  1. Just messing with @Yuccaguy. I'm always impressed with the officiating as we go deeper into the tournament.

  2. You say that every run. 2014, 2019 etc. I'm not sure the apocrapha of HH playbooks exists LOL

  3. First step should probably be potentially taking over at coordinator position at a power 4 conference Then Back to HC. Sure wish Due process was actually utilized.

  4. Pat Fitzgerald's name cleared in settlement....wonder where he will eventually land. Thought the comment from Northwestern was interesting, as they certainly didn't hesitant throwing him under the bus and terminating him. My guess is that he received a very nice check in this settlement. Deservingly so. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/46868954/pat-fitzgerald-vindicated-settlement-seeking-next-job Northwestern fired Fitzgerald amid allegations of hazing in the football program, and Fitzgerald subsequently sued the school for $130 million for wrongful termination. The lawsuit was settled in August, with the terms not disclosed. After the settlement, Northwestern released a statement that noted "inappropriate conduct in the football program did occur." It added: "The evidence uncovered during extensive discovery did not establish that any player reported hazing to Coach Fitzgerald or that Coach Fitzgerald condoned or directed any hazing." The school went on to compliment Fitzgerald's combined 26 years there as a player and coach and "wishes Coach Fitzgerald the best in resuming his football career." There have been significant university changes since the settlement was announced. The most prominent was the resignation of president Michael Schill, who fired Fitzgerald, two weeks after the settlement. Fitzgerald said there are specifics about the settlement that he is not allowed to speak on. But he said, generally: "I feel 100 percent vindicated. You alluded to the statement earlier. I'll let that speak for itself. ... I feel very vindicated. Especially for our players and their families. The facts are the facts."

  5. I’m sure you’re being sarcastic. I’ve personally observed that crew on multiple occasions. They are in the top tier of crews in the state.

  6. I believe there are three “physical” traits and one playing issue that may be hindering his D1 recruitment. 1. And 2. Height and Weight: Program has him at 5’11” and 190 lbs. I’ve also read on recruiting services he is 5’10” 185 lbs. I would tend to believe the recruiting services as we know most programs add a few inches and pounds to program. 3. 40 time. I don’t believe he is a consistent sub 4.5 guy based on watching film. He’s likely 4.5-4.6 range not slow but not a blazer. He's what I call a tweener. He’s not big enough to allow for a slower 40 time and not fast enough to allow for smaller frame. 1. Playing issue: Competition level This is not his fault but the competition level is not that great. Recruiters factor this in as well. So much of recruiting today is also the eye test at Summer Camps. I believe he has attended some of these camps and has not received a ton of interest. This tells me something. As we have all seen in the past, great high school players don’t translate necessarily to D1 status. Now, I do believe he should be our states Mr. Football. He deserves it. Kudos to him for this season and his career at Knox. I hope Knox makes it to LOF so he has a big stage to perform on and show everyone his abilities.

  7. No I get it...we earned it, so we got to wear it. That said - I'm going 42-14 Titans in this one. Best of luck!

  8. I think Mississinewa and Gibson Southern have the best defenses that can slow down Myles. But both have to get out Sectional's and Regional's first.

  9. Looking at that way, yea, I can see them struggling against GS run game if it gets going early on. Since we didn’t have an answer against you guys in the 2nd half. I think MD have a couple of 2-way players in the trenches. Having their QB back is huge for them, but I think GS gets 1 game closer to Lucas Oil after tomorrow night.

  10. You had better have your A$$ dicecting the 'snapper's butt and on LOS as a wide out. We started a State Finals game once with the Right tackle basically in the backfire, and tossed a flag. The next 5 minutes the HC was pleading if he gets a 'warning' . Then complaining about the previous year's penalties aginast them. I wasn't there for that contest. Game 15 of the season... so, hell no! It's an infraction TONIGHT.

  11. A key aspect of this definition is you never see the word "center". There is no mention of the traditional positions in the rule book. The snapper is the person who snaps the ball. There is no center, guard, tackle, quarterback, etc.

