  1. It should have been left at 2 points to start with rather than the current 3 points. If you can move up a class and either win a Sectional two years in a row or a Regional one of two years then you are in the appropriate class…..insofar as the purpose of the SF was intended to be.

  3. Sheridan's turf work has begun. These pictures are from last Wednesday I believe. On Friday, I saw about 70% of grass completely gone. Also, the design for the completed turf.

  6. Brewer has proposed this rule before, and continues to propose it because Yorktown volleyball can’t win state in 4A. The entire reason for this is so their volleyball team can get moved back to 3A and win state again. Fortunately, it doesn’t look like the proposal is getting much support. Similar results to the polling occurred at other spring principals meetings. In my opinion, the point total to stay up was appropriate at 2 points per cycle. If your team is good enough to win 2 sectionals or 1 regional in a class above your enrollment, you are good enough to stay up. The change that was made for this year was not necessary in my opinion. It was proposed by Jeff Doyle from Barr-Reeve, who is an executive committee member, and was again motivated by a successful volleyball program. The position on the executive committee should be a good indication of how it got approved.

  7. If you’re driving past North Central to get to Warren, you’re doing it wrong. BD/Warren are slightly closer geographically than BD/North Central. Just busting your chops. I get your point.

  8. You would have to admit this is a false equivalency though correct? With the sheer size of rosters and number of rounds in the NFL draft compared to the NBA, its an apples to oranges comparison. I am not saying your statement is wrong, but how you are choosing to support your statement is. Just my two cents.

  9. Ahh I was not aware of that - I thought both had converted to the 21st century ! Are SR and VL the only schools on EASTERN time as well?? (That's honestly how they should determine sectionals...if you are on stupid....er I mean Central time - then you all get grouped together!)

  10. Really tough draw for them. I saw your and @BTF's exchange on the topic. Going to be a tough challenge for them to get ANY of those teams even on a down year. As BTF stated, not necessarily a slight to Harrison as much as it is a credit to the Indy suburb schools and how good they've gotten over the years. Nothing would be better for Indiana football, in my opinion, than if Harrison proves us wrong and can do what we're assuming (based on previous data) they will struggle to do.

  11. Agree. I was thinking a 28-14 type game on an off year. That's not a slight on Harrison by any means. It's more of a testament of how good Indy suburban schools have become over the last 15 years. I like my idea better of sticking two FW teams in Indy and two in SB. That would have pushed Harrison to the northwest. Crown Point is no slouch, but that sectional would have been easier with Penn being pushed to SB/FW.

  12. Sectional 32 was as presumed. Brutal. 5 (or maybe 6) of those 8 teams could simultaneously be in the top 10.

  18. 1. Didn’t say it was all athletic scholarship money. Academic scholarship money and forgivable grants are nice, too. 2. Indoor track is a thing in Indiana 3. Do some research into the cost of private HS tuition after the $7k state credit and other incentives. You will find that it is less than $6k/yr. If you choose the right school 4. Played a few years of 7v7 but that cost is nothing. No private trainers or coaches, no workshops, no paid recruiting consultants, 2 single day college camps (about $150 total). 5. Club VB is a killer (mostly due to hotels) but Title IX should make that a low risk investment in the future. (I offset 2/3 of that cost by coaching for the club) 6. Don’t make this an us vs them competition, dude. It’s possible to want every kid to succeed.

  20. It is with deep sadness and a heavy heart that I inform you of the death of Coach Spencer. Coach was inducted into the IFCA HOF in 2022. Former head coach of Tell City, Connersville, & Perry Central with assistant positions at Cannelton and Corydon Central. I had the honor of playing for Coach Spencer from '89-'92, where I learned the lesson of "Don't practice till you get it right, practice till you can't get it wrong" Thank you for everything Coach, you helped make me the man I have become. 22. I mean, looking at a map, it'd be hard to argue against those schools being in the same sectional, yeah? The splitting Indy like a pie, at least in 2A, 2 years ago was massively stupid.

  24. I think they did a good job with 6A North all things considered. Two sectionals comprise teams from the same general area. The other two are 3/1. Homestead is to Indy as Elkhart is to Fort Wayne. I'm not sure how they could have done it any better. Putting Harrison into Sectional 1 would have shifted another FW school to Indy. You would have two FW schools vs two Indy schools. Two SB schools vs two FW schools. From a fans perspective, that's what I was personally hoping for. But geographically, I can see why the IHSAA did what they did.

