  1. If I was a betting man, I'd say there was a discussion about Washington, what to do, what to not do, and that we have moved to prepping for next Friday against GS. Honestly, these boys need some adversity in their lives.....

  2. Not a lot of great matchups this season in the area. I think Memorial Mater Dei was a great one last week and you are right about this one. The P&Ps are always going to field pretty good teams though....if they don't they are doing it wrong. I often wonder if I would have been a "coaching legend" had I coached at a P&P! LOL

  3. Top notch feeder system all the way up to high school. Elite weight lifting program. And the community has fully bought in 100%. Don't know if New Pal will ever get as big as Center Grove, but it's the exact blueprint that Coach Moore used 25-30 years ago.

  4. Attica @ FC - Here's a little fun fact about our Hall of Famer -- He hasn't won a game at FC vs a team that finished with a winning record. Stats don't lie and that's hard to defend. (Enter The Prince.....) FC's OL/DL is too good up front for the Rambler's, but these teams did meet in the summer. I'll take the Mustang's by 20. 32-12 RP @ NV - I don't know if the Panthers are the #1 team in the state, but they cemented their place as the best team in the conference, and by a long shot. I didn't expect a mercy rule vs Seeger at halftime, even with multiple starters out of the game or hurt. RP rests up this week and plays many backups by halftime. 46-0 G Seeger @ PH - Even Marshall Mathers can see the Wolves are improved. Is it the poor WRC schedule strength or are they moving the needle in Rocktucky? This would be a nice, quality win for the Wolves, but not so fast, my friend. Seeger's kids are too much overall for the Wolves. 28-18 Seeger SV @ Covington - Coach Miller secured a nice rivalry win last week vs NV to get the Wildcats to 2-2 and Covington finally played a quality team that slowed down their offense. I like the Wildcats in this one in a close game. 20-16

  5. Think you'd be more inclined to see Warren kids heading to New Pal as opposed to Mt Vernon. Lawrence Twp has been hemorrhaging kids to Mt Vernon for quite some time now. Probably the best athlete to ever go through Mt Vernon (Luke Ertel top 50 basketball recruit) is a Lawrence Twp kid.

  6. Agree....Temp, always a good read.

  7. 1. C'mon Temp, ignore the records and get Crown Point out of the 5 spot. Somewhere around 10-15 is more accruate based on their complete lack of skill talent. 2. Bring back the weekly HCC and MIC predictions. Thanks!

  8. Not quite the best numbers in program history, but it’s awesome to see him doing well. Proud of him as a former player of mine, great to see the program having some success. Nick and his wife are both Crawford grads, just had a baby. He won’t be going anywhere as long as the program continues.

  10. Don't underestimate Carroll. They gave CG and HSE all they could handle. Probably would have beaten HSE had they been at full strength. Which also tells me that your Saints are really good. The "Fort Wayne is awful" opinion has no merit.

  11. there is absolutely 100% nothing anyone will say to me that will convince me that Northwest Indiana has a harder trip to semi state than literally any other area. we could put a team together of GID members and make it to semistate in any class if we got to start out of the northwest

  12. crown point will have to gear up for an absolute war vs portage on their walk to the semi state while the mic and hcc teams roll into each other again

  13. Anyone doubting whether a 10-2 ND team (totally possible with the remaining schedule) would get into the playoff is kidding themselves.

  14. There is no such thing as a cakewalk to semi state due to health. In all classes but especially lower classes, staying healthy is paramount because you don’t have the depth. Andrean has been playing without one of their top players all season except for first half of game 1 vs Merrillvile and it shows. Offense has been a challenge without him.

  15. Because the whole of northwest indiana is a free trip to semis at anything higher than 2a

  16. C'mon Coach, how many NFL GM's draft a Punter in the 4th round when they have many more pressing needs on the DL and OL? I'm all for waiting and seeing how this turns out and I'm still positive, but criticizing Poles is certainly fair game. He's had a lot of misses in the draft and in free agency. Unfortunately, key defensive injuries are starting to pileup and Johnson is possibly now out for the year. It's going to be hard for Allen to run his scheme when going man in the secondary will be tough to do.

  17. What more do you want from the Panthers? They've beat the brakes off of everyone they have played. They can't change who they play good or bad the Panthers are the real deal and I see them making a late playoff push this year.

  19. By-laws state consecutive tournaments in same class. Points reset once you move up or down a class.
    1 point
  20. You need 6 points to move up a class under the under the new proposal. A state championship for New Pal only gets them to 4 points. They appear to be in 5A the next two years regardless of what happens this season. https://www.ihsaa.org/sites/default/files/documents/Tournament Success Factor.pdf

  21. And with my comments above, it goes without saying that Kyle Ralph is responsible for all that. All the credit in the world to him.

