  1. I was always under the impression that science was questioning the nature of things. Apparently science is now defined as accepting anything from an “expert” without question.

  2. Hopefully, you’ll grow out of it. 🤣😂

  3. Why not? What if you've moved twice and both schools say the transfer was not due to athletic reasons? Just punish the kid because of where he wants to transfer? That is BS..

  4. What's great about football is there are so many ways to run a successful program...sure there are some constants...but there are also many variables. It's a wonderful sport.

  5. As always, we have our 'Whose Broadcasting Where' state-wide broadcast list on our website at http://www.broadcastsport.net. Just started assembling list this week and have 436 broadcasts listed so far. If your games aren't listed, please e-mail us your list or post it in this thread.

  6. Class of 2024 WR Mylan Graham (New Haven) went to the OSU camp without any offers and comes home with an offer from the Buckeyes. Athletic, fast receiver who trains with same athletic training organization as Austin Mack (Luers, OSU, NY Giants, SF 49ers) in AWP out of Fort Wayne.

  7. If only Rode had a younger sister who played volleyball. Then she could transfer without much notice. Once that was ok, then he could have transferred knowing that it couldn’t be denied. This is all hypothetical by the way.

  8. Had the same thought too, if this was his first transfer, then I wouldn’t see an issue

  9. I've witnessed it - several years ago, New Pal was hosting the sectional and Mt. Vernon (which had a new coach) and Shelbyville were slated to play. They go out for warmups w/warmup tops on. When they go to the captain's meeting, I notice both teams' captains are wearing white shorts. I look at my broadcast partner and say "this is going to be a problem." MV was supposed to be the visiting team and their coach mis-read the bracket (in his defense, for years, the team in the top of the bracket was the home team and it had recently been switched to the bottom bracket team being the home team) and brought the wrong uniforms. Because they couldn't delay the game for someone to drive to Fortville and bring the correct uniforms, New Palestine's old JV road uniforms were dug out of a storage room and MV had to wear those for the sectional game. I believe that happened again this year at a different sectional site. (In my basketball coaching days, we told our players to ALWAYS bring both uniforms to a tournament, even though the bracket clearly states which ones we're supposed to wear).

  11. Can’t switch schools every year and expect Ihsaa to approve it.

  12. I’d say a little bit of everything. IMO that’s been their mojo for recent successes. Pretty good at all styles of football. Makes for a difficult team to scout.

  13. The rules provide: “Each team shall provide at least one legal ball to the referee at the time the game officials assume authority for the contest. Only legal balls approved by the referee may be used during the contest. Each team may use any referee-approved ball of its choice to free kick or start a new series of downs.” If both teams show up with non-Wilson balls, we play the game and write it up to the IHSAA. But if one team has Wilson and the other does not, we’re playing with the Wilson footballs. Once a ball is approved by the referee, it becomes a game ball, not a team ball. The team loses any right to determine how and when the ball is used.

  14. Agreed, no doubt they (GS) are in a great spot. Success breeds success. Until last year, they really hadn't really brought much home...a couple regionals, and a sectional (or something like that). For the last 4 years, just couldn't make that hurdle of sectional until last year where it rolled all the way through LOS. However, with this huge success, in my opinion, GS is going to have many years of success. May even have that coveted opportunity to get their butts kicked by Chatard once or twice (if Chatard stays in 3A). DumfriesYMCA and Titan32, please see that has playful prodding, kind of....you have had the experience once, you will get it again. It is frustrating.....we are 1-7 against them (I think) and some of those games were horribly close. They are 1 of just a couple teams in the state that have a winning record against us. Bottom line is GS will be a steamroller for a while with no end in sight.....

  17. I don't think this is a possibility unless the school shows some growth in the next 10 years. Football was the reason they stayed in the HC for so long, but the other sports were suffering from being in the HC. They have competed much better in the Hoosier Heartland. The school that I see outgrowing the HHC is Eastern. They would be a better fit in the CIC or HC than Sheridan or maybe even Pioneer. Probably just a little too far away for some of the HC schools though.

  19. Really about the smallest number of seniors that I can recall in recent history is about 8. Next year's senor class will likely be a very small one maybe less than 8. Like has already been mentioned, it really hasn't mattered, at least historically speaking. When necessary, Clayton would move a 160 lb Junior to Guard and tell him to commit homicide and the kid would do just that. Things are different now, offense is different, it is much more complex now, pro set, flex bone, yadda yadda....I'm just a crusty old guy that says get your guys in the most ridiculous shape possible and pound the ball down the throat with the wishbone. We used to be conditioned to have 15 or so guys do it all, because we had to. But I'm dated and everything is different. That is not a shot at any person or system at HH, I love the staff, it is just different and some of us have a tendency to live in the past--so don't interpret any of that as some kind of slam. Speaking of past, I know a grad from HH 30 years ago that went into the Marine Corps and said that boot camp was a joke next to Clayton's practices. That is NOT a shot at the Marines, so please don't go down that road. With that said, I'm confident that Bob wouldn't be able to coach today in the current culture...it is a different time. When you talk about team chemistry being in the DNA, it unfortunately isn't. We need our swagger back, I'm hoping that comes back soon. Many on this forum have no idea what HH football was 2 decades ago, that swagger just ain't there--but again, I'm hopeful that it will return. Personally, in the last 35 years, I have not seen ANY high school football team with the attitude of the late 80s - late 2000s Patriots, and may never again.

  20. Late 80's/early 90's you could watch about 3-4 college football games on TV every weekend in the midwest. Michigan, like Notre Dame was guaranteed to be on each week. Notre Dame bored me. Michigan had superior helmets/uniforms, a superior fight song, a superior stadium and Desmond Howard made one of the greatest catches in college football history that particular fall afternoon.

  21. Sure. Their track record would indicate that. Numbers do matter, however. If they did not, then there wouldn't be a need for class sports, especially football.

  25. Nope but you seem to miss the point. It is not the coaches or them coming from P/P to Public when it comes to North Central and Lawrence North. It's the landscape of where those 2 schools sit in present day. Heck 2 of the coaches you named coached from 1976-1994 and 1971-1991 (1 at LN and 1 at NC) the other from 1992-2002 (at NC posting pretty much the same 6-4 or 7-4 records the last 8 years of his career there). It's more to do with Lawrence North and North Central than it is the coaches that have been and currently are coaching there. Heck somebody already brought up Coach Dullaghan whom coached at Chatard prior to Carmel then Ben Davis. There is also Bob Springer who coached at Sacred Heart and then Indianapolis Washington (he had a lot of success at Washington until the flight of students players to Ben Davis. Present day landscapes aren't the same as the past.
