One week to go in the regular season but with the draw being last night, figured it'd be as good a time as any to generate some discussion around the 6A tournament.

About "as balanced" as its been in a while with Carmel in the north but one thing that stuck out to me is that amazingly every 6A bracket draw with the exception of Sectional 7 (which I maintain Warren's JV could win) pits the top two teams on opposite sides of the bracket, thus ensuring the best two teams meet for the sectional title if chalk holds.

Its hard to not see a collision course between Carmel and Brownsburg, though I do give Westfield, Center Grove and Lawrence North a puncher's chance.

Are teams like Fishers, Hamilton Southeastern, Decatur Central or Avon capabale of pulling an upset or two?

Temp's Title Odds:

Carmel - 30%

Brownsburg - 25%

Center Grove - 15%

Westfield - 15%

Lawrence North - 10%

The Field - 5%

Whatcha think?

Balanced ??? Carmel just beat down Warren and Ben Davis by 40 , not to mention Fishers and Westfield by multiple scores . If these were Northern teams , we would never hear the end of it . There is always 2 elite teams at the top . This year it's BB and Carmel .

No North teams on your list. Field gets 5% of which those are probably South teams as well. History tells me you are right, but what if Crown Point is legit and somehow Carmel doesn’t represent the North at state? If not Carmel from the North then who?

Westfield, HSE...we know what you're searching for, sorry Carroll and Crown Point, it's not happening this year.

Can't mention Westfield and LN while leaving out Crown Point and Carroll. That shows some Indy bias in my opinion.

Wooo yeah everyone crown point can do this they are definitely a top 5 team just like every year!!!

Don't anyone here ever disagree with me or @Boilernationwill come to tell you that you are being disrespectful.

Absolutely no filth about the Northwest being uncompetitive

Crown Point/Carroll = The Field

Bias, yes. Unfair bias, no. The best predictor of the future is what has happened in the past.

Ill go on a limb and say Dinan will be ready for the playoffs with that WR. He is D1, id go madden and just throw it up every time! I cant buy into crown point just yet..Carmel has not been great in recent years, any chances they stub their toe while learning to be "Carmel" again?

Not under Kevin Wright IMO.

Not saying they couldn’t slip up, but if they do, it will be more so because of what Westfield (or someone else) does as opposed to what Carmel doesn’t do.

How wrong you are. I have been negative about Carroll and Crown Point to the extent that 23 and Counting has called me out on it. I was more just searching for a 2nd choice from the North should Carmel stub its toe….

Westfield, pretty easy answer.

I think right now I am throwing my hat in the ring of CP or Westfield. If Westfield pulls out the sectional win over Carmel I would like them as the favorite to win that regional and then CP at Semi State.

I know my brothers from Ft. Wayne are very high on Carroll, which they are the only team to square up with the Indy Metro area more than once this year, I think they match up with CP well, but I think CP may hold a slight advantage. I hold the right to change my mind once I see them play Penn.

One brother is high on Carroll, 23 and Counting, not me.

I agree. IDK what it is about Kevin Wright, but his teams are always at a state title.

2010 they went 9-2 Fishers won state that year.

2012 after destroying Penn in state the year before Warren caught Carmel in 3ot in sectional round 1. Those are the outliers while at Carmel. Otherwise he was at a State game.

He will likely go down as one of the best coaches in Indiana HS football history.

Westfield followed by CP

Carmel vs whoever should be fun in the finals.

Kevin Wright showing there's levels to this, and he's at a different level than most coaches statewide.
