But those were true enrollment, not after being bumped due to the Success Factor.

You're thinking of winning state after being bumped due to the Success Factor.

Luers isn’t bumped up, really.  Nor is Adams Central.

I’m also glad that they get a shot to match up to G*d’s gift to football again.  May the better team win!

This post makes perfect sense Luers enrollment put them in 3A, as published by the IHSAA. And ever since they all in football playoffs whomever Lewers meats in the championship has been called, God’s gift to football. You win some, you’ll lose some. The better team will show up.

For everyone talking up Luers SOS, go ahead and take a look at the Sagarin ratings in 3a on SOS.  Then find Evansville Memorial SOS, compare it to Luers SOS, then notice that Heritage Hills beat Evansville Memorial by 2 touchdowns.  That is all….

The team that has the best matchup is going to win. I would throw strength of schedule out the door. Whoever can exploit the best match up is going to win.

Luers had two 9th grade classes in a row.  (This year was 20-25 kids more than usual, maybe?)  It bumped them up into 3A this year -- by enrollment; even though they had already been moved by "success factor," they also now are there by enrollment.   I think Luers total enrollment this year is around 530.

If ya want to get BLHS.  Do it THIS year!

I had the lower levels as an official, and I'm convinced that they have RELOADED and will be a force in 3A for at least the next 3 seasons

If you wanted to take a cynical view they took more students because they knew they were going up by success factor 🤷‍♂️

We would get a little more daylight in the evenings this time of year.

How would that be any sort of factor at all???

Oh. Wait. You think they accepted more football players because they went up to 3A by success factor?

I think that might be less cynical... maybe more fanciful.

In any case, that's nottwhat happened here. They didn't admit extra football players into the 9th grade class due to the success bump.

But I am quite interested in how you imagine that could be a potential "thing." Do you imagine that freshmen football players would make an impact during a 3A "success factor" post-season run.

This Luers team is "young" but not freshmen-young. My goodness!

The Indystar preview of the game spends most of their podcast telling us about HH and how good they are.  Very little time spent talking about Luers.  I guess Luers will show up to get the runner-up trophy.  https://www.indystar.com/videos/sports/high-school/2024/11/26/ihsaa-football-state-finals-3a-preview-with-preps-insider-kyle-neddenriep-ft-wayne-bishop-luers-vs-h/76595616007/

The Indy Star doesn't know anything about football outside their own area, if we're being completely honest. Unless of course their writers are hiding behind anonymity and reading this forum.

Agree. Great season for Heritage Hills. Congrats to the team and community on thier second state championship. For Luers, it was a great run in 3A. Nothing to hang their heads about.

What’s hilarious is that this year’s Luers team might be the least talented team they have sent to a state title game. From all accounts, there are some really good players in the pipeline over the next few years
