  1. I'm a huge Memorial fan, so I like to help out where I can. #FTF

  2. After a three-team tie for first place last year, the TRC is gonna look a little different this year. Valley is out. Cass is in. Interested to hear what teams are returning and what they lost. Southwood and Northfield graduated quite a bit of talent at the skill positions if I'm not mistaken. Mac has speed all over the place. Wabash a three year starter at quarterback. North Miami is always tough to defend running the triple. I don't know much about Manchester other than they will have a new coach running the show. Not sure about Peru or Whitko either. I know Cass had a pretty good team last year, had a few key guys graduate but they got a three year starter at qb as well running the show so that always helps. Rochester returns a lot of experience, but are gonna need some guys to step up in order to have a good season. Who do you have this year as the champion? Any news or predictions on some of the teams as a lot of talent graduated from the conference last year.

  3. Carmel and Westfield will start playing each other in week 2 in 2024. 2024 game is at Westfield, and 2025 game is at Carmel.

  4. Warren is ducking CG under the disguise of racism when it’s really just virtue signaling, hurt feelings and repeated beat downs.

  5. I just don't see Center Grove being any different than some of the other dynasties I've seen throughout the years. It's hard for me to imagine a fellow 6A competitor not wanting to play them.

  6. I'm presuming the students show up in full force during big games? If not, that's a serious problem. It's hard to not get pumped up for high school football. Too bad more people are interested in universities they have no association with and overpaid NFL franchises. Why not support the kids in their own communities? Hard to beat those Snider/Penn games for $7. Same could be said for rivalries in every area of the state.

  7. I have another thing to add... and that is that I know in Linton and for other men kids from small school football programs, it is a HUGE honor to be selected to play in all-star games... especially with a state north-south game. These kids are held in high regard for such an honor and the town they represent are extremely proud.... none of these guys is going Div 1 or heading to the NFL... so it truly is a big moment to take the field with fellow players from across indiana. I don't want to see these events disappear.

  9. Some schools/ school corporations will mandate a week off this week, especially if they start classes the first week of August. Coaches might also give the week off so that the players are fresh come day 1 of practice

  11. I know the Kings are new, but I think it is common knowledge that this is the Zebras year! Loaded!!!! I have heard about this class all the way down here in Walton. Maybe the Braves will at least make you guys work up a sweat. I see the Kings a middle of the conference team with the players they lost from last year. As a fan it will be fun to go to some new fields.

  12. One area school bragged that they played 50 basketball games May-June! Irishman is wrong. It is 12 days for football in the summer with 5 being competitive. Helmet and shoulder pads may be worn on those 12 days or not, but both count towards your days.

  15. I don't totally disagree with your comment about the Warriors. But first things first..... 1) Win a 5A title before you outgrow the division 2) Start agreeing to play CG as backyard neighbor

  17. Ok. Time to OUT myself! There wasn't a damned thing that we could do as officials to temper the situation That also applies to the Head Coaches involved. (I have a problem with ONE Assistant .. but I'll keep that to myself). I have forwarded suggestions to others as to how to mitigate the problems in the ensuing years. Hopefully these suggestions will be considered We, hopefully realize that the players were not necessarily the 'true' representation of Indiana All-Stars in many cases. But the majority of them were there to be given a fair assessment of the ability to allow them to perform at the next level Sadly, a few knuckleheads thought this was their star moment to focus on them. I am sure that scouts/schools decided....NO it's not worth the effort. I'm sure that some have a MAJOR response as to what they/wouldn't do.... but I'm totally 'Scott' convinced that I've been there done that at levels that I expect to be, always! You may never be.... Let's learn, move beyond this incident. Time to make changes and adapt.

  18. Sometimes your better off being a fan of the game itself instead of putting all your eggs in one basket. I get it though, I can see Penn fans getting restless. It's like Notre Dame, fans expect a certain quality of play after decades of prosperity. Penn always had, and probably still does, have one of the best fan bases in the state. They would bring 2500 fans to Spuller Stadium.

  19. I didn't attend in person, but watched the stream and it was sad. It didn't take a behavioral specialist to see what players were instigating much of the issues, and the matter may have been avoided by simply benching them early on. Whether the coaches had 3 days or three years, its pretty easy to take a kid's helmet and tell him to enjoy the rest of the game from the sidelines.

  20. I was surprised when I heard that they may be moved back to 4A. But heard that last year too. Will see how it turns out. I know the first two games will not be fun to watch.

  21. It is truly unfortunate to hear the unnecessary ending to the North-South All-Star Football Classic. For the player, this is a great honor to represent youself, the high school team you played on, your family, and your school. Everyone involved should be held to a higher standard. If you want to play in this event, then you follow the rules, listen to the coaches, play hard and clean, and with great sportsmanship. If you want to display unnecessary roughness, cheap shot and other unsporting behavior, then you just don't play. After this year, the organization leadership should address everyone moving forward about what the expectation will be during the game. I do believe that the Coaches and Game Officials are ultimately in control of the game once it is started. This group along with the event administration make the ultimate decision. I also believe that each coaching staff makes the decision as to who plays and who does not - All-Star game or not. Yes, coaches want players to play. Make a rotation, 1s and 2s, whatever. With that said, the expectataion is made clear. The coaches and officials are the adults here. Someone step up, be a leader and stop the non-sense. Football is football. Physical, hard-hitting, good competition. If a player(s) don't want to act like an athlete, then they get removed. Plain and simple! Everyone knows how the game is meant to be played. I hope this is a lesson that is learned by everyone involved. In all honesty, this should have never happened. Best to everyone! As always, the game is better from_the_sidelines007
