I like this....it kind of gets at the REAL issue in a roundabout way. Agree....we should add the number of disabled kids to the calculation.

The adjustment based on FRL could be a start. The only other thing that I'd want to look at, in addition, would be students with disabilities too that might impede them from participating in athletic activities. It might be moot as several with disabilities also tend to be part of FRL grouping, but I think that a kid who's disabled should not count against a school's athletic denominator unless there is probability of them being in the numerator too.

@temptation has Crown Point at #4 which is recognition. Where specifically has Crown Point "not" been given recognition. Honestly saying we have to wait and see how they do against a Westfield, HSE, Fishers is not a bad thing. It means there is no real barometer of where they stand fully without seeing them play a calibur of team like Westfield. Final week of the regular season. The CIC Championship is on the line this week. Sectionals start next week. So let's hear the predictions for this week and who you think will win a Sectional title for the CIC. Blackford at Alexandria--Blackford has their best record since 2020 with 2 regular season wins but they won't make it 3 wins this week as Alexandria rolls to a win. Eastbrook at Oak Hill--Eastbrook took a thumping this last week against Mississinewa. Oak Hill was thumped by Ole Miss to open CIC play. Oak Hill has been up and down this year. Eastbrook started the season off with 2 losses, which may be a first under Adamson. Now Eastbrook has lost 2 in a row which is a rarity under Adamson. This game is going to be a close one but Eastbrook rights the ship and rings cowbells as they win this one to end the losing streak. Mississinewa at Madison-Grant--This is the game that everyone has had marked on the calendar for a year. Can Mississinewa make it 18 straight regular season wins? Can Madison-Grant go undefeated in the regular season for the first time in a number of years? This one could be a high scoring game. Last week Mississinewa's defense held the high powered Eastbrook offense to less than 30 yards of total offense in the first half and jumped out to a 44-0 lead at the half. Madison-Grant won a close one 2 weeks ago at home for their homecoming game against Eastbrook. The Mississinewa starters have yet to play an entire game this season. Mississinewa has the #1 defense in the nation. MG has one of the most explosive offenses in the state. This should make this game a good one. In the end, Mississinewa just has too much size, quickness, and finesse for MG as Mississinewa cruises to another W with a running clock in the 4th quarter. I predict Mississinewa and Madison-Grant to both win their respective Sectionals. Mississinewa and Madison-Grant both have the potential to make very deep runs in the state tournament with some media sources predicting both teams to be playing well into November. Good luck to all CIC teams this week as they close out the regular season and begin preparations for the State Tournament.

I was at a college tailgate this weekend and another football parent mentioned this about Iowa. I think someone on here was advocating for something like this in Indiana.

Heard Memorial at Mater Dei will be Saturday at 11am, so is it brunch or breakfast tailgate?

North Knox does a good job. Their coaches are some of the best in the state. 28 seems like a lot of points to me.

We’ll do the best we can. Our schedule really won’t change all that much. Outside of Washington, and possibly Mt Vernon- no other conference schools come remotely close to having the socioeconomic and demographic challenges in regards to student population and participation compared to SR. (Would be REAL interested in the proposed Iowa model and the shake up that would bring- but that will never see the light of day) Not an excuse- but the reality of the situation. Ignored these stats for a while because I follow the larger classes more closely but anyone ever seen anything like this? Averaging 48 per game yet giving up 43? 83 points in one game, total of 148? Three games with an over of 120 points? Has to be approaching some sort of unofficial state record, no? Nuts!

Well, the information we know is that Central and Rex Mundi both used Bosse Field as their home field. Central moved from downtown to First Avenue in 1971 (presumably before the school year). I assume Central's football stadium was built as part of the new construction. If that is the case, then Central would not have played at Bosse Field as the home team in 1971. Rex Mundi closed in 1972, so the 1971 season would have been its last using Bosse Field as its home field. Memorial's last game with Rex Mundi was Nov. 12, 1971, which was the last week of the HS football season. If it was Rex Mundi's home game, then it would seem that was the last game at Bosse Field. If it was at Enlow, then whoever rex Mundi hosted a week prior would be the last game. I need to go to the library and get on the microfilm for old newspapers....