  13. Not in a least bit I mean I think I'm very nice guy that I don't disagree with But definitely not wearing thin of any of you guys When we're in this forum here talking collagen professional sports and other things I put myself at the local yocal with you folks with frothy beverages and friendly sport banter That's how I put my mind into these conversations I try to take a emotion and tone completely out of all words I see. Unless it's clear intent

  14. I feel ya Coach....and I appreciate the passion. Just want to restate, I want Loveland to succeed....nothing absolutely negative intended. While a Colts fan, grew up watching the Bears. Want them to do well...glad they are improving and its obvious. I have commented about this recently. Fair enough on your comments about Warren. Its a long season and its just the halfway point.

  15. A player is on the offensive LOS when he meets the definition of a lineman. A lineman is any A player who is facing his opponent's goal line with the line of his shoulders approximately parallel thereto and with his head or foot breaking an imaginary plane drawn parallel to the line of scrimmage through the waist of the snapper when the ball is snapped.

  16. What about the non-football players? And cake eaters?

  17. I can see you are still carrying this....good. Because I will certainly always hold Coach's views above yours when it comes to this game. His football resume blows yours (and mine) out of the water. Park your ego dude....you are a fan of the game with no experience....you'll be just fine.

  20. Well....we do the best with what we got. We're not all blessed with man-eater D-Linemen. .....(don't say it....don't say it....) Or, we're just not as fortunate to get them from other schools when we don't have them. Dangit- I apologize - we were playing nice. I seriously hope you all beat MD by a million

  21. West Central @ LaVille- Lancers win this one convincingly. Frontier's Midwest Conference schedule does them no favors prepping for the post season. Pioneer @ Carroll- Panthers win this in a close one. Cougars only losses coming to Sheridan, Eastern and 3A Maconaquah. Whoever creates the most big plays and limits turnovers will win this one. Fremont @ N. Miami- Warriors ball control offense and tough defense pushes them to the regionals. Hagerstown @ S. Adams- Starfire's offense will be too much setting up a rematch of last year's regional. South Putnam at Riverton Parke- 1A game of the week! Think this game could go either way, but ultimately I think that the Eagle's schedule has prepped them for these big games better than the Panthers. Cloverdale @ Sheridan- I think the Blackhawks will win this one pretty soundly. Tough D and a ground and pound offense will be their ticket to success. North Decatur @ Milan- Its tough to beat the same team twice in the same year. I think the Indians pull this one out. Providence @ North Davies- The Pioneers pull away early and move on to regionals.

  22. Nobody mentions their line. That boy named Cody calls them a one man show. He’s nothing without the hogs.

  23. Yep.....it's a running gag that @Yuccaguy and I have going, dating back to the 2018 season. 🤣

  24. A tip for the uninitiated. Watch the officials on the sidelines. If the official is pointing “back” with arm extended, that means the offensive player closest to him is in the backfield. If he’s not pointing, that means the player closest to him is on the line. The “wing” officials use those signals to help the crew determine if the formation is legal.

  27. Just found out I’ll be at Freed Field Friday night. Excited, not just to observe a very good crew and see a very good football game, but because that place holds so many great memories for me. Worked some HUGE games there over the years. My last game as an on field official was there. Always treated well. A real first class organization.

  28. Who in their right mind cares about a loss to NIU when you make it to the national championship in the same season. Not sure why NIU is even brought up at the point. The national championship game rendered the NIU game 100% irrelevant.

  31. There have been strikes and gutters for sure, but I give Freeman the benefit of the doubt for the losses in year one. Outside of that, the glaring one is NIU, which was inexcusable. He seems to be doing a good job.

  34. FC plays that same schedule and they’d have the same record, if not better than South Put. You’re welcome to disagree but there’s no reason for name calling. I’d like to think you've been taught better than that.

  35. How Familiar are you with South's Schedule? I'm not sure FC would more than two games on their schedule. I have come to the conclusion that you sir should win the ultimate troll award. Congratulations!

  36. South Putnam made a statement Friday night by dominating a very very good Fountain Central Mustang squad 45–7. FC was easily one of the toughest opponents they’ll face all season but South Put controlled the game from start to finish. At this point it’s hard to see anyone in 1A slowing them down. They look poised to walk right into the state finals.
