  1. But pnuemonia is no where near as contagious as Covid, no where near as deadly for their older relatives or teachers and, again, there is no vaccine, treatment or cure for Covid. School districts are obviously legally liable for all aspects of this virus once they open the door. How do you reconcile that problem?

  5. I'm not an official, and I address coaches as "Coach". I don't remember ever addressing one by his/her first name. I urge my student athlete children to do the same.

  7. Maybe 1 out of every 10-15 with a mask. Not really what I would consider social distancing....people sitting/standing side by side along the sidelines. Lots of signs, etc. about it, though. Anyone that appeared associated with the park was wearing a mask. It wasn’t really any different than the tournament they had there 3-4 weeks ago. To be honest, if I hadn’t been paying attention, I might not have even noticed there was anyone wearing masks. Place was packed....took me almost 15-20 minutes to get from the parking lot to US31 once the second game I watched ended at 12:30.

  8. https://www.bostonglobe.com/2020/01/27/opinion/cognitive-dissonance-trump-reelection-buzz-davos/ That has nothing to do with the fact that we aren't in school yet and the virus might be passed around at practices. Obviously people are being tested and positive cases are being found.

  9. I know my info is correct, but no reason to rehash. Wish him well, from what I've heard he is good athlete, always like to see kids get second chance, succeed and have opportunity to move on.

  10. You should have kicked yourself. Correction though. Dave Grohl isn't one of the best all around musicians in music today. Hes one of the best all around musicians of all time. Drummer for Nirvana to Lead singer and guitarist of FF. Taylor Hawkins can really jam on drums. My dream band would be Anthony Kiedis on vocals Flea on bass Grohl on back up vocals and guitar Taylor Hawkins on drums.

  11. Pneumonia is very contagious! And is deadly for older people and younger people! It’s time to open the schools up and let the kids play! if you don’t want to go to a game don’t! You don’t want your kid to go to school or play then don’t! But as a whole it’s time to move on!

  12. Play on as scheduled. If schools want to shutdown their football team, let them, but don’t tell others school to do the same. If Lake County schools want to shutdown, this should not effect Evansville schools.

  15. Still kicking myself that I left out the Foo Fighters. Damn Dave F’ing Grohl is a badass. He may be one of the best all around musicians in music today. They put on a fantastic live show.

  16. Was not sure which of the fifty or so threads that are going now about the start of the year/season. 🤣https://www.wibc.com/news/local-indiana/ihsaa-to-allow-schools-offering-virtual-classes-to-still-participate-in-fall-sports/

  18. You know I'm not sure where everyone is located but I will say this.... I know this isn't high school Football, but I pretty much remained silent through all this on these forums. My oldest daughter is halfway through her softball season and we are very fortunate. I live in a once upon a time COVID Hotspot that made national news during the outbreak! I really feel for all Coaches, parents, and players with High School Sports and quite frankly It is emotional just typing this out and I'm not an emotional guy! My daughter hit her 2nd home run last night this season and it all happened so quick, but when she stomped on home plate it was all slow motion afterwards. Watching the joy and the excitement on her face, and seeing her teammates clear the dugout while the coaches were jumping and screaming, and seeing my wife get emotional while her little sister was going bezerk was truly an amazing feeling and it felt like an eternity to me. I honestly grew up respecting the opportunity I had with sports but didn't fathom the bigger picture. I have seen the fear on these Forums of no season whether its for a senior son playing their final season, or a coach in fear for the kids who don't have much other than football, or a megafan who just simply cannot live without watching a game, or a ref who does it for the love for the sport! I can honestly say I really really Hope this will pass for everyone so everyone will experience that feeling I had last night. After the Game was the best night of the year spent with my wife and kids. All of this was sparked from a competitive atmosphere and I cannot thank the league enough because I will not take these little things for granted anymore. So thankful there is normalcy coming for sports and my daughter had the opportunity to smack that ball! All I'm trying to say is if my city can recover all the others can too! Just have hope the tide will flip!

