Carroll always seems to have a lapse here and there, but then again, most teams do. Elkhart's program isn't anywhere near Carroll at the moment. A loss would be a VERY bad look for the gem of the northeast.

That's on the coach. I'm an advocate for big enrollments and talented players, but that's only 50% of it. The other 50% is massive, especially when rumbling with the big boys.

I agree, these are high school kids and D1 talent always scares me come post season, especially first round. I have seen NFL talent defeated during the postseason though. I know Dinan will have them laser focused, well as much as possible, halloween and cheerleader girlfriends are a heck of a combination for some lads! 10 years ago kids from Carroll were ducking out of bounds, damn I wish Dinan could have stayed.

The Isaacs/Dinan/Tippman combination was a lethal force in the late 90's & 00's. I regularly dubbed them as the best program in the state during those times. No different than college, good coaches move on. And Dinan is doing a great job at Carroll where he's won 8 of his last 9 against Snider. The Chargers are officially the benchmark of NE Indiana.

That doesn't tell me anything. Presuming it has to do with Carroll beating Elkhart. On paper this is about a 17-21 point game. We'll see. You must think Elkhart is really bad since you think Carroll isn't that good this year.

Quote me correctly, I said this is Carroll’s worst team in the last 5 years. Doesn’t mean they aren’t “good”, it is actually a compliment to how well they have played the last 5 years. I personally don’t think they are a threat to get to state as Carmel and Westfield are just better this year and in previous years Carroll was a threat to go to state. Hell, they didn’t even win the SAC this year….

You did say that, yes. Seems like you said a lot of stuff though. I wouldn't even know where to begin to look.

Look at your inbox… probably where most of it is regarding Carroll

How can a school that large not have the talent on the lines? No wrestlers, shot put or discus guys to pull from? I will give Isaacs credit for churning out linemen, even the smaller ones gain great technique. Do they not have enough coaches? im not talking Northside with more coaches than players, yet at least enough for a solid O-Line coach that could learn a thing a two from some camps? Sorry North, they are just an easy target..

Elkhart certainly has the athletes roaming the halls . With a real good coaching staff and youth program  , the sky would be the limit.

Not sure why it made me think of this thread, but I found it amusing that two of the IHSAA State Finals matches in the soccer tournament this weekend are Guerin Catholic vs Bishop Chatard (boys) and Carmel vs Hamilton Southeastern (girls).

Amusing how? That Indianapolis basically dominates everything? Congratulations.

Pretty awesome. I imagine Penn still has one of the best sports cultures in the state. I know they are good at baseball. It's just a matter of time before they're competing for state championships in football again. They have the resources.

Nah, you’re reading too much into it.

Just bizarre that HSE/Carmel are on opposite sides of the bracket, along with Guerin and Chatard.

P/Ps and $ dominating.

Nah I tried

I never tried. It's just guys who were too small and frail to play football.

Game winning PAT for Northrop over Snider last night.

The game tying TD on 4th down

Thanks for the clips.

Pretty much the story of the night for Northrop. They needed several key 4th down conversions to pull this game out. Every time Snider had an opportunity to put the game away, Northrop pulled through on a 4th down it seems.

Snider fought. On the surface, it looked like an ugly season for Snider. But the kids played hard and with passion. They'll be back.

I’ve seen a couple angles. Pretty clear they got it right.

I agree!  All LN needed to do was tackle him instead of trying to strip him.  I guess it could have been inadvertent though.  Either way that was one fun game to watch.  It will be something to see if LC has anything left for Decatur Central.  They were sky high for LN!

I heard there were multiple disqualifications in the DC game. Wonder if that will have an impact.

I haven't heard that, but that's quite interesting!  The game is at LC also.
