  1. Is it just me, or do those alignment make too much sense? I forgot we were talking IHSAA, so I guess it makes TOO much sense? Center Grove a southern school? Not to us. As we drive up I-69/ 37 (in non-construction times) we mark the Stones Crossing/37 intersection as the "hey, we've made it to Indy" point. LOL

  2. I've watched it. Absolutely disgusting. Things like this used to be common when no one understood CTE or Concussions... There is no place for this... Not anymore. The coaches should be removed. There is no place for this in Youth football. There are tackle wheels, dummies, blocking sleds, etc. that can work just as well rather than to get a kid (or kids) injured. Not only injured... But you are running kids out of the game doing drills like this.

  3. Then the coach turns away from the play as if to say "wow", instead of immediately checking to see if the kid is ok. Ignorance on full display.

  4. Mike Golic commented........no proper technique was taught. As a coach, every drill I run has to connect directly to something the guys will do in a game. It would be so rare that these two players would be in a situation that is simulated in a drill like this. Watching it made me sick to my stomach. I worry about the boy who was knocked down. It is one more kid who tried the game, and will likely never even try to play it again because of this.

  5. The coaches were clearly in the wrong but the blame ultimately lies with the league. A good league will insist on all coaches being certified by USA Football. A great league will also have somebody instructing and supervising coaches to be sure this never happens.

  6. They set this up to get the result they got. The coaches should be banned from the league.

  8. For most people I know once we are south of Big Ben road off of 37/69 we are in northern Kentucky so we are south of the state lol

  9. Pike/BD/Avon/Brownsburg should be the Sectional. Huge gates. It never should have changed, but Carmel had to go south and somewhere. Personally, I think they fit more with LN/LC/NC, but that leaves Warren without a spot. I mean, it could be Warren, Tech, Perry, and Southport...The whole IHSAA policy of keeping schools in the same district in the same Sectional locks in a few scenarios.

  10. I don't follow Oklahoma or the BIG 12 that closely, I don't see them or any team in that conference getting into the playoffs until they start playing some defense. It seems like OU lays an egg every year and loses a game they should win, and it's usually like 55-46 or48-42.....

  11. I am FULLY aware of the Andrean resume But just because they play a great schedule, that does not make it an automatic ticket punching to Indy, as I have shown you in class 2a as they are 0-4 to make it state in their tenure in 2a. They are going to be a tough out like always, and for the team I am associated with, that is the team we will hopefully meet again come week 12, maybe the 4th time in Sectional championship will be the charm!!

  12. I played against Pendleton and Coach Broughton 6 times and coached against him another 3. Definitely some of the toughest games I was a part of. Even when they did not have spectacular athletes, PHHS was always solid, never bad. Heck of a Coach and person.

  13. There is? Based on what exactly? According to the 2019-2020 count (which is the last accurate data count we have access to) Jeffersonville had an enrollment of 2,035 while Castle has an enrollment of 1,965. Are 70 students considered a BIG enrollment gap between schools?

  14. CP vs Andrean is a great addition to the Region football schedule. As DT pointed out, especially if the new school is built on the proposed site in CP. The new school is still not officially approved by the new Bishop. Work continues by Andrean leaders, but Bishop has not decided yet, very frustrating for many at Andrean. With the addition of CP, the first three games next season are going to be tough for a young, rebuilding Andrean team. They open with Merrillville, then CP, then travel to Michigan power Grand Rapids Central Catholic. Baptism by fire for many new starters. Offensively they have to replace 9 out of 11 starters, lose key players at WR, QB, RB and will start a sophomore QB behind a new offensive line. Offense will evolve and improve over the course of the season, but will be work in progress early. Defensively, this will be the strength of the team led by Bowen. Many starters and key players return. Good size and speed on defense. In terms of NCC, Andrean will be right in the mix as usual. Lowell likely will be the favorite, Hobart loses a lot of skill players and leadership, as do Highland and KV. I'd say NCC is wide open. State title run always one of their goals, but realistically this is a retooling year for them. Talent is there and they have been working hard in off season, but awfully young and inexperienced at Oline and QB.

  15. First the Cathedral guy wants to chime in on poverty and now he wants to play resident expert on conference affiliation/scheduling? Man, 2021 is just as wild as 2020 was...

  16. Does anyone think that the NIC is the best fit for Elkhart and Penn now? Maybe all the 6a DAC along with Elkhart, Penn, and Warsaw make a new conference. Then Marian, St. Joe, and Jimtown join the NLC. Glenn and New Prairie can go with their old NSC teams. Could be the best for everyone