  19. Harrison was an early president but the controversy surrounds him leading the military against Native Americans before the was president.? I dont get the controversy. He was the 9th president of the USA...and he was governor of the Indiana Territory. He was fighting FOR the USA.. I would honor him. This revisionist push cant come to Indiana. We're by definition 'the land of the Indians" What about Chief Elkhart or Chief Wawasee? Indiana Princess Mishawaka.? What about General Anthony Wayne (for whom Fort Wayne is named)? What about John Newton, a soldier in the revolutionary war, for when Newton County (South and North Newton high schools) is named.? I'm sure they led battles where many died. Speaking for myself, I dont want to look into the background of everyone whose name adorns and school, town or county to find something that could be considered wrong in the modern day. I like the fact that Indiana honors both generals and Native Americans.

  20. Seriously, another one of thes topics? I know we all miss sports in general and are anxious to find out what's gonna happen, but these "should we go back on time" topics have proven time and again to be counter productive. No disrespect to the initial poster here (looking at you @Football Guru 25) but come on...

  22. From CDC numbers 152 deaths from people under 24 and ALL had serious underlying conditions.. if its the safety of the student athletes we are worried about. We could save more lives preaching to not text and drive rather than Covid. Schools have afforded kids parents the opportunity to not have to send there kids to school. So if grandma and grandpa are raising a kid.. they don't have to go to school or play. That argument is gone. Kids are out running around with zero restrictions right now in public. The only thing holding them accountable is sports. That is the only time most kids are getting screened and forced to distance. Why cut out the one thing that holds them accountable?.

  26. Obviously not football, but I saw (as I understand it) probably over 200 lacrosse teams from all over the Midwest at Grand Park today playing full bore. God only knows how many baseball teams there as well. About 3 weeks ago there were also over 200 lacrosse teams at Grand Park. Club sports are going at it like normal.

  27. Correct. I'm confident a Wal Mart "Health Ambassador" will inform an incoming customer of the mask requirement and the result will be similar to the video.

  28. Indianapolis implemented a mandatory public mask policy last Thursday. A lot of business owners and their staff are not complying. I went to Kroger yesterday and there was a Marion County Sheriff's Deputy and a Beech Grove Police officer in uniform and neither one were wearing a mask. The Wal Mart in Beech Grove is a massive Super Center. I expect some fireworks starting next Monday.

  29. Atlanta Mayor Keisha Bottoms Tests Positive For COVID-19 After Marching with Black Lives Matter Militants Atlanta Mayor Keisha Bottoms announced late Monday evening that she tested positive for COVID-19. “COVID-19 has literally hit home,” the mayor wrote. “I have had NO symptoms and have tested positive.” The Mayor said during an interview with CNN that her husband and one of her children also tested positive for the virus. Keisha Bottoms marched with Black Lives Matter militants on June 4. She was wearing a mask and the media tells us that protesting with BLM is safe so how did she get infected with COVID-19?

  30. The link posted did not state opposition to Trump wearing a mask. It is ridiculous to watch the Democrats and their mainstream media propaganda machine complain about Trump wearing a mask. If Trump is recorded wearing a mask any more they will be opposed to masks soon. Trump Derangement Syndrome is a mental illness.

  31. Democrats and their mainstream media propaganda machine take the exact opposite position to anything Trump says or does. If Trump is broadcast on video wearing a mask again they will be against it. The mandatory public mask mandate in Indianapolis has been in effect for three days. The owners of two gas stations and about half of their staff were not wearing masks. Most of the customers were not wearing masks. The staff of a local bar were wearing masks but none of the customers were wearing masks. The manufacturing plant where I work has around 800 employee's who were not wearing masks. Our plant has had no problems purchasing surgical masks for over 1,000 employee's throughout the coronavirus outbreak and we never shut down. If wearing a mask is crucial it would have been beneficial for Dr. Facui, the Center for Disease Control and the World Health Organization to advise people as such early in the outbreak instead of advising people the exact opposite. "Science" typically does not determine the exact opposite of their original analysis in a few months.