Mt. Vernon moves down to small side and Southridge moves to big side.....that was the talk earlier in the season. My understanding is that it is all but a done deal.

2011, Memorial host Belleville West from Illinois, the Tigers held off Belleville’s 2 point conversion at the end. I believe Memorial ended up winning 21-20 in that game.

I heard them say, 5 schools that have played in state finals since 2017. And, all 5 schools have head coaches with at least 100 career wins.

My point is the Team from the North improved and other teams including a North bracket team improved namely Westfield which was an OT game in Crown Point where does that leave you? Look you can call out names all you want "Indy Cronies"" blah blah blah. Like @temptation has said multiple times, several of us would love to see a Crown Point get a State Championship. The astronomical statistic for 6A states it won't happen 2 out of 22 teams in 6A finals history have been non-Indy area teams and both were beat by 28 or more points. You don't have to like it and can resort to belittling, but the facts are facts. Because I typed the truth. Coach Buzea taking Crown Point from losing season to 5-5, then 10-1, then 13-1 and State runner-up is commendable nobody is has stated otherwise. Nobody has stated Crown Point is not a good team because they are. I stated it in another post Crown Point brings nothing new that teams like Westfield, Center Grove, Lawrence North, Brownsburg, HSE, Fishers, Ben Davis, or Cathedral don't see every week. However Crown Point does NOT see that every week. I can talk about improvements other teams have made if you want. I have Lawrence North as one of top 2 contenders from the South (the Lawrence North vs Cathedral Sectional Championship game will be a doozy). The other team I have is Brownsburg and my only contention in having them as sole favorite to win is their blunders in the post season the last 2 years (they are really good). Cathedral, Warren Central, and Center Grove could snake-bite LN or Brownsburg. As bad as Ben Davis started this season (rebuild entirely on defense and a new OC they are trying to get on the same page with) they played well against Lawrence Central and they still have a terrific RB and playmaker in Zachary. Westfield from the North will be a tough out played Brownsburg about the best you could play them in that 17-13 loss at Brownsburg. I was at that game and had the Shamrocks not lost their QB to injury they might have pulled off the win. There are some wildcards in the North with HSE who can be very good. Fishers who nobody can figure out what they are. Noblesville who I wouldn't put at the top of any list, but what they do have is a offensive scheme they run very well that limits the other teams possessions and keeps scores much closer than you would expect. That being said I feel the Top 2 are Westfield and Crown Point on a collision course. I think you will see much like last year back and forth and CP's secondary will be put to one of their tougher tests. You have made comments about New Palestine in other posts about their SOS and Crown Point is no different in that category. Both have great coaches: Coach Buzea 36-7 at CP 252-96 in career, Coach Ralph 134-14 at NP and in career. What has changed on your stance when it comes to schedule here? The Columbus North vs Bloomington North game went into double OT. I've not been to a HS game like that before. Definitely had the crowd on a roller coaster of emotion. Hats off to both teams for putting on a show and giving it everything they had. Below are some highlights. Columbus North scored on several 4th down attempts. Had my heart in overdrive! lol

Both plays clearly look to have been snapped at the 4. Not sure where you are seeing the ball was snapped at the 5.

I might not forget this game. I have never seen a game like it. LCC was taking knees, so I think muda would have been happy.

Unfortunately, this happens far too frequently. Under NF rules, on a kick try (extra point) the ball is dead as soon as it is apparent that the kick has failed. Not so on a field goal attempt. But a field goal from that distance looks like a kick try, and muscle memory kicks in so you blow the whistle when the kick fails. That’s why the proper mechanic is for the crew members to all communicate with one another before the play that “it’s a field goal, the ball remains alive.” Not an excuse. Just an explanation.

Southwood has been in every game that they have played this year for the most part. They have a lot of talent on the offensive side of the ball, they've been plagued by the injury bug all year. They are well coached. Rochester has to be ready to play for 4 quarters. Everyone is excited about the Maconaquah/Rochester conference championship possibility next week but both teams have to take care of business tonight in order for that to happen.

That won't bode well for them from what I have seen at the lower levels...lets just say the next 5 years or so. Then again, conference championships don't mean much....just hate to see them never win another one in the foreseeable future.
