In defense of the process last time, I'm pretty confident that a long term solution was the goal. Coach Lowery was hired with that in mind, and I believe he felt the same way. 2020 has been a tough year on everyone for a lot of different reasons, and I take Coach Lowery at his word. This was a family decision for him and his family. There is no ill will from this Slicer fan or anyone else I've talked to. Disappointed? Of course. There are good people here and good players in the system. Over the past few years we have developed one of the largest and best performing youth programs in NW Indiana. I truly believe that the next coach here will have plenty of good things to work with. I believe Coach Lowery felt the same way. Circumstances just change sometimes.3 points

https://www.legacy.com/obituaries/name/charles-stanier-obituary?pid=197567019 Gary legend and Hall of Famer Passed away. Charlie Stanier, all state football player at Gary Horace Mann and then legendary coach at Valparaiso High School during the state championship in 1975 passed away recently. May he rest in peace. Charlie, a giant of a man, as a coach, teacher, and human being, was a legend in the Region. All of you who remember him know of what I speak.3 points

For the record, Chip Pettit was 72-51 in 11 season with CP, taking over a program that was 0-10 in the year 2000. CP had back-to-back undefeated DAC title in 2005 and 2006. In Chip's final season, CP was 9-4 and won the sectional championship. Coach Chip was very, very good.2 points

Yup. Agreed. If Chatard is trying to recruit kids from Team Indiana (whatever that scam is....outside of probably just another gimmick to separate gullible parents from their money for their “D1 prospect” kids) then they’ve obviously done a poor job since 78 kids out of an 80 man Chatard Varsity/JV roster are CYO kids. One would think that with a State leading 15 State Championships, Chatard would have more than 2 kids (one of those being a move-in from out of town) out of an 80 man roster that wasn’t a CYO kid. As to Ritter, unfortunately any “wounds” to the Ritter program caused by kids not choosing to play football there were entirely self-inflicted if I am to believe everything my Ritter friends have been telling me for the last several years. Kids (and parents) weren’t being wooed away - they were fleeing. Give us some time........2 points

Have you ever inquired about or participated in D1 training or training at Finch Creek? The camp is hosted at the D1 Training facility who's owner, Tayt Odom, is an assistant coach at Chatard. That might be how you ended up on the e-mail list. I hope you send your young one to the camp, sounds like a great opportunity to get some high-level coaching! Plus, you can get some first hand knowledge of Chatard's recruiting. Let me know the make and model of your car and I'll pass along to the Chatard coaches to make sure the envelope of cash gets to the right place! They had to stop using McDonalds bags after the Tennessee fiasco.2 points

Is this an airport? Bus or train station? I never understand the mindset of people wanting to announce their departures from social media sites....lol For a guy that hates what he calls the "bro culture" or the "look at me" type athletes; creating a "look at me" topic is not only funny, but ironic.2 points

I think what he is trying to say (and I could be wrong) is that folks (whomever that may be in his mind) in central Indiana have a shorter leash when it comes to losing coaches/programs. What he really SHOULD be saying is that Noblesville has such a steep hill to climb that they could improve and few would notice and they would still finish in the bottom half of the HCC, therefore we need to give the new coaching staff time. Pre Sharpe: Blown out by all Year 1-2 of Sharpe: lose competitively Year 3 of Sharpe: upset a couple teams you shouldn’t Years 4+: compete with the top of the conference My opinion solely. I don’t think you can fairly asses a coaching staff in less than 4 years at the high school level.1 point

Noblesville knew what they were getting. 1-9 is irrelevant. 2020 was his 1st year.1 point

I have stated this a few times since last summer, but with how interrupted the global pandemic had in this state, the verdicts need to be held out for any and all the 1st year HC at new schools. They were up against it, trying to get their system in place via Zoom calls, is not ideal, they were behind the preverbial 8 ball and for some schools still are. Give Coach Sharpe some time with his system requires time and patience to get the timing down to run the Straight T, assuming that is what he is doing.1 point

