I suppose there's always a chance Sheridan could beat South Putnam in the 1A regional. But that chance is near zero.3 points

You’re on this board daily from sun up to sun down yet want to mock folks for taking “a sport played by children too seriously”, lol. We’re all (well safe for a couple of folks) on here because we share a passion for the sport, right? Weird take.3 points

Let's take the word "privilege" out of our vocabulary and replace it with "hard work." Every parent has the opportunity to do what's best for their kids regardless of income. Where there's a will, there's a way.3 points

Or people who have a pulse and have watched the 6A tournament for the last 2+ decades and realize that the real state championship games usually take place before kickoff at LOS. Crown Point was Ben Davis’ 7th toughest game last year…let that sink in.2 points

This has been a painfully long week.... We kick off the season with our oldest and most competitive rival! Let's get this party started!!!! Oh and the Colts cheerleaders will be there.... HH vs Southridge Friday, August 23rd 6:30 pm CDT Kickoff **EARLY KICKOFF** @ Southridge High School - Raider Field History Of The Matchup Heritage Hills (0-0) @ Southridge (0-0) Southridge High School - Raider Field Friday, August 23, 2024 6:30 pm CDT Kickoff **EARLY KICKOFF** This is the 58th time Heritage Hills and Southridge have met on the gridiron and the Patriots lead the series 40-17. Southridge is one of only 3 teams that was on the Patriot football schedule in their inaugural season in 1972 that the Patriots have played at least once every season since. We have 48 guys on our roster (grades 10-12) and all of them have been preparing for our first game with great excitement. The freshman class is a talented group of 15 players who will open at Southridge on Thursday, August 22nd, at 6:00pm CDT. All of the young men in our program have worked extremely hard this summer to become stronger and faster. This year’s Patriot football team will be led by a group of 18 seniors, many of whom gained valuable varsity experience last year, as we fought our way to Lucas Oil Stadium. As the 2024 season begins, our goal is to be in the mix for a PAC and a Sectional Championship! Head to Huntingburg this Friday to cheer for the RED, WHITE, & BLUE! Then why do you choose a high school football message board to trot out your ideology about non football related nonsense on a daily basis? Certainly you can get your fix elsewhere, right? What ARE you passionate about?2 points

We carry a policy to cover families that do not have family/individual coverage. There is a football policy that we purchase. Cheerleaders are 1 cost, flag football is 1 cost, 8-10 yr olds are 1 price, and 10-12 yr olds are 1 price. We have a 6 month policy that costs ~$2000.2 points

Uh, Chatham and Brookside are in the Westfield City Limits, so naturally those kids would go to Westfield, unless the parents send them to Guerin. You are talking to a Cathedral grad, but back in the last days of the 14th and Meridan school. No recruiting going on then, just a bunch of Catholic kids who wanted to go to what then was a college prep school. As to growing up, I grew up in the area just north of the State Fairgrounds. Low middle class at best. More like ghetto today. Don't worry about us up here. We are doing just fine with multiple state finals appearances in the past 10 years.2 points

A case can be made for any of them up to and including Deguello. I'm extremely thankful I got to see them Live before MTV got their hold on them. World Wide Texas Tour/Market Square Arena/stage shaped like the state of Texas/Live Longhorn, rattlesnakes, armadillo onstage/Nudie suits/Fantastic. 2/17/77. Elvin Bishop opened. It does but Indy teams have earned any potential “bias” of why they receive the benefit from. In 6A, a non-Indy school beating an Indy area school is front page news…an Indy area school beating a non-Indy area school is just another Friday night. Like you’ve said, they are meaningless rankings that are fun to talk about but don’t really matter in the big picture.1 point
-
List credibility with me when he has it 6-0 for the South. Won’t happen1 point
-
I could come up with several games off the top of my head where Team A (north) was better than Team B (south) on "that" night. It goes both directions. I'm not accusing anyone of being biased. Never accused the IFCA of being biased. My only crime was saying it had "an Indy flavor." I'm actually good with the entire Top Ten being Indianapolis, although I think Crown Point and Snider have deemed themselves worthy. You also know that I've publicly given you credit for being the least biased poster on this forum. I honestly don't care what polls say, they are just for fun.1 point

I hear the Mecca Tavern has one of the best breaded tenderloins in the state. Can this be confirmed by any of the WRC fans here? Oh yeah. Go football!1 point

