I would rather see folks who send their kids to a P/P get some sort of reduction in property tax. Voucher is just a French word the big wigs in Indy use to reduce their bill at (insert private school name here). Careful what you wish for....what "Charter School" will launch a business plan to accept kids from the only place where public schools are an issue (inner cities). School choice is smoke and mirrors. Here is what they will do: Once the inner city public kids have their school shut down but have these nice shiny vouchers in their hands...the Privates within driving distance will jack up the price enough that those vouchers won't cut it. Then golfing buddy of Senator "X" steps in with an inner city Charter School plan (A business) that will gladly accept those dollars and provide an even more crapy experience than they received at the public school. And it's funny how it's never mentioned that around the state of Indiana the rural publics are in the top 25% in the state....if what they are looking for is achievement why would they punish those who get it. The amount of funding publics are eligible for with regard to bonds for projects was cut yet again recently...rural schools use these bonds all the time to make their schools more "competitive and attractive". I am a Republican town councilman and I can tell you right now the Republicans in Indianapolis are going to ruin education in our state. Seems like a one size fits all narrative.3 points

Yup, kid's game. And for some kid's playing the game there are scholarships ($$$) involved. College is expensive and the cost isn't getting any cheaper (unless someone has data to prove me wrong) so if a family wants to make a choice that results in dollars for THEIR CHILD's education and THEIR FAMILY's pocket then WHO THE HELL are we (CoachMack219, Tango, Jets, Sparty, or the IHSAA) to tell them, "NOPE, YOU CAN'T DO THAT?!" There is A LOT more to transferring schools than simply loyalty, hard work, dedication, and running away from coaching. That's my point.3 points

I am sure it will go similar to how it went after the tragic Corey Stringer dealth in Minnesota An institute did a study on Heat related football injuries, ranked states, Indiana got an F, Suits in statehouse, UH OH, suits and IHSAA talk, Suits say, you better do something or we do.......IHSAA creates the new model for Heat Illness and practice (WHICH I FULLY SUPPORT BY THE WAY) So, if Suits are talking in session right now, my guess, again just from my previous years of watching how things unfold, the Suits will tell the IHSAA, you create something or we will........ Time will tell3 points

Welcome back. We're right in the middle of a fund drive, please consider donating! We're $993.67 short of our goal, even a little bit will help. @Coach Nowlin will appreciate the help.3 points

These type of things have to be nominated for perhaps there were great public schools who could of been in contention, but for whatever reason did not get nominated by those responsibilty for nominations. Typically there is a criteria for these things, perhaps there were great public schools that did not fit the criteria to be nominated. The NFF is not searching and researching 300+ football playing schools to get their winners. For those who do not click links to read articles: Good Luck to our 6 teams representing the Nation for Indiana, perhaps we snag the Hatchell Cup I believe Catherdral won a huge national award last year as well. Kudos to them2 points

1. Not EVERY SINGLE TRANSFER has to do with a kid not wanting to deal with adversity/ becoming "tougher" (mentally or physically or because they were "challenged by a coach". You'll see a common theme here, IF THEY'RE LEAVING IT AIN'T YOUR BUSINESS WHY. Sign off and move on. 2. How have we gone to far the other way? By allowing young adults (more often than not their parents who are *checks notes* adults) to make the same choice that the adults who coach them can make whenever they want? A better choice for themselves/ families and we all say, "NOPE not around these parts!" Again, IF THEY'RE LEAVING IT AIN'T YOUR BUSINESS WHY. Sign off and move on. 3. I'll hammer the USA to win WW3 at -1000 odds if we ever unfortunately see that day.2 points

