  1. Well.....all I know is if I don’t get my wife on a vacation somewhere next week it won’t be the virus that kills me.

  2. If it's a Disney cruise, it's already been cancelled. Disney has suspended operations thru the end of the month. They have a boat leaving Port Canaveral today returning Monday, two boats returning tomorrow, and they have another boat currently at sea returning next week. No boats leaving after today until April 1. I'm calling bullshit, I happen to know for a fact that Mrs. Lysander is a saint.

  4. In two weeks; but I am staying on FMB and not Sanibel. I do go to Sanibel and Captiva at least once time I am down there; gotta get to the Bubble Room. It is an absolute MUST. Oh yeah, and the sunsets are kinda cool there too. :)

  5. 2 years I think. I don't think Seymour having it was ever brought up. They have awesome facilities. A couple of our renovations were replacing facilities that were built in the 60s, some of them were simply things that had to be done.

  7. As I have stated several times, I have been involved in a couple of media stories, one of which garnered some national attention. The amount of misinformation, in some cases outright lies is astounding to me. To think at the very least the media isn't manipulative is sticking your head in the sand. And I know local media doesn't like to be tied into the CNN's/Fox/MSNBC's of the world, but they are just as culpable. I saw an article posted just last week on one of the Indy TV stations in regards to one of my stories, numerous fallacies to the point it was pretty much laughable in my opinion. Some of it is clearly incompetence, but some of it is clearly intentional. How else could you watch CNN and Fox coverage of the same story and get two completely different stories?

  8. I’ve been to Costa Rica before, San Jose and Jaco. This time I’ll be in the Guanacaste province. I love to hike, so I go to places like Palo Verde and Rincon de la Vieja National Parks. Great beer, too—Bohemia and Imperial: salud!

  9. My brother cruises out of NOLA. He has one scheduled at the end of this month, I was just about to text him to see what's up. Good luck man.

  10. This whole thing has become a mess to say the least. The biggest issue I see is with schools that are issuing 14 day quarantines how do you keep track of/monitor who has eligibility and who does not. The IHSAA would have to come out with something soon, especially after the NCAA's decision yesterday and the various states which are mandating extended e-learning and mass school closures. Definitely very fluid and with folks leaving or already gone on Spring Break it makes it even more difficult. Impossible for track meets, takes too many volunteers to adequately run a meet. Also an insurance nightmare.

  12. Great place. Been sword and blue marlin fishing there. But aside from any of that, just a great vacation. My oldest just returned home last week from there. Hope you get to go.

  15. https://www.vox.com/2020/3/10/21171481/coronavirus-us-cases-quarantine-cancellation FTA: Yet the speed at which the outbreak plays out matters hugely for its consequences. What epidemiologists fear most is the health care system becoming overwhelmed by a sudden explosion of illness that requires more people to be hospitalized than it can handle. In that scenario, more people will die because there won’t be enough hospital beds or ventilators to keep them alive. A disastrous inundation of hospitals can likely be averted with protective measures we’re now seeing more of — closing schools, canceling mass gatherings, working from home, self-quarantine, self-isolation, avoiding crowds — to keep the virus from spreading fast. Epidemiologists call this strategy of preventing a huge spike in cases “flattening the curve,” and it looks like this: “Even if you don’t reduce total cases, slowing down the rate of an epidemic can be critical,” wrote Carl Bergstrom, a biologist at the University of Washington in a Twitter thread praising the graphic, which was first created by the CDC, adapted by consultant Drew Harris, and popularized by the Economist. The chart has since gone viral with the help of the hashtag #FlattenTheCurve.

  22. China hints at denying Americans life-saving coronavirus drugs: https://www.foxnews.com/world/chinese-deny-americans-coronavirus-drugs lol. Now that is has been proven that Russia had nothing to do with the manipulating the 2016 elections the MSM, particularly Fox News, has to find another boogeyman/enemy to scare the American public. China is now on the block.

  23. We'll just mark it down as a gaffe on your part. Not so fast there my.........oh, wait. Nevermind. In any case, the definition of posse refers to a "group" of people. We have 3 Trump Groupies(when Howard decides to leave Mom's basement for a bit), 1 Feel the Bern guy, Uncle Joe is sitting all alone on(or off) his rocker on the porch of the Shady Rest, 1 guy who hates everybody, and the rest of us are just sitting here enjoying our popcorn waiting for the 'real' circus to start. So I'd say the only group that qualifies as a "posse" would be the Trump Groupies. Or in this case, should it be spelled Trump's Pusse?
