I actually review real studies Muda...not just accept the opinion of one individual. In the scene you painted originally, it is really hard to see things like specific tackling form in the moment, when it happens in a crowd at the goal line. However, if I am able to see it, I am going to congratulate the player on making the play and simultaneously remind him how lucky he is to not have been hurt on the play. It is our job to be able to do both of those things. Proper tackling technique is paramount in our attempt to make football as safe as possible. Football is not a "safe" sport, and it is up to us as coaches to teach techniques that can help to mitigate the risks associated with playing it.

It wasn’t feasible to continue being successful as the “little guy” unless you’re going to go all-out and invest in the team like Gonzaga does. Not sure why Butler doesn’t. However, by joining the Big East, Butler makes a lot more money than they did when they were in the Atlantic 10 and Horizon League before it. So that’s a positive. If you haven’t been on campus in 10-15 years, you’d definitely see the benefit of all that Final Four and Big East money. As for “Big East bottom feeder”, nothing could be further from the truth. Of the ten teams that have been part of the conference since its rebirth in 2013-2014, Butler is #6 in wins. They’re ahead of Marquette, St. John’s, Georgetown, and DePaul and slightly behind Seton Hall. Throw in NCAA Tournament appearances and Butler is tied for fourth with Creighton and Seton Hall at four appearances each. Only Villanova (7), Xavier (5), and Providence (5) are higher. That also includes UConn who only has three appearances in that time despite being in the much easier AAC for most of it. Also, it was just two years ago when Butler was ranked in the top 5. Of course, COVID’s role in the cancellation of the NCAA Tournament that year kept us from seeing how far Butler would advance.

Spotify reportedly paid more than $100 million to be the exclusive home of Rogan’s show. Young, meanwhile, stands to lose 60% of his streaming income from his defiant stance, he said in a statement on his website. “We want all the world’s music and audio content to be available to Spotify users,” a spokesperson for the company told the Wall Street Journal. “With that comes great responsibility in balancing both safety for listeners and freedom for creators.” Since the start of the pandemic, the spokesman noted, Spotify has removed more than 20,000 COVID-related podcast episodes. Still, Young’s protests were not sufficient for it to drop its lucrative star talker. “We regret Neil’s decision to remove his music from Spotify, but hope to welcome him back soon,” the spokesperson added. Good for Carroll. HSE, Merrillville, and Fishers all provide a competitive matchup with programs of equal caliber, but from different areas of the state. I'd love to see them land one of those schools along with either GC or Warren. The latter two schools give the Chargers an opportunity to see size and speed not likely to be seen from their SAC counterparts.

Blitz is hearing some things re: matchups. Look for Northrop to lock in Goshen and New Haven. Carroll is going big. Like BIG. Center Grove, Warren, HSE and Merrillville all on the table. Perhaps even Fishers. Obviously only two per year but the Chargers want to take advantage of the opportunity to schedule up.

Tough to pick in the Hoosier Conf - so many great programs. 1. LCC - great tradition and support. Winning culture, college town and always tough. 1A - West Laf - many reasons as above, such close ties with Purdue makes it a really cool place to play. 2 - Rennsy Bombers - really tough nosed kids, great program, well coached, great fans and culture. Also Wagonmasters after all home games....

If receivers are going to drop the ball, why teach how to catch? If linemen miss blocks, why teach blocking? If QB's are going to miss throws or throw picks, why teach passing? if running backs are going to fumble, why teach ball handling? Sorry, could not resist. 🙂
