Be careful in here my friends: I will not condone school/coach bashing Rivalries are great, commentary on why you do not root for a school and why you root for a school is understandable I do not want to see this turn into a mud slinging thread directed at schools/coaches/players3 points

I don't wear cufflinks, but I have a pair that were passed to me by my dad and I believe that they were passed to him from his dad. I know that we weren't rich growing up ... I didn't realize that chuck steak wasn't a fancy cut of meat until I went off to college. My dad just made it taste great with this "wine sauce" that he used to make it with. I thought that certainly you didn't waste wine cooking a cheap cut of meat ... until I realized that the wine came in a gallon jug with a screw top. As for shooting shotguns in the air, I recall one New Year's eve we were over at a neighbor's celebrating. My dad had a glass of scotch, and had put it down on the stoop to help us light some fireworks as midnight struck. Along with the fireworks, you could hear gunfire too. My dad picked up his glass, took a sip, and noticed buckshot in the bottom of his glass. I'd contend that Average Joe's are more likely to fire shotguns in the air ... it's the elite conservatives that tend to just shoot their hunting buddies in the face. 😄2 points

If you attend an IFCA region meeting where they name the Region All-star team, you will be convinced there are only 4 classes.2 points

Me either, ever since they allowed face mask and the forward pass, the game has just went downhill... I honestly don't know why anyone still plays or watches it , I am sure it is just a few seasons away from totally being a forgotten sport.1 point

Dr. Rob Bell a local sports psychologist has written a book about how to deal with kids in today's ultra competive tavel, AAU and 7x7 world. It is called, "Don't Should on your KIds". I read it trying to figure out how to motivate a player, and came away with so much more. I'd highly suggest it for all sports parents and coaches.1 point

Yep, I would bet a few bucks on that one. Look no further than Sectional 27 in basketball....1 point

I know it’s a dream but SIAC teams and the PAC teams should figure out a way to play at beginning of the year. Could you imagine what Reitz Bowl would look like on a Friday and Saturday with top teams from each conference playing? Passionate fan bases that just enjoy football and friendship.1 point

Perhaps, with most coaches it depends on who you talk to. My guess is the Warren admin during that time period might get lower marks on a community survey...but that is just a guess.1 point

I sat behind the Brownsburg head coach during one of the games at Lucas Oil. The guy was the epitome of class to all around.1 point

Let me throw out this angle: is there possibly something going on at the school, that none of us experts on this forum know about, that was bad enough that it lead to the axing of the AD and the 2 coaches? And was this school board elected in to fix that problem? Before someone crucifies me, all I'm doing is giving you all something to think about from a neutral party. Success in athletics doesn't always paint the picture of what is truly going on behind the scenes.1 point

Tippecanoe School Corporation (McCutcheon H.S. & Lafayette Harrison H.S.) was one of (if not) the first school corporation in the country to drug test in the 1990's.1 point

The soon to be sophomore at GIbson Southern is Brady Allen. Already holds 4 D1 offers and has visited numerous colleges Gibson Southern returns a lot of the offense including 3 good WRs and a RB who is emerging as both a ball carrier and pass catcher. I’m not entirely sure about the 2020 and 2021 seasons in terms of talent at the other positions but this 2019 season should be a very well oiled machine on offense. Might be a special year with how much talent is on the offense.1 point

It’s amazing anyone in the PAC has ever beaten an SIAC team with those horrid schedules. Oh well, looks like only one more year of that. What will you guys have to bloviate about then? 😂1 point

Either Chatard or Tri-West. Based on the distain the IHSAA has for the P&Ps...my guess is this would be a great opportunity to get Chatard back in the same sectional with Brebeuf and Guerin.1 point

WInter Hoosier Conference love 3a Girls state title will go to a Hoosier team, Northwestern squares off with Benton Central, who somehow was sent SOUTH, but they, so was Tipton in Football, so who knows these days!! Congrats to both schools on making it to the big show. Wrestling State finals just finished: I believe the best finisher for the Hoosier was K.J. Roudenbush for Tipton, finishing 3rd in his weight class. Joey Kidwell was top 8 as well Eli Hickman was dealt a tough draw from Rensselaer as he got 2 time state champ and IU bound Asa Garcia from Avon, pretty good grappler there!! So he was out 1st round on Friday I know Western had a few qualified as well.1 point

There shouldn't be an excuse to miss this, but believe me it is missed often...and I'll caveat that most RPO teams are not in violation. However...comma....As an official, you should be watching the OT to the offset back for an RPO team. If we mention it in pregame meeting with officials it is something we see violated blatantly and often on film. Its usually one specific player as well. Some teams teach that kid to engage the LB immediately from the snap, so they can complete the route on that side. Officials need to get better at this. If he's combo'ing up to LB, fine....if he never engages LB, fine.....but if he's up on the LB before the catch, do your job and call it. Hopefully this point of emphasis helps. You don't have to watch the whole line for the violation...it almost always the OT to the offset back. :end rant Hugs and kisses Agree....the OG wrapping is not the issue on RPO....it the readside OT that takes a B-Line to the LB...no combo...nothing.1 point

National Debt Hits a New Record High: $22 Trillion: http://reason.com/blog/2019/02/13/national-debt-hits-22-trillion Hitting the $22 trillion threshold is just one step towards that future debt crisis, but it will take a long time to reverse these trends. The time to start is now, while the economy is still growing—because another recession will only make these problems more intractable. Unfortunately, there's little reason to expect Congress or the current president to take meaningful steps to defuse the long-term debt crisis before we hit the next milestone along the road—which won't take long at the rate we're going. A sorry future awaits America.-1 points

If We Can't Cut Entitlements, What Can We Do?: http://reason.com/archives/2019/02/19/if-we-cant-cut-entitlements-wh Agreed. The goals should be to cut the size, scope, and spending of the federal government by at least 25%. Eliminating unconstitutional cabinet-level agencies like Agriculture, Commerce, and Energy is a good start.-1 points
