Ben Davis and Carmel renew their rivalry again on Friday night at 7:00 pm from Giant Stadium. The Greyhounds lead the series, 25-24 after winning the last two games in the series to take their first lead since 1995. The series has been tied eight different times since then. Floyd Central is looking for its first HHC title in 20 years and its sixth overall. BNL is looking to win back-to-back HHC titles for the third time ever as well as its first outright HHC title since 1995. It would be their eighth HHC title overall. Considering Floyd Central’s remaining HHC games are Jennings County and New Albany, and BNL’s remaining HHC game is Columbus East, I’m pretty confident that the winner of Friday night’s game will go unbeaten in the HHC and be the outright champion.

Our offense lost the starting QB and RB after the Mater Dei game, so there has been questions on the offense (Not a terrible start so far with QB2 and RB2). And of course a pretty young OL against one of the best DL in 4A. Unless more injuries popped after the Bosse game, but I didn’t see anything too particularly bad injury wise. Reitz has definitely figured some of their early mishaps now, you have to score points and play defense if you want to beat them.

Tall task to compete with a top tier SIAC opponent without a starting QB & RB and only 1 senior on the OL... Up to this point this team has definitely exceeded expectations, but this week is a tough challenge.

Ok its week seven playoffs are just round the corner and this squirrel can't wait for October bridge fest, conference championship and the playoffs in IHSAA start. This time of season is truly magical for all WRC football players and I hope all the seniors across the conference soak it all in. However the squirrel still has a job and my week 7 picks are in. Attica @ RP- The panthers have played the meat of their schedule and over the next 3 weeks they should take the chance to win some games and get some momentum going into the sectional of death. Attica has to wait til next year good try ramblers give me RP 52-12 Cov @ Seeger- The Patriots won a thriller last week and next week will play for a conference championship, Covington surprised me last week with a surprising defensive battle against the woofs. My problem for the trojans is their inconsistency against the good teams but this week they give the patriots a battle but Seeger prevails 34-20. FC @ SV- Game of the week with conference implication the mustangs lost a heartbreaker but herb you can never count out. The SV line is what I believe will win them the game because FC looks a little soft upfront give me the wildcats 45-16. PH @ NV- PH lost a game they should've won and NV is rolling after an honorary bye week and I believe they are the better team. Does an NV lineman get another pick six against the woofs this year my guess would be the Hinchee kid. The Falcons are to explosive for the woofs weak defense the Falcons win at Gibson 58-12.

Northwood has some dudes. But I wonder if all the showing off they do is a distraction from actually playing football. From all of the posting on social media, to pointing the first down after every one of them, and then the hanging mouth piece from your WR. Most coaches wouldn't allow this to go on if you are losing games and I wonder how much control the coaches at Northwood have. Does the tail wag the dog? Mishawaka is the best team I have seen in the NLC. Their QB is the best player in the conference. We need to beat Goshen this Friday to continue on our overall improvement.

I cannot remember the last time Bosse was favored against Mater Dei. However, looking at the line, Bosse - 7, I am not certain that is enough pts. Their D is pretty good but MD STRUGGLES to move the ball, with little speed and inconsistent rhythm in their passing attack. If MD can run the ball and set up more favorable down & distance situations for the passing game, they have a chance. Wow, I cannot believe I just wrote that: "If MD does....it has a chance....against Bosse..." This is the most difficult season in recent memory for MD.