Oh man something about great minds Irish always thought the same thing . People forget year 1 of Sampson 21 wins and took UCLA to the wire in the round of 32 who needed up in the final four then signs Eric Gordon and proceeded to position IU at 22-4 when they fired him . He is a hell of a basketball coach! I believe I read somewhere Buckners term is up in June . And they do have terM limits so he is done after . Came to post some conspiracy theories. I believe Dolson is making a final push . Dane Fife did 2 interviews the last 2 days. I first saw he was on Dakich show and thought nothing of it since it’s Purdue week . Fife has always been pretty tight lipped after everything unfolded the way it did and doesn’t bash too much. I just think that’s who he is a person . Then I saw Rabjohns on 107.5 in the AM listened pretty much what I thought sounded like a media guy whose bitter Woodson took away his access to the program . but Then I saw Fife was on JMV today! I thought ok I’ll give it a listen and WOW like a chapter or 2 from a tell all book really interesting insights . So I decided to go back and listen to the Dakich interview too and it also was pretty revealing BUT a little more tame . im wondering if Dolson or something close to Dolson heard Fife first interview with Dakich and then told him hey don’t feeL like you have to hold back and he did say he still talks to Dolson directly ……… on JMV and he didn’t go scorched earth by any means but was more than worth the listen so is the Dakich interview but man the JMV one was awesome. I’ve maintained for a while now that I believed Woodson would make it till the end of the season but I’m not so sure if they get blown out tomorrow night I wouldn’t be surprised to see Dolson make the move. Just one humble football coaches opinion.1 point

When parents are using household funds to send their young ones to private and parochial schools, they expect excellence in the classroom. At least my mother felt that way.1 point

This is some of these peoples' preference. Just STAY LOYAL AND WORK HARD NO MATTER THE CIRCUMSTANCES. School closing? Don't matter, can't transfer. STAY LOYAL AND WORK HARD! Adults at the school commit IHSAA violations resulting in a Postseason ban for a school? Don't matter, can't transfer. STAY LOYAL AND WORK HARD! I can come up with examples all day. The thought process on this topic by some people is astonishing to me.1 point

Oh yeah. CAN'T forget about LOYALTY! Nothing like coming in as a Freshman ready to play for one of the best coaches in the state and then heading into your Junior year, that coach leaves for a better job opportunity (sick loyalty there coach). The school/ program is now headed in the wrong direction and you're a potential college recruit. The new coach is notorious for doing a porous job at helping kids with the recruiting process (A LOT more coaches than we may want to admit are HORRENDOUS at this). So due to "loyalty," that kid and his parents should HAVE TO stick with a bad situation? Seems a little ridiculous to me.1 point

Hard for me to believe that this discussion is even taking place. I tried a malpractice case once, defending a hospital against a claim that a patient fall resulting in a significant head injury went undocumented and was “covered up” by hospital personnel. At trial, I demonstrated to the jury just how many people would have to be involved in such a “cover up” without leaking the information to outsiders. It was almost 100 people. Think how much larger a conspiracy would be involved in making sure each of the officiating crews working a Chief’s game got the word that they were required to favor the Chiefs. Anyone who thinks that sort of conspiracy could exist — and be successfully covered up — is so lacking in critical thinking ability that I find it hard to believe they were not dropped on their heads at birth … repeatedly.1 point

He was probably the best case scenario. Was Associate Head Coach last year, and already has a relationship with the kids.1 point

its crazy that people think the refs cheat for the chiefs, I mean it only happened 2-3 times every single game of the playoffs. ridiculous.1 point

Why would I want a kid who doesn’t want to be around? Don’t let the door hit ya where the Good Lord split ya.” Nice try1 point
-
Wouldn't that decision be better left to the parents? BTW...its not a hypothetical, I know that family and thats exactly what they went through. "Johnny" also has 2 younger siblings that figured into that calculus. So it wasn't just about him, it was mainly about both parents being able to be around for all 3 kids, and not have one of them in the car or at work most of their waking hours. Some families are ok with one parent having a long commute and not being available for transporting to kids to activities or attending events. Good for them if that works! This familty wanted something different. And Good for them too! You don't want your kid to have to be at three schools in 4 years. Good for you! But the IHSAA or DOE having the ability to limit a kid to having to sit "regardless of the situation" is not something I'm on board with. And keep in mind, I'm talking about an entire family making an actual adress change each time.1 point
