will be the 9 seed playing Tennessee if Texas wins.

Some people aren't taking into consideration that the Hoosiers were losing to the same teams they were waxing this season, in the near past.  It was just last year that they lost to Purdue, for example.  This is a huge turnaround no matter who was on the schedule and Coach Cignetti must get credit for that.  He actually helped put fans in the stands!

Here is what I don't get though. The non conference games were scheduled years ago. The only B1G game set prior to the latest conference additions from out West was the Purdue game. Going in, whoever was responsible in the Conference offices for creating the latest schedule really did not seem to consider where some teams were competitively. Not that certain teams can be avoided. But 3 of the worst teams in the conference last season, IU, Northwestern, and Michigan State had to play both Ohio State and Michigan this season. I doubt anyone projected Michigan's season to play out the way it did, but it was frustrating to see when that came out.

I think they used ping pong balls. After all, it’s the only fair way. 😜

Indiana gets Notre Dame in the first round at Notre Dame on a Friday night in prime time. Should be a great atmosphere and an opportunity to make a big statement on the national stage. Honestly, if they can win the first game,  I fully expect them to beat Georgia.

Thought I'd make the trip for Notre Dame's first playoff game, but not at that price tag. Agree with @Komets2727. And night games are a pain in the @$$.

Resale tickets from season ticket holders/scalpers since ND hasn’t released public tickets yet. But it doesn’t sound good for the common fan trying to go to the game (High demand for the ND lottery tomorrow). I saw the CFP set a min/max value of $100/$250 on tickets according to the Twitter world.

Is this complaint due to something about the environs surrounding Notre Dame Stadium or is it just night games in general?

Been there lately?

No, I don't recall ever visiting the Notre Dame Campus, or Notre Dame Stadium. Hence my question to BTF.

The area around the campus has seen relatively recent growth of both commercial and residential. Nearby neighborhoods have been “gentrified.” It’s really quite nice.

Yeah, but how is the parking?  Especially on a game day.
