DumfriesYMCA
Bless who ever gave GS a 1st place vote. and the 9 who decided 1 loss to roncalli was enough to put WL over Chatard No way do 10 people think Chatard isn’t #1 in 3A after barely losing to Roncalli lol 1

Harrison is no slouch. I've got no problem with the rankings. I don't know much about Gibson Southern this year, but it looks like they've picked up right where they left off last year! They've been a great program during the Hart era, but winning that first championship has a way of creating even more success for a program. Would not be surprised at all to see them in Lucas Oil again.

Going to return A LOT next year…but this year they are still a young team and they need to just keep growing before we start predicting them to LOS lol The goals for this year I think are to win the conference and win the sectional. Once you get outside of sectionals in 3A, it seems like every team is either 12-0 or 11-1 and it’s very tough sledding. Gotta just win the day as for West Lafayette….I can’t recall a time in the last 10 years they were not ranked in the top 3 of 3A. Year in and year out just a phenomenal program. Definitely can give Chatard a run for its money in the north and I think many are looking forward to an opportunity for that matchup

Miner_Pride
Very proud to see my Miners at #1... but....while the offense is clicking and the run defense seems pretty solid... we have places that need improvement. we have no place kicker so all PATs are of the 2 point varient, and not particularly successful to date... and the pass defense gave up some pretty wide open receivers last week that resulted in a couple scores and prolly should have a couple more. That could be a real concern against a pass heavy intricate offense. I'm sure it will all be worked on as I am typing this. Sullivan will bring a spread offense to Linton next week... so I am anxious to see how we handle that. WIth that said... the offense is truly moving the ball at will. If we can get the passing game a little more on step we can really be dangerous. The front defense has been very physical and getting pressure on QB from OLB... and the physicalness of the Offensive Line has been impressive. We CANT have injuries though.... Not a knock on the the 3A teams by any means…just that I think 3A is slightly down this year compared to the last 5 years and 4A looks really tough

Would be highly competitive in 6A south as well. Think they top teams in 4A would be very competitive with the top teams in 3A (excluding New Pal). NLCTigerFan07
It's always interesting to me to see the similarities and differences between the two polls. For example in 6A, Lawrence Central got at least one vote worth 3 points in the Coaches Poll (which only includes 10 voters/coaches), while in the AP poll, they received zero votes from 16 voters. Just seems interesting that at least one coach thinks highly of the Bears. Also a shoutout to a few CIC teams that have been super impressive even though they have not yet cracked their classes' top ten ranking. Oak Hill (3A - 3-0) was straight up dominate in their victory over perennial 2A power Eastbrook, and Madison-Grant (2A - 3-0) has not had a winning season since 2011. Well on their way to accomplishing that with their start to the season, including last week's win over 4A Mississinewa.
