Luers qon their first 3a semi state in school history..10.8 HH wi be slightly faster then legends qb..problematic..I do see the cyo has underdogs..how many teams have bumped up n won state besides cathedral n maybe ec??

East Central has only won state in 4A.

Ev. Memorial won 3A in 2017 and 4A in 2019. I believe we are the only 3A to win state in 4A.

I think New Pal won after being bumped.

New pal 4a/5a? Weird ac n luers both made runs after being bumped up. Any program winning back to back in multiple classes is crazy work.

Yes, we are one of an handful of teams that has won 2 titles from 2 different classes. I believe there are 3 or 4 total. I believe it’s us, New Pal, and Cathedral. There may be another school too.

Cathedral is an anomoly. There's really not a team in Indiana, that I know of, that you can compare them to. Are they a true 4A, 5A, or 6A? I'm not sure anyone really knows, it's all opinionated. East Central is 4A, yet to win 5A. I honestly don't know the answer to your question.

Well... I am not sure that just tallying "Wins/Losses" without looking at *how* they won/lost is really the best way to look at it.

One of those Ls was to 6A Homestead.  Luers lost 14-19.   Luers also lost 0-8 against Dwenger - a 4A/5A  perennial powerhouse. 

So... Hardly blow-outs. 

Luers beat 5A Northrop and 5A North Side.  They beat 4A Wayne (with two D1 recruits on that team.) 

 

Now -- how does that competition (wins or losses) compare to the matchups that HH won??  Well... that's really the question isn't it?? 

And I suspect that no one can really answer it... until Saturday.

  Should be fun.

You know what, I’m wrong about this, there’s been many of times of school’s winning different classes. Maybe I was thinking of moving up a class the following year and then winning state.

Congratulations to our Patriots on winning the 5th Semi-State Championship in the history of our program!

First Ever Matchup

Heritage Hills (13-1) vs Fort Wayne Bishop Luers (10-4) Lucas Oil Stadium Indianapolis, IN Saturday, November 30, 2024 2:00 pm CST Kickoff   This is the 1st ever meeting between Heritage Hills and the Fort Wayne Bishop Luers Knights.   This season Heritage Hills is averaging 39.9 ppg on offense and giving up 9.4 ppg on defense, while the FW Bishop Luers Knights are averaging 25.8 ppg and giving up 15.1 ppg.   The Luers offense is led by senior running back, Daryea Williams, who has accumulated 1,351 yards rushing this season and 60 yards receiving. Williams has 15 rushing touchdowns on the season.   On Defense, the Knights’ junior defensive tackle, Jarron Taylor, leads the team with 90 total tackles and 17 tackles for loss.

Children 5 and under are free. All seats are General Admission. Per Lucas Oil Stadium policy, all ticket sales are digital only; printed tickets will not be used. All purchased tickets will be viewed and managed on the purchaser's smart phone. The tickets must then be shown on a smart phone at the entrance gate for admittance to the stadium Tickets can be purchased in three ways:   Lucas Oil Stadium Ticket Office Advance Sales Mobile tickets may be purchased in advance at the Lucas Oil Stadium Ticket Office IN PERSON ONLY, Tues-Fri from 9 am-5 pm EST with no additional fees being charged. Please call 317-262-3389 to confirm office is open. Tickets will be sent to the purchaser's smart phone. Look up 3A #1-Evansville Memorial and 3A #3 Gibson Southern.  Both teams undefeated in Indiana with the exception of their Heritage Hills games.  Memorial was undefeated in the SIAC which has plenty of 4A and 5A teams.  The whole stiffer competition for Luers argument really doesn't hold much water when you look into it.  I'm with you in the hopes that it's a great game.  After Saturday we'll have all the answers we need, but talking smack about it before hand is half the fun!!  I'm so ready for Saturday Afternoon!!  It is definitely going to be interesting!!!  Take it away Mills!

And to add, yes we beat Memorial who ran the table in the SIAC of which one of those teams won the 4a sectional and one won the 5a sectional.

It appears Heritage Hills has much larger lines on both sides of the ball than Luers while comparing the 2 deeps and rosters posted in the Finals Preview.
