  1. Northwood went to state in 2016 and went 11-1 in 2018. Concord has won sectionals 2 of the last 3 years. Northridge went 11-3 in 2014. Went 9-1 in 2017. Plymouth went 11-1, in 14, 10-3 in 15, 9-3 last year. Carry on, talking about crap you don't know.

  2. I think it’s more than just a missed opportunity to get someone who can help now. There’s also the prospect of Mr. Sensitive getting butt-hurt over this and sulking, as he is wont to do from time to time.

  5. The drug ranitidine does not cause cancer. Small amounts of NDMA, an impurity, was found, and testing determined that, as the medication ages in storage, the amount of NDMA can increase, depending on the conditions under which it is stored. NDMA is a probable human carcinogen ... in high doses. Hence, the recall. This was a flaw in the manufacturing process, not in the evaluation of the drug.

  6. The questions I have are 1. Was there someone available that could help the team NOW? 2. Would Love have been around for the 2nd round pick? My thinking is the answer to both is yes. Based on the pick, there is something I wondered most of last season. The message is clear in my mind to Rodgers. You signed your last contract with this team. You won't be pushed out the door; you will play out this contract, but that is it. There were a couple games early last season that made me wonder if LaFleur and Rodgers were ever really on the same page. There were a couple of moments in multiple games with the offense coming off the field; the look on both of their faces was just odd. LaFleur looked pissed, and A A Ron looked bored; had that Cutler face....Bears fans know what I mean. 😄 I remember thinking then this is not going to end well. Aaron was able to get rid of one coach; he is at the point in his career that it will NOT happen again. So, that leads me to wonder just how motivated will Aaron be this season, or even next.

  7. Considering how Rogers was treated when he first went to the Packers, I'd say he wants to get some kind of "payback". Not defending him, cuz I could care less about the Packers and especially Rogers and his big ego. They could have used the pick for help at WR before another QB. Not too bright of a move.

  8. Ya got me, I have long suffered from being introverted, shy, lacking confidence, and being the last kid picked when teams were chosen, I blame my parents for not being able to afford for me to be in Boy Scouts.

  11. Check out Coach Ralph's Twitter account and you have your answer. They buy-in that he has from the kids in the weight room is incredible. Watch his "Inside the Headset" series and you will find that he and his staff are on an entirely different level when it comes to Xs and Os as well as having answers for the "if they do this, we will do this." He respectfully dissects how teams try to play against him in big time championship games, and makes it sound like the other team does not have a clue. Plus, the New Palestine area as a whole is completely invested in the program. Look no further than the community members reaction to the fake news article a few weeks back.

  14. Hard to say. At a minimum it would be a scramble. The schools would probably start with the 4-5 crews they hired for the Fall and keep them assigned to the same games if they are available. Some guys may have conflicts in the Spring, but I have no idea how to predict that. The same could happen if they shorten the regular season in the Fall which would result in schedule changes. One other possibility though is we always see an increase in new official when in tougher financial times. This would definitely quality. If you are looking to pick up some extra cash to help pay bills, officiating can be a decent side hustle.

  17. At the expense of the bodies of those underclassmen going through essentially two seasons in 9 months? Comparing it to this off season being shortened isn't applicable when you consider the total recovery time from last year to this year is still roughly the same, kids just can't be involved in "traditional" off-season conditioning. Look, at the end of the day it's like Sophie's choice and I don't want to miss out on any time, but I would rather say let's postpone the start of the season to after labor day and cut a week or two off of the regular season to see if that gives us enough clearance for the powers that be rather than put the long term health of those underclassmen on the line. If they were to flip, I would want a schedule that is more along the lines of a 2 week "camp," a 5 week regular season, and then start the tournament. Then, in the fall of 2021, something very similar, but maybe a bit more extended, say perhaps a 7 week regular season. No, it's not full seasons. No, coaches aren't going to like it, but I mean, if we're going to think "outside the box" it needs to be a little more than "let's just flip the fall and spring sport seasons." Play a 9 week regular season, plus a tournament from March to May and then another 9 week regular season plus a tournament from late August to November? That's at least 20 games in 9 months, 30 in 10 if you advance very far in the tournament. That would have been a bit much for me in high school, and all I did was play football by the time I was an upperclassman. It's all a nightmare regardless...

  19. Soo your saying that you would rather have a class of seniors NEVER get the chance to play rather than have one year of shortened off-season. Also we are not getting much of an off season this year...

  21. I wouldn't get too worked up about this: the origins of this thread is from an IU fan who thinks he is the admin. We all know George is a stud and the newest member to the Den of Defensive Ends.