  22. Attica @ Fountain Central- Although FC is banged up, the pulled one out last week against Covington. FC is the second best team in the conference. I still am going to tip my hat to Coach Dean at Attica for doing what he does. I believe Attica may win a few more WRC games this year. FC is just to big and to physical up front. FC 49 Attica 6 RP @ NV- Last season the Panthers and the Falcons battled it out in two hard fought games. I don't think this will be the case this year. NV is on the struggle bus. RP will win out and win the WRC without a question. With the bad blood between RP and NV I believe the Panthers will rush and score how ever much they want in this game. Panthers 50+ Seeger @ Woofs- I don't think the hype train for the woofs is all that.. They haven't played anyone in the conference yet and seem to struggle a bit with the Ramblers last week. I think Seeger has more athletes than the Woofs do and will take care of business. The Woofs won't go down without a fight though... Seeger 34 Woofs 12 SV @ Covington- Can we still call SV the visors? Although Coach B left the visor tradition still holds true.. SV struggled at times last week against NV. Covington is also banged up. I am not sure whether this game will go into OT because it is 0-0 or 42-42... Visors 14 Rubbers 6

  23. As @Footballking16 stated, there are several factors. However, in my opinion, the biggest factor is Kyle Ralph. There was always potential at New Pal but he came in and elevated them to the next level immediately. If you look at what they’ve done since he took over in 2013 it’s really hard not to be blown away. I got to see them in person four straight years (2013-2016) when Columbus East met them in the postseason and I gained a ton of respect for him and his team.

  27. SF points do not accumulate across multiple classes when a team moves up/down. The points reset when a team changes classes, so New Pal is on a 2 year cycle for the 2025 and 2026 seasons in 5A. The points they accumulate from the 2025 and 2026 seasons will determine whether they move up to 6A, stay in 5A, or return to 4A in 2027. Enrollment classifications will happen in the spring of 2026 for the 2026-27 and 2027-28 cycle. New Pal will stay in 5A for at least the first year of that cycle due to success factor.

  28. No this is only their first year in 5A. Therefore, this year and next year will determine if they bump up to 6A, remain in 5A, or fall back to 4A for the 2027 and 2028 seasons.

  29. Most went to North Central. One to Lawrence North. A few freshman last year transferred to Chatard. Will be a ripple effect that becomes more noticeable in the coming years.

  30. Attica @ Fountain Central Fountain Central I believe is a good team just riddled by injuries. Not even going to bring up the whole Herb King situation that the prince was arguing about. I think this game comes down to FC just having more athletes. FC wins 42-12 Tenderloins @ North Vermilions Last season when these 2 teams met, they were instant classics. One ending in overtime and one ending on a blocked field goal. This season it won’t be like that. Tenderloins have already secured the conference. Tenderloins will rush for however many yards and touchdowns they want. RP by 50+. Seegers @ The Woofs I have to give credit to the woofs. I had them as the worst team to start the season. Usually I would throw in a remark about getting ready for basketball season in Parke county but the woofs have come alive, do they return to where they were at with the Johnson brothers? Not sure but Coach Rector is building something. Seeger on the other hand is playing well too. I’ll mark this as the game of the week in my books. I think the Patriots put up a battle but I have the Woofs moving to 4-1 with their best start since the 21 season. Woofs 34 Seeger 28 South Vermilions @ The little rubbers Both teams here are feeling the effects of graduation. I’m not sure if this is going to be an offensive battle or a defensive battle, could be either. Neither team is good. I’ll take SV 20-12

  31. And just like that the “It’s unfair that Private schools recruit and public schools wholesomely play by the rules. ” narrative died a quiet death. RIP sweet child. 1907-2025. It was a good life. You will be missed by many, I am sure.

  34. I shall not speak about the game for fear of being cancelled. but there were children throwing a football that apparently they were unable to catch, because it hit me no less than 90 times while fence standing. Chatard threw that game more than cathedral won it

  35. Im not sold on RP yet. Sanders is the best coach in the WRC, and it's not close, but they just haven't been tested yet. They wont get a true test until South Putnam in the sectional, but I also heard SP lost their good back. The starts could be aligning for Sanders after all.

  37. As they should have. Brent Pry was outclassed in the second half in both week 1 and weeks 2 games against South Carolina and Vanderbilt, both totally winnable. I think he lost the locker room after getting outscored by 35 during the second half in a loss to Vanderbilt the week before.

  38. I think Helen Kellers even saw that coming. I think the first 3 weeks were the hardest games on the schedule and could be 3-1 right now. The Loins are going to run the table and FC could win out. Pretty sure Herbs doesn’t want players on the GID. State Law
