I would love for them to end up 1-2 in that class .. and meet in the first round of the sectional. We need outrageous and unfair outcomes like that to get rid of the ping pong balls.

GID Friends and Foes (Im sure there still lingering out there) 😁 I am letting you all know like I did the others on the leadership team a few weeks back, that come August, I will be beginning a new position within Rensselaer School Corp, going into El Ed PE which was my original degree 18 years ago, so will finally enjoy getting myself back into that, but leaving behind 13 years of running our Alternative School and Credit Recovery program which allowed me to be in front of computer 8 hours a day running our lab for all of that, so being a primary member of the leadership team made sense for me at that time, but not so much anymore as I just will not have the time that this site takes during the season to moderate, et. al that goes into the day to day, week to week, etc. s I want to thank @DK_Barons and @77Jimmie for allowing me onto their team back in 2010, its been a nice little run for myself around these parts and I will be still a member and retain my moderation tools, but will only be able to get on in a very limited basis moving forward and do not want to have folks wondering why I am not getting back to them in the typical ways that you have been accustomed to. Thanks to @Irishman all these years together running the day to day it seems, appreciate your support and accessibility brotha. Like I said, I will be on here and there throughout the rest of the summer and will help when I can until August but the slow phase out of my position within the leadership team. Thanks to the many members and supporters all these years, appreciate all of you. Hope many of you continue to provide your content and commentary within the confides of what Coach TA always wanted, a positive promotion of Indiana HS Football in your schools, communities throughout the entire state of Indiana. No one had an offseason program

I think the other perspective is that with everyone playing week 1 of the playoffs, fewer people would attend compared to it being a sectional championship or even a regional game. With no one eliminated in the first round, only fans of those schools will attend. A later match up would likely draw fans who follow teams that have been eliminated. The other issue is that these two meet in round one and the loser is turning in equipment while some 0 fer team wins and continues playing. I am not so sure it is the intention of the IHSAA......may be more like they want to avoid any hassle (or even extra work) or complaints in attempting to seed teams.

So, a coach at a school in the top Power 5 football conference in the country is going to make some type of commitment to a guy who is a year away from taking his first college snap, simply because he delivers a prized recruit … who also has never taken a college snap? I don’t think so.

You already know it’s going to be the first round game.

Yes, we had the 5A game, Warren Central vs. Penn. 50-0 at halftime … and it wasn’t that close.

Honestly, that game was a helluva lot closer than the final score. Chatard was wounded for the rest of the season following that bruising game and lost their lead running back (Nathan Cmehil….probably, with others, part of the reason for a coaching change at Ritter, btw) for the season. Just like Cathedral (who, along with Center Grove, is, again, a likely a Top 20 Team in the ENTIRE US), Roncalli will be even better this year….and they were a Top 10 team All Classes last year. No surprise Chatard and Roncalli being in the same Sectional….ie. Sectional 28 rinse and repeat.

I hear some of these shootouts teams are playing 6,7,8 or more games in a day. When is it too much? I love that these kids get these opportunities but I think many of them would benefit from a month or so without sports. Have time to pick up hay, watermelons, or mow yards,

One team missing on the crystal ball list is Columbus East..

Be “in?” Hell, I’d rank them 2nd. A better question: Could the Irish compete with a combination of the remaining teams in the 5A poll were they to form an all-star team?

I’m glad to see they hired someone within the program. That’s probably best for the players.

I agree with Tango, the Bears aren't going undefeated. There is a much better chance Castle goes 8-1, but I don't see that either. I think there is a much better chance Memorial, Mater Dei finish top 2 in the conference, but we will know a lot more by mid September. Can't wait.

I'm sure if a lung transplant were warranted due to a severe case of COVID (as the article states "The Option of Last Resort") this free market surgery center could do it cheaper than a for-profit or non-profit hospital, if it had the doctors and staff for such a complicated procedure. Tell me Dante, why do insurance companies and government regulations have to insert themselves between myself and a physician for a simple yearly check-up?