I believe WW and CC will play Week 8. The other game just have not been added to Harrell's site. Either the Coach or the AD has to email Mr. Harrell to update the schedule.1 point

Yeah, so what? Private corporations have engaged in that since their inception. And you forgot our federal government, whose boots you lick on a daily basis, is one of the world's biggest instigators of espionage.1 point

So gathering information on union formation and activities is now "union busting". Got it. Kudos to Mr. Bezos. Any capitalist CEO worth his salt would do the same.1 point

Evan Cottle was announced as the new Covenant Christian head football coach last night. Position was not posted on IFCA, I don't believe.1 point

Word is that Kelly targeted him as soon as there was a whiff that Lea might leave for the Vandy job. Might be the best hire of Kelly’s era. That or Harry Hiestand.1 point

Which Teachings of Critical Race Theory Does the Biden Administration Endorse? https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/which-teachings-of-critical-race-theory-does-the-biden-administration-endorse/?utm_source=recirc-desktop&utm_medium=homepage&utm_campaign=right-rail&utm_content=corner&utm_term=first Trump’s order was motivated by revelations that federal entities, such as Argonne National Laboratories and the Smithsonian Institution, were teaching exactly some of the divisive concepts listed above. It is those concepts — not the simple lessons about tolerance and respect for others that most people have in mind when they think of diversity training — that Trump banned. Indeed, his order declared that “training employees to create an inclusive workplace is appropriate and beneficial,” and it explicitly allowed diversity programs to continue as long as they did not engage in race- or sex-based stereotyping or scapegoating. By falsely characterizing Trump’s executive order as a ban on diversity training, Biden has sidestepped the actual issue here — namely, whether the divisive concepts listed above should be taught as facts to federal employees and contractors. For example, is it the official position of the Biden administration that “an individual’s moral character is necessarily determined by his or her race or sex”? How about the claim that “any individual should feel discomfort, guilt, anguish, or any other form of psychological distress on account of his or her race or sex”? It would be helpful if the new administration could tell us which of these teachings it endorses. Surely it must endorse some of them, or it would not have rescinded the order in the first place. In fact, rescinding the order rather than simply modifying it suggests that the administration endorses (or at least does not object to) every divisive concept on that list.1 point

Sorry you feel that way In nowhere in you posts did it show any promotion of Indiana HS Football. You do you though. always have, and for the record, I simply asked to refrain from comparing school based on how many black athletes they have. If that makes me a snowflake, so be it, but I felt it was the correct call for where that rabbit hole was going. For the record, there was no threat of banning, or anything such. A simple request was made by me, but go ahead create your standard Martyr complex, its your go to playbook.1 point

Unbiased, impartial links please to support your claim that all the D.C. Rioters were all out to murder elected officials. Are you endorsing the INDISCRIMINATE LOOTING, PILLAGING, AND DESTRUCTION OF PRIVATE PROPERTY?1 point

I was never offered the position. I was asked to be on the interview committee and I declined. My exact quote was "You guys did a pretty good job last time around. Find us another Dave Sharpe!"1 point

And my comment really was directed to things that have more to do with the situation at NHHS than just on the field. As far as the roster goes, we were outweighed across the line every week, except in one position. Athletes? Our DB's were an average of 5'8". Undisciplined??? @Yuccaguy has some thoughts along with me on that one, being that we are the only urban program in the conference. We struggle to finish at the top every year??? You mean outside of the year we were a conference champ??? lol...again, what exactly are your credentials?1 point

Since I have kid that played against Noblesville a few months ago I am confident saying without question the worst offensive system I have seen since the 80's...not sure if the coach is as horrible as I think or they simply don't have the athletes, but the majority of the game they lined up with zero wide receivers and on occasion split one kid out and actually tried to throw to him. I think one big poster here has honked the Noblesville coach and a big turnaround but sorry he needs to hire a new O coordinator or get out of the passing happy HCC......they were down 28 and still ground and pound....horrible!!!0 points
