Winners win…and anything can happen.

When I hear that, I think of Jacob Runyan. He always said "winners win."

While confident that HH will win the PAC again, I'm also confident Gibson and Memorial can win 3A next year.

Don't be too confident.

Just got home from IU. Well done Patriots! Congrats on a great season. Will again be interesting to see how Sectional 32 looks next year.

I am super pumped.

Congrats to our boys for a heck of a season, and congrats to Luers on winning the north.  A good team with some excellent athletes.

I have to say,  I'm glad this one wasn't close.  These boys and this community needed this.  Like Coach Wilk said, "we love our 2000 boys and Cutler, but we are ready to talk about something else."  Thanks guys, you will be talked about a long time.

The fire trucks waiting when we got back to Spencer County and the line of cars bringing this group home was something.  I've never seen so much traffic on I-69.

Some of you folks trying to take the high road and put these comments on the HH fans need to take an another look at the 3rd post of this thread that kicked everything off.  You talk the game then for some reason claim the HH fans are “something”, give me a break!  I didn’t partake or even predict a score, but don’t pretend this was one sided banter.  Congrats to both teams on a great season!   Both teams got here because they earned it!  It’s a great day to be a Patriot, as always!  Onward, onward, Heritage Hills … !!

that guy has 11 posts and 3 of them are in this thread lol

Just a comment that occurred to me earlier in the week when some were making comments regarding one team having 12 State Championships and HH not playing the schedule that Luers played.  At the time, I just bit my tongue.

My first thought was that Heritage Hills would likely have around 10 State Championships but for the fact they almost always faced Chatard in SemiState.

The other thought I had was HH always brought it against Chatard and it was a bruising tough game….regardless who Chatard had played during the regular season.

Congrats to HH.

I seriously appreciate this comment.  I was having this very discussion with my brother in law, "how many state titles if not for a team that rhymes with Chatard?" 2001, 2002, 2004. 2005....among others and a few of those games were very close, oh well here we are.  Maybe we recover from graduation next year and meet again????

4A is gonna be a different challenge but potential matchups with reitz and jasper should be a lot of fun

Jasper is the potential game I want.  There is a ton of hate in that game and it became a heck of a rivalry.  HH leads that serious 11-10 when it ended with their entrance into the SIAC.

Enjoy the celebrations!  This took a lot of work and commitment.  The well deserved fun will continue for some time.  I can tell you first hand that it will be hard to get the students to settle back down for learning to take place.

Oh Fo Sho!  Forget the students... what the hell am I going to do at work without checking back in here every 15 minutes to argue with you guys?! 😉   Going to be one hell of a long boring 9 months that's for sure!  Couldn't be happier with the results of this season though.

Luers was a good team.  I'd put money on Memorial beating them, and would be very interested in seeing them vs Gibson Southern.  Maybe next year 🙂

Go HOOSIERS!!!

I'll be surprised if Heritage Hills keeps this within 3 scores. Luers has played far and away better competition in the regular season. They will have way too much speed and their Dline will out-physical Heritage Hills Oline. Luers 31-6.

Boy was I wrong (lol), and deserve all the kickback and dragging I get. Was in Bloomington all weekend for the Bucket, only caught the first half. QB really shut me up and should be near the top of Mr. Football candidates next year. I really didn't foresee Luers' DL getting out-physicaled like that, but again, extremely wrong. Congrats to HH team, coaches, and community! It's a great feeling, don't take it for granted!

In 2017 & 2018 players and parents/fans were able to congregate in the mezzanine area just down from the Oil Can Grill or whatever its called. In 2019 it was out the door and into the parking lot, and the team bus had to leave the facility so we were on McCarty Street S of the LOS parking lot. It is not a good look for the IHSAA in my opinion.

yup, all the hoopla....take it to the parking lot in 20 degree weather.  We didn't really care, then we went back to the school for the same thing....snowballs were flying.

Stinky, Stink, Stink 1.2..3....I think it is time for the Clown to speak about this game!

The Patriots stormed from Lincoln City,
To the Oil Can, showing no pity.
Fort Wayne Catholics thought they’d run the show,
But Heritage Hills shouted, “Not so!”

The clowns were drunk, the nuns were bold,
Hook-ups rumored (or so it’s told).
For Luers fans, that might have been bright,
‘Cause their team’s game? A downright fright.

StinkTown swears they’ll be back next year,
With Tiger BLs and cans of cheer.
If Semi-State brings them down south,
Expect empty cans and a rowdy mouth!

Public schools forever, they do it right,
Private school cheaters? Stay out of sight.
So here’s to the Patriots, champs of the day,
Lincoln City’s pride, the 3A way!

In the IHSAA's defense (that hurt to type) they are not the facilitators for Lucas Oil Stadium. They are the ones who present the State Finals but Lucas Oil Stadium has their own security that deems where parents, fans, players, and coaches can go. The IHSAA has no say in where the players, coaches, fans, and parents can go after the game, that is entirely controlled by the CSC Indianapolis. You likely saw a lot of them during your time at Lucas Oil Stadium in the yellow or blue shirts or jackets. The IHSAA staff, all media, all teams (coaches and players), and paying fans and parents are guests at Lucas Oil Stadium alike.

Completely agree on this. With that being said, some of the CSC employees are a joke. After the 2A game, I was heading down to find my wife and kid (I was helping with the HUDL filming) and they would not let me through a door due to it being exit only (they made it exit only as I could enter through it earlier). When asked why I needed to go through, I stated my wife and kid are leaving and I am suppose to meet them at their seats. They said well if you are leaving, you do not need to enter.  I finally decided to not be an a** and walked around to make it down to them.

The CSC folks told us the IHSAA did not want players going from the locker room to the concourse to meet families and they would have to depart from the tunnel on the team busses.

Makes perfect sense I mean why would players want to see mom and dad? Just another stupid “because I said so” policy.

No kidding. But it’s all about the kids right?

it’s just another example of the Indy-centric thinking by the IHSAA brass. They fail to realize that Indianapolis is a destination point.

it’s not just mom and dad, but also grandparents, older siblings, aunts, and uncles, and so forth who are spending a holiday weekend together.  They’ve all gathered to watch Johnny play in the state championship. They just want to give him a hug and congratulate him. They may not have the ability to drive back to Fort Wayne, Evansville , Crown Point, etc.

it’s no big deal to go back to the high school to celebrate when it is barely past 465. But if it’s a 2+ hour drive away it’s a completely different story.
