This Cathedral alum and fan wishes to thank Bishop Chatard for building a first class football facility and allowing the Irish to use it for a night. It's a long way to the top of the home side, which we've never had the pleasure of using, but this 80 year old made it to the top, and more importantly made it down after the game. It was a great view from up there and I'm hoping something can be worked out to have us back as the home team. Also, it helped that it was one of the best night's weatherwise all season, with a beautiful Hunter's moon!😊

As usual, it will be the school and the players that pay the price, while Coach Harbaugh saunters off to the NFL unscathed. Pete Carroll did the same thing at USC a few years ago. USC, of which I'm no fan, suffered long after Pete left for greener pastures!

Now this is a case where the judicious use of NIL could really make a difference. Safety is among the lowest paid positions in the NFL. A sweet NIL deal could induce him to stay another year.

There aren’t very many times that I want to see a non-competitive, blowout type of game, but this is one that I do. Can’t stand what North Side is doing and the complete lack of discipline and respect that they have shown, both to other teams and officials. Snider is really good about not running up the score, but I hope that for one week, they forget that and pound them

This could end up being a track meet. Both have high scoring offenses and weaknesses defensively.

Ever since they went to 32 teams I have felt they should do away with sectionals and just do regionals. One let’s face it ishaa is not going away from blind draw like it or not I do not see them changing. So this would be a way to help at least in my mind. Like BD and brownburg this year u have a 1 in 3 chance they would play first game. If you go to 8 team regionals, that goes to 1 in 7. Not saying it would not happen but the odds are better. Two they do not have to reinvent the wheel they regionals are already set so no more work for them. Three it would safe the ishaa money 8 less trophies they would have to buy. Like said my opinion and we all how opinion’s on here go. Lol

All 32 teams in each class still get in. There are four regionals from eight sectionals. The suggestion is to conduct the blind draw within each of the four regions. Pretty good suggestion, and I don't think I've seen anyone propose this before.

I am with you on this, several years ago I think it was Casey Kolkman who was the head coach and there was mutual respect between the programs and some great games. Recently, the sham show going on has ruined it. It starts with coaching. I know there are many officials on this site that could add to how bad it really is when they do their games, but they have refrained from doing so. Kudos to them

I just have to be honest because there’s two things you can almost count on with Bloomington South every year and both are negative. 1. They’ll amass a lot of penalties. 2. They’ll fall apart in the postseason at some point (whether they’re favored or not) and it’ll keep them from getting to Lucas Oil Stadium.

Alot has changed since the redistricting in monroe county. In the 1990s you could expect a long tourney run from bhss and they did just that 7 regional titles I believe. But take away those old bhss communities and student body sending them to bhsn has weakend the program. I have the same mentality as you now . Sort of I'll believe it when I see it.

If he doesn’t get a foot down, it’s incomplete. The only exception is if the defensive player actually carries the receiver out of bounds, so that his progress was clearly stopped in the field of play.

I’m a soft, north side private school kid from Indy, and I felt perfectly safe at this game. I never once felt that I needed a bulletproof vest. I sat right next to the student section. All that I saw was a lot of passionate football fans having fun in the stands. It was awesome. 10/10 experience. Edited for brevity.

Addressed this in another thread, but there are many teams that do this self-damaging technique of abandoning what's working during a game. In some cases, it comes from nothing more than being creatures of habit. The game plan says pass and, despite the fact that the running game seems to be working well, we're going to stick with the plan and throw the ball because the plan says to throw the ball anytime we get close to midfield. Sometimes it's just wanting to rub someone's nose in it and the quickest way is often going to the air. Sometimes it's trying to end the game early or at least take the other team's fight out of them. To some extent, that can be understandable as, if you can get the opponent in the locker room at half arguing about who's sitting next to the window, then the second half is a lot easier. Sometimes it's impatience and worry from the leading team that they might be the victims of a quick strike and all of a sudden be in a dogfight. Loved watching Harrison last night take what worked and forcing the other team out of their zone. Harrison went into the half with a last second field goal to be up 25-13 and getting the ball to start the second half. By the time they got to the end of the first half, it was clear that they were able to ground and pound as well as exploit the edges. They came out at the half and drove the ball 85+ yards with the vast majority on the ground and ate up the first 5 minutes of the second half. Rather than going for the coup de grace and a quick score, they stuck with what was working and what worked perfectly against Plainfield's offense ... keeping them off of the field and forcing them into a situation of having to go to the air a lot. With Plainfield's 87.5 QB rating for the season and an average of one passing TD a game, Harrison's stuck with the running game that was working for them and, more importantly, just strangled the clock. They then took the ball from Plainfield and, on their second possession of the half, killed the entire rest of the 3rd quarter on the ground and ate another three minutes on top of that in the 4th and put up another score. Wasn't sure if the wind sound was the rain coming in or the air going out of Plainfield, but in just two possessions, and by the time Plainfield touched the ball for the second time that half, there were only 8 1/2 minutes left in that game and Harrison now had a 39-13 lead. The rain then came in and made it even more problematic for Plainfield as they just weren't built to come from behind, especially with a passing game, and Harrison did a great job of not helping them at all by sticking with what was working.

I saw it. Mind blowing. Threw it to Zackery’s side of the field too…he’s being recruited to the next level as a DB… BD had one timeout too..so worst case scenario (the INT was thrown on 2nd down), even two runs that don’t get you a first down and you punt with just under 8 to go up 18 and make BD drive the ball THREE times. How about when playing four quarters you continue to do the things that worked for you in the first three?

As stated above, OSU was apparently aware of Michigan’s “antics” after the 2021 game and had a year to do something about it. Then realized at halftime in 2022 that Michigan was on to them again…and got blasted in the second half. An indictment of Ryan Day as a coach. That’s what this is all about. You’re still here? I don’t trust Bloomington South in the postseason. In the last nine years, they’ve lost several games in the regional that they were favored to win. Castle upset them in 2015 and last year. New Albany upset them in 2021. Until I see something different, I can’t pick Bloomington South.
