RegionFBFan Posted October 15, 2025 Posted October 15, 2025 I know nothing about Brownstown Central and this is not meant as disrespect but what is different this year vs last? BC offensive output and margin of victory are very similar to last years squad. Last year when they played against a running team that controls clock and a solid defense. They lost in a much lower scoring game than their usual outcomes. So I ask, what’s different this year? They seem the same. Are the potential opponents different? Linton style different? Quote
Coach Nowlin Posted October 15, 2025 Posted October 15, 2025 Another year older for skill players and overall team if they were led by underclassment? Quote
BtownBraves Posted October 15, 2025 Posted October 15, 2025 Their defense seems to be playing more lights out this year, even more so than last years team. I’m not sure we’ve yet seen what Brownstown’s offense is capable of putting up, especially since the JV is finishing out most games. Just my two cents 1 Quote

Last year they were primarily led by Juniors. I believe they have 19? seniors this year. Brownstown is well coached, they’re disciplined, they don’t turn the ball over, and they don’t make mistakes. I think the biggest difference this year is OL size and strength. They have a MAC commit and he’s not hard to find. 2 1 Quote

Baker64 Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 As a Brownstown alumni I appreciate all the support for Brownstown. Coach May definitely deserves a trip to Lucas Oil. As a parent of a freshman it has been fun watching this group play this year. The seniors have been great leaders and role models. I’m looking forward to the tournament and seeing what they can accomplish! 2 Quote

On that same note - it has been interesting to note the fluctuation of B-Town's enrollment - having once been pretty steady in 3A. Did a business or 2 shut down? Also impressive that they've (Brownstown) have been able to hold off soccer for so long... Quote

Soccer has just never really been a thing here. 1 Quote

I'm sure this will be attacked but a Brownstown administrator told me a couple years back they made an effort to cut enrollment to get back to 2A. Explained how and why they did it. Good for them. It has paid off in all sports. Quote

Limiting enrollment means less tax dollars- which is like cuss word to an Administrator (well- usually anyway). I’d bee interested to know what measures were taken to do so… Quote

It's very impressive. Really good athletes. It will take a very disciplined defense reading keys every single play just to be in the right spot to make a play, then you have to tackle their athletes that are pretty darn good. Their offense is fun to watch. Again you are right, not sure the defenses they have played have any discipline like an Adam Central or Eastbrook might have, but still going to be difficult to stop would be my guess. yea i went to the game vs scottsburg, i dont see how they can possibly beat Andrean or AC. GL to them though 1 Quote

GL to them though Well you did see our worst offensive performance of the year. Glad we could get that out of our system. The boys were off school all week for fall break and that always seems to do us no favor during week 9. Hats off to scottsburg, they played their butts off and were a 1 loss team ranked #8 in 3a. Last night was exactly what we needed to end the year. The varsity got to play an entire game and it was a hard hitting contest. Good luck to all teams in 2a starting this coming week!! Quote
kdets89 Posted October 18, 2025 Posted October 18, 2025 Wild finish in the Lapel/Eastern Hancock game last night. The last minute of the game is well worth the watch. E Hancock with the ball down 21-20, the final drive features one of the best catches of the year. E Hancock nearly pulled off the victory twice. The rematch would be in the sectional 38 semifinal. The EHSN team does a VERY good job with these games. Not sure if there are any students involved in this crew, but they do a great job every week! 1 Quote

Coach Adamson has his team clicking on all cylinders as they snapped Mississinewa's 30 game regular season winning streak. Look for Eastbrook to make a deep run and very possibly play Thanksgiving weekend. Eastbrook looks really really good right now. But the second round is Rochester who is just stomping people. They have a mean streak to them right now. Winner of this sectional runs into more than likely Adams Central. Dousy of a tournament in that part of the State. Quote

Been getting a bad rep about the conference being down this year, but the Zebras were just on a different level than the rest of the conference this year. Best scoring defense in Rochester history allowing just under 5 points per game. Will be pulling for all the TRC teams next Friday in the first round! Quote

In fact, I'm not sure there is another offense in Indiana that does what B-town does...which probably speaks to how dumb we all are and how brilliant Coach May is....the last offense I can remember running primarily the spinner series is Batesville back in the early 2000s?? Linton ran this offense in 2006 and part of 2007 with a lot of the same coaches on the current staff. Even if you can read your keys and stay disciplined, it is still difficult to figure it out. 1 Quote
Giantbeareagle80 Posted November 6, 2025 Posted November 6, 2025 Brownstown and Lapel (my Sleeper pick) out of the south. Eastbrook and Andrean out of the North. Brownstown vs Eastbrook for the championship Quote