  25. The 6A "shift" is the oddest one to me....Harrison for Jeff, Snider for Warsaw, and everything else is basically status quo, this was apprently not what the IHSAA had in mind 5A makes sense to me as I fell IHSAA has always viewed Warsaw as "Fr Wayne adjacent" 😜

  27. We will see how things shake out. I think we will be solid with room to grow. Lots of new faces, with some 2 year starters sprinkled in. We have a nice schedule again to help us get ready.

  28. The split of Franklin and Whiteland in 5A south and placing Homestead with the 3 East Hamilton county schools are very odd for me.

  30. I missed the guy the beloved Bears took! He has a solid chance fo immediate PT. Montez Sweat is the only Edge the Bears have returning. I wasn't aware Steele entered the Draft. I'm surprised he didn't at least get a late round pick considering his size and strength as a short down back/receiver.

  31. No I agree it can't just be sheer numbers. The NFL has 257 draft picks and the NBA has 60 draft picks. 6 draft picks / 257 is about 2.3% and 1 draft pick / 60 is about 1.6%

  34. today i am going to introduce you all to the strategy that guides my betting, for educational purposes something tells me if you want entertainment to read quickly as usual if you take me seriously it is your own damn fault I call it the circle line dot NP strategy. first a few rules/suggestions 1. beware of special teams that break the system, such as EC the last two years. 2. high volume of small bets 3. look for fans of teams to bet against, not neutral people - for instance: it is a lot harder to get @temptation to take only 19 points for a random team he isn't affiliated with, then it would be for say the father of the quarterback of that team 4. you're going to be betting on a lot of potential blowouts, once you find your target fan, throw out arbitrary numbers that aren't as lopsided as they seem, and then double down until they are sick of your arrogance and their ego accepts your terms. ok now on to the meat of the betting strategy: bet on teams inside of the circle of victory bet on teams south of the line of dominance bet on teams at the dots of success (if you think your team should be on the other side of the line or inside the dots it probably should, i did this on a track pad leave me alone) and last but not least "NP" the notable privates you know who they are, dont be afraid to put your faith on memorial, or andrean, vs some of the less notable schools under the line, but be weary of the circle finally: don't play yourself, if you lose betting on ips schools its on you not the system

  36. Apparently there will be underground parking. Of course it will be limited and make tailgating impossible. I had suite tickets 2 years ago for the Lions game that came with an underground spot north of the stadium between Soldier Field and the Field Museum. It sucked. Felt like I was going to a mall and not a sporting event.

  40. Can you please provide details about this low cost HS education? Also besides tuition have you also payed for travel teams, workshops, camps, personal coaches/training, etc. for your two children in your quest for an athletic scholarship? And what colleges/universities that cost $250k for A 4-year degree are offering your children athletic scholarships?

Both will get to play college sports on someone else's dime. $500k worth of free college education for my kids for just a few years of high value, low cost HS education. I’m like the Warren Buffet of choosing High Schools. I’m done with this subject. You clowns bore me.

  43. I say this was the inevitable result of the NCAA’s stupid policies over the years — which have been replaced by NIL & the transfer portal. This is like a state legalizing cannabis. Do you let the people out of jail who broke the law when it was illegal? Do you automatically expunge their convictions?

  45. Did his apology truly feel sincere to you?? Also, even if sincere, is an apology enough? Does it wipe the slate clean? I think with Mr. Doyel, its bigger because of his track record. He goes at others for a variety of social issues without reservation. He's been brutal to others and as such, is not a fan favorite. Had his methods been different with his treatment of people, perhaps response to his 2 gaffe's last week would have been different as well.

  46. I am still waiting on Doyel's apology/retraction article for claiming fans at the Indianapolis 500 would be the most irresponsible thing ever, that there is no way that college football could be played safely in 2020, that JJ McCarty was unworthy of anyone's Heisman vote and that Carson Wentz was the most selfish person on the planet. Dude is a fraud. But he is protected because he is a southpaw. A righty would have already been fired.

  47. I actually heard that, upon the announcement that Faith Christian was going to go to 11-man this season, some 20-25 players from the LCC football team became Baptists and will be attending Faith in the fall. Lord, I apologize for that there.