Aside from the head coach on the sideline, what did Sheridan bring back to be ranked 4th? It is the Preseason Coaches' Poll, so it ultimately is not that deep, but I am curious to hear others thoughts. They lost their top three rushers, top two receivers, and five of their top six tacklers from last year. Whereas the #8 team, who Sheridan barely snuck past to win the sectional, Monroe Central returns their top three rushers, a 1300 yard passer, and return four of their top six tacklers. Nothing against Sheridan personally, I just find the Coaches' Poll annoying when it values off the field relationships over on the field play.1 point

Not so fast Donnie. Sources at the local tanning salon say big things have been happening at SV. Sources have stated that sv has hired an EX north vermillion line coach in hopes of getting inside information on how Crabtree operated a winning program for so many years. They also stated that the line coach has been spray tanned and fitted for a new visor. Not sure who did the spraying on that one.1 point

I am newer here, so for that forgive me. I didn't even know there was a book. Lol. I just was speaking in terms of the kids I new were the true starters for the ol and dl. There are a lot of kids that do indeed get roated. We'll 3 or 4.1 point

Don't know about other leagues, but when I coached, our league had insurance coverage as a league which was part of the fees for belonging to the league. This also extended coverage to the teams for game day and league associated activities. Within our program, coaches had to be football coaching certified, in addition to the state requirements for concussion and heat certification/training. That coaching certification carried personal liability coverage too. Facilities where games were held also had to carry liability insurance.1 point

Now, now Donnie. Making posts here without words like "football", "offense", "defense", "spread", "tackle", etc. in them will get you labeled as a troll or bum. State law.1 point

The amount of time you think I spend on the GID is vastly overestimated. I would guess 99% of my posts are made within about an 8 hour window, and usually only during the week. Hardly 24/7. Sorry that that hit a nerve with you. And I've never taken YOU very seriously as well. I'm sorry you feel that way, temptation.1 point

Speaking from just a youth football position... EVERYTHING has gone up. Helmets have went up $25-$30 each in just the last 18 months, shoulder pads have gone up too. Reconditioning the helmets you are looking at ~$70 per helmet. T-shirts/Jerseys have gone up. The youth organizations have to be able to cover costs of the equipment. Not to mention officials, footballs, other equipment, etc. It's not as cheap as it was 5 years ago to register, but that's due to the cost of literally everything going up.1 point

It sounds like Floyd will be the team to beat in the HHC. However, Floyd has been known to blow it when they looked to be on top before, right? Columbus East secondary is good. Lawson is tall, lanky and fast. Can win 50/50 balls. Herron is tall and athletic as well. I foresee their lines being a big problem. Will have to see if they can figure it out. Coach Vogel alludes that the team is still trying to find their identity. Seymour has arguably, or not, the best WR in the conference. Maybe one of the best in the state in Johnson. But he doesn't have the other WR help that he had last year. I know they graduated a bunch of linemen. Their QB spot seemed up in the air and big shoes to fill with Perry missing. I think the top three are Floyd, East, and Seymour. East and Seymour could be interchangeable. If Floyd manages to get upset, it could make the race for the top interesting. I like that Floyd has a tough schedule. East's schedule isn't a walk in the park either. As always, teams staying healthy matters.1 point

Is Muda shedding his "all public schools are inferior" scorn? Is Muda alluding that the woke BS of "organized youth sports being a privilege" is un-American? Man, even a Frankfort socialist is turning the corner. Maybe Kamala is in trouble. It's doubtful with the emotional stooges out there with the nonsense above as the battle cry, but this post is a nice development. Welcome to capitalism, Muda. Maybe the American dream is alive albeit on life support. Hegemony was always a pipe dream.1 point

Hilarious. Coming from a Westfield guy. Every time I drive through Chatham Hills and Brookside, it's littered with Westfield Rocks football signs. Check yourself. You live in the least diverse, most opulent school district in the state (which includes Carmel). I grew up in the Marion County hood and know everything there is to know about almost every IPS district. There is no IPS. Marion County is the new IPS. You d-bags in the HHC are the new Marion County. When you get some sprawl from North Central, Pike, and LN, maybe Westfield can be competitive like Brownsburg and Carmel. I'd give it 3 years. Careful who you're criticizing. You'll be taking all the IPS scraps shortly and it might actually get you guys to the promised land.1 point