  22. And the no help comment doesn't make sense. Wouldn't that mean teams could put more focus on George? It's not like he has 2 or 3 NFL DL next to him that are taking up the focus of the O-Line. 2019 Purdue Roster: George Karlaftis, 6'4 265 2010 Purdue Roster: Ryan Kerrigan, 6'4 263 I like that comparison better than to a kid still playing HS football.

  24. It doesn't. You don't have to discuss it at all. You can just ignore any mention of Trump in the thread without telling other members what can and cannot be discussed. You know, same way you ignore any discussion about products your employer is involved in manufacturing. This isn't the meme thread, where each comment should be a meme. How many members adhere to that?

  34. French Doctor Didier Raoult Cites ‘Scientific Misconduct’ in Recent VA Study on Hydroxychloroquine; Two Major Flaws https://www.redstate.com/elizabeth-vaughn/2020/04/23/french-doctor-didier-raoult-cites-flaws-scientific-misconduct-in-recent-va-study-on-hydroxychloroquine/ The Veterans Health Administration released the results of a study on the efficacy of the drug hydroxychloroquine on patients being treated for COVID-19. The study was funded by grants from the National Institute of Health and the University of Virginia. Researchers found that not only did the drug show no benefit, it may have actually caused harm. Study results can be viewed in the medRxiv online depository. Researchers included data from 368 COVID-19 patients. 97 were treated with hydroxychloroquine, 113 were administered a combination of hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin and 158 received “standard supportive management” for COVID-19. Here’s what they found: The two primary outcomes analyzed in the study were death and the need for ventilation. About 28 percent who were given hydroxychloroquine plus usual care died, versus 11 percent of those getting routine care alone. About 22 percent of those getting the drug plus azithromycin died too, but the difference between that group and usual care was not considered large enough to rule out other factors that could have affected survival. Hydroxychloroquine made no difference in the need for a breathing machine, either. The researchers said, “In this study, we found no evidence that use of hydroxychloroquine, either with or without azithromycin, reduced the risk of mechanical ventilation in patients hospitalized with Covid-19. An association of increased overall mortality was identified in patients treated with hydroxychloroquine alone. These findings highlight the importance of awaiting the results of ongoing prospective, randomized, controlled studies before widespread adoption of these drugs.” Researchers did not track side effects but noted hints that hydroxychloroquine might have damaged other organs. The drug has long been known to have potentially serious side effects, including altering the heartbeat in a way that could lead to sudden death. This was not a peer-reviewed study. A spokeswoman for the Department of Veterans Affairs issued a statement by email to Fox News which read, “This was not a clinical trial. It is simply an analysis of retrospective data regarding hospitalized patients. The findings should not be viewed as definitive because the analysis doesn’t adjust for patients’ clinical status and showed that hydroxychloroquine alone was provided to VA’s sickest COVID-19 patients, many times as a last resort.” Sounds pretty grim considering the promising results we’ve seen from other studies. As you would expect, the mainstream media was thrilled with the bad news about the drug that President Trump has been touting. One of the studies that showed positive results was conducted by French Dr. Didier Raoult. His study included 1,061 patients who were treated with a combination of hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin and demonstrated 91% effectiveness with zero side effects. Upon hearing the surprising results of the VA study, Dr. Raoult reviewed their findings and discovered several glaring instances of “scientific misconduct.” Fox News’ Laura Ingraham reported on Raoult’s response on her program Wednesday night. Ingraham read about the first problem from Raoult’s response, “In the current period, it seems that passion dominates rigorous and balanced scientific analysis and may lead to scientific misconduct and this article [VA findings] is an absolutely spectacular example of this. The analysis of the data shows two major biases…Lymphopenia is twice as common in the HCQ groups as the non-HCQ group and there is an absolute correlation between lymphopenia and fatality rate, which is well known.” One of the major problems Raoult found was that the HQC and the HQC/Zpak were given after the patients had been intubated. "This is unreasonable at the time of the cytokine storm [after patient is critically ill], as it is unlikely that HCQ alone would be able to control patients at this stage of the disease.” The second problem: “Incomprehensibly, the ‘untreated group’ actually received azithromycin in 30% of cases, without this group being analyzed in any distinct way. Azithromycin is also a proposed treatment for COVID-19 (Gautret 2020) with in-vitro efficacy.” Well, then you can’t call these patients untreated. I suppose we won’t be seeing any media coverage of the serious problem Raoult discovered in the VA study. It looks as if the VA researchers had been trying to achieve a particular result.
