We will be down the next couple years unless underclassmen step up. Just a testament to the program going from 1A to 2A & win a championship. Now playing for semi state and moving to 3A. Next week will be tough as Andrean is just another great program. I was surprised we upset them last year. They'll be gunning for us this time.

Lapel has an unbelievable QB who has thrown for a Gazillion yards in his career

one of those 2 teams await the winner of Andrean and Adams Central.

Brownstown’s defensive line dominated the game tonight. The fact that Linton was one tipped ball away from being down 8-0 at halftime with negative yardage is crazy to me. Then you have the tipped pass as time expires, a kickoff return for a touchdown, then a counter flea flicker on 3 consecutive plays. From an 8 point game to a 29-0 game in the blink of an eye. Then they recovered and onside kick that was somehow given to Linton. Brownstown has the line to win it all. The only downfall I saw on any game film was that they can give up a lot of passing yards if they do not get pressure on the QB. Good luck to whoever can stop that from happening 😆. Good Luck the rest of the year!

I'll take it! Going for a rare chance of 5 state appearances in a row was a far fetched fantasy when we lost all those semi states before 2000 and all those between then and 2021. That 2003 game still haunts me. When we look back in a few years, we will appreciate how great this era has been for Adams Central football. Heck Adams County football with SA in 2020 followed by AC 2021 through 2024. 2nd year in a row both AC & SA are playing in the semi state.

Andrean beat a very game Southmont team in a game that had a little of everything. 1) A blocked punt that went beyond the neutral zone, muffed by a member of the kicking team and recovered by the kickers for a 1st down, even though short of the line to gain; 2) snap over the shotgun QB’s head, muffed repeatedly by members of both teams and recovered in the end zone by the defense for a TD; 3) long kickoff return TD to open the 2nd half; 4) a long pick 6.

i was very impressed with the Southmont following. Their crowd was huge for a 2A school that traveled 100+ mi. to get here. Very enthusiastic. It would have been even better if they’d left home the half dozen or so jackwads who spent most their time profanely abusing the officials. FYI, I was there to observe and evaluate the officiating crew. And I can tell you they had a game that was worthy of the upper levels of the tournament.

Lots of people want to tell others how to do something that they can’t/won’t do themselves.

Selfishly I want Andrean,  get them to 3a, for next year, I think we will be pretty decent so yes, rather not deal with them again in sectionals, again selfishly 

Then my heart to Braves and Coach May who has been doing it so long, I've outlined our two communities, almost same plight we had in 2013 into 2014 so definitely would appreciate if they had the experience our staff got with our players in 2014.

Granted, Linton is a little banged up & they lack the depth of several past seasons, but they'll still have some darn good 2A players on the field.

Linton will be by far the best team BC has faced all season. The Miners on the other hand, have played at least two, maybe three teams better than BC. 

This one will likely be within the margin of error.  Anyone expecting a walk in the park for BC is kidding themselves. 

If by scoring 18 to BC’s 43, Linton stayed within the margin of error, I guess I stand corrected.

Not really worth taking a stand one way or another. I haven't seen a second of Andrean football this year, so any takes would be manufactured. I assume they're bigger than the Jets. That's about the end of what I know about this matchup. The Jets have proven to be resilient and have beaten some of the best teams in 2A to get here. Go Jets! Make history.

Brownstown vs. Lapel sounds like a fun matchup of contrasting styles. Should be a fun one.

From what very little I have seen, I think we should have the advantage in the trenches. That said, we need to get to that QB before he squirts out and makes plays. Same story on Offense I suppose, we should be good up front, but can we get some space down the field? Sounds like both teams have a lot of speed.

Heard that Lapel’s back 7 defensive guys are very, very good. Which is to be expected at this point in the tournament. 
 

They have any/many guys playing both ways?

One thing that gets often overlooked at this point is just the uniqueness of Brownstown's offense (and the level at which they can run it). There is absolutely NO WAY to replicate it in practice, and generally takes AT LEAST a few series to get your barring's about you on defense...and by that time, it could be 14-0, maybe 21-0. 

Give me the Braves and Coach May finally gets his trip to the State Finals.
